LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** In the centre of Canoa Quebrada, in a tiny strip of land, very close to busy shopping / party / dining street of R. Dragao do Mar and approx. 10 min walk from the beach. There are few restaurants around and plenty of bars within minutes of walk. Also many buggies to rent for day trips available there.||They do have a parking, which is very small as well, but reception staff keeps attention to all cars and nobody is blocking anybody else. They are also helpful in case you can’t see all spots.||||HOTEL OVERVIEW ***Relaxing, well maintained boutique hotel for all those willing to enjoy the sun, beaches and night parties of Canoa Quebrada. Great for couples and those looking for quiet time. || PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure.||||RESERVATION *** Via ebookers.ie as they had the best price and I was able to pre-pay in advance to plan my holidays better. They also had special discounts which made my total price very affordable.||||LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 2 nights.||||CHECK-IN *** I arrived late after busy day on the road, so I was already quite tired and really looking for shower and something to eat. Reception staff helped me to park my car (as spaces are limited) under the greenery and checked-me in immediately. ||They had everything ready for me. My room was Superior Suite – Pool View. In the evening hotel looked deserted. I had an impression that I’m alone in this property. I was guided to my room through courtyard with a pool and the one thing I noticed is a lot of greenery, trees, bushes and flowers. I didn’t expect that I have to say. ||||LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Opened and attached to car park, so you need to pass next to it whenever you leave or enter property. They also have a choice of different day tours and famous buggy tours available for guests. ||||ROOM *** Superior Suite - Pool View – that’s what I booked. When I entered my room late evening I wasn’t too impressed – it looked OK, but I blame my tiredness for that. I also had small welcome letter and some welcome sweets. Everything came to life in the morning and when the sun was shining. ||Room is shaped as Italian/Sardinian traditional oval/round houses – nuraghes. I had a large, comfy bed, a lot of space, kitchenette, nice bathroom and also (!!!) room extension with additional bed and wardrobes just behind my bed (as room was round). I had also lovely balcony which I could enjoy in the morning. ||There was a small kitchenette and fridge with a basic mini-bar stock. All reasonably priced, which encourages you to use and pay for that without any hesitation.||Air-condition was easy to operate and worked perfectly fine. ||In the morning I noticed that my balcony doors had some glass fish, water and water decorations which shined when the sun was out there. Loved it. ||And view from my balcony was great. Then I noticed that this is actually very nice and great-looking hotel and I could start my Canoa Quebrada part of the trip. None of the rooms is facing each other, so nobody will stare into your room or walk on your balcony. ||BATHROOM *** Clean, spacious, spotless clean. Interesting, fennel-aroma toiletries (good quality, but I know that some people hate fennel) were also provided and replenished daily. ||SWIMMING POOL *** Swimming pool (I tried that later afternoon as before I had ambitious plan to do some sightseeing, but it was far too warm for that) was awesome! Long, deep enough and with plenty spaces to rest, sit, sunbath or hide under the small bridge. You can have some drinks and lunch and even charge your phone when relaxing there. I actually love that part even if I’m not a ‘do nothing person’, haha. ||||BREAKFAST *** It was served in a room on the back of the hotel. I’d say this was the weakest part of the hotel and it didn’t have such attention to details as all other sections. It wasn’t bad, it just looked much older or even more like temporary building attached to it. ||Despite that, there was plenty of various fresh and tasty meals available to choose from and I was happy with that. On my 2nd day different items were there and also really good. 1st impression wasn’t great, but after that was perfect. ||||RESTAURANT *** I actually don’t know if they have restaurant in the property, but definitely you can order some meals from the bar near the bar. I had some really nice steak and some sandwich and of course, few beers and mojitos (Caipirinha were on a different day, haha). Again, simple, but very tasty meals and really affordable prices. ||||INTERNET ACCESS *** Wi-fi was complimentary, easy to access and signal was constant and strong.||||CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** It was quick and almost hassle-free. Unfortunately when I was trying to pay for my extras card terminal switched off (twice) and I had to use different cards. As it happened, I was charged twice (not much, but still) which was later refunded after I sent them some details of that. ||||STAFF *** Friendly and helpful, but it looks like they don’t have many non-Portuguese-speaking guests there. Unfortunately I was one of them, but that was OK. They were all really helpful and we all managed to communicate somehow. ||||OVERVIEW *** 1st impression wasn’t that great as I thought it’s empty and deserted, but later it changed and I really enjoyed my stay there. Would I come back to Il Nuraghe? Definitely YES. I liked that and I think this is very good property. Breakfast room needs some changes / renovation, but everything else – perfect. Swimming pool is fantastic and location of the hotel itself also very good and safe. I surely recommend this hotel.
