Hôtel Ile de la Lagune (Saint-Cyprien, Occitanie) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Minutes from Perpignan and the Spanish border is the coastal enclave of Saint-Cyprien; behind its long stretch of beach, on an island in the middle of the lagoon of the same name, is — as you might have guessed if your French is in decent shape — the Hôtel Île de la Lagune. It’s a lovely little villa-style resort, a mere 30 rooms and suites, and styles itself “a large holiday home” — a slight exaggeration, perhaps, but clear evidence it’s got no mega-resort ambitions." - Tablet Hotels

My family and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay. We dined at the Michelin-starred restaurant, indulged in some rejuvenating spa treatments, and appreciated the beautiful accommodations in such a stunning setting. We’re so glad we chose to include this as a stop on our journey.

I booked a room at the Llle de la Laguna Thalasso & Spa to have a restful 2 days from some very active touring. This place did not disappoint. Gerade (??) at reception met me and took care of my check in and luggage and brought me to a grand suite which was an upgrade as they were not full. I had a balcony overlooking the pool. There was music at night which was quite enjoyable. ||That night I ate at the Italian restaurant (there is also a Michelin Restaurant) which is an outdoor/indoor restaurant. You can have dinner fully outside or partially one or the other. Same with breakfast. I enjoyed breakfast by the pool in the mornings.||I had a wonderful massage with Magalie. It was 80 minutes and I was so relaxed. From there I went into the heated pool which I really enjoyed. It is at the top of the building (3rd floor) but covered, and since it was nice out all the sliders were open. So relaxing up there. ||Later that afternoon I found out that my return flight to USA was cancelled and improperly rebooked. Saskia at reception helped me so much to get the right person on the phone at the airline and I was able to get appropriate tix to go home. It took an hour of our time and I really appreciate her help.||I had dinner at the Italian restaurant the second night and also enjoyed it. The staff at the restaurants are attentive and helpful.||I didn't mention the views. There is a beautiful view of the sea from the hotel and from the outside areas. It is relaxing and enhances the peacefulness of this hotel.

Disappointing Experience – Overpriced and Dishonest Management I booked two rooms for my family at Relais & Châteaux Thalasso & Spa Île de la Lagune expecting a luxurious stay. While the hotel itself is nice, and the restaurant is decent, it is vastly overpriced for what you get. The real issue, however, was the dishonest billing practices. At check-in, we were told that everything in the minibar was included. Yet, a week after check-out, despite clearing everything with reception, the hotel charged me an unauthorized €900. Attempts to contact them via email went unanswered, forcing me to dispute the charge with my bank. The most shocking part? The hotel management outright lied to my bank, falsely claiming that I had run away from the bill—without any proof. This was a blatant scam attempt, and after eight months, I finally got my money back thanks to my bank. I cannot recommend this hotel. Luxury should come with honesty, and unfortunately, this place lacks integrity. Avoid at all costs!

What is quiet luxury? Hôtel lle da lagune is. Waking up to a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea coupled with Spanish tiled roofs and the pyreneases mountains in the distance is astounding. The rooms are intricately furnished and appliances with selective designer pieces like eames chairs and Smeg kettles. A heated 3rd floor pool with both sauna and steam room are sure to appease your relaxation needs. And to top it all off, you are in the French reverie, close to all the cute coastal towns with all the same memorizing scenery. If you are looking for a reverie on the Mediterranean coast, you've stumbled upon the right place.

Our stay at Hotel Île de la lagune villa was fine, but not really up to Relais Châteaux standards. For example, the view was terrible, overlooking a sandy construction area. We asked for a better view but they said nothing was available. The resort did not seem full though, as the units around us were empty. The organization of the “salle de bain” area was strange, with no door for privacy around the bath tub or shower area. It was all one big open room. In addition, the curtains on the terrace did not completely cover the patio doors. There was one area completely open. Did they forget to add another curtain? Finally, there was a problem at checkout. We had to cancel one night of our stay, months earlier, and they said they would keep our initial deposit to be used in the restaurant. However, the employee at checkout seemed confused and had to call a manager for help. It took 10 minutes for them to figure it out. The redeeming traits were the comfortable bed, the quiet room, and the amazing dinner at the Michelin starred restaurant.

This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. We found the service to be impeccable and attentive. The welcome was very warm and kind. Arrangements were made for us to be taken by boat to the local beach club, Temple Beach. They also arranged a taxi for our return. We only stayed two nights, but we loved it. Our terrace suite was large, clean and pretty. The bathroom and shower were also top. I hope we have the occasion to return.

. Worst place we’ve ever stayed in because of the service! We went away for my mother’s recovery because of her broken hip, she sent an email planning everything, more specifically her birthday. Requests made for this day were completely ignored and not answered! When my mother arrived in the airport she had to wait 45 minutes for the taxi to arrive. Another instance was where she had gone out to dinner with my father and when they were meant to leave they waited an hour, the taxi didn’t arrive and my father had to push my mother 1.5 miles to get back to the hotel. This happened a second time when I arrived we went out for food, we had to wait 45 minutes where we were told to wait another 20 minutes, we decided to get an Uber instead and got it in 2. We then ordered room service because my mother can’t walk far due to the injury, the first time it arrived an hour and a half late. Now on her birthday, we ordered lunch, it arrived 2 hours late, we were told that food was prioritised for people who ate at the restaurant, with my mother not being able to move very far this wasn’t possible. On her birthday my mother was crying as she tried speaking to the reception, where she was completely ignored and told they couldn’t do anything to help. I would advise to anyone looking to stay here do not expect any of the staff to accommodate anyone disabled, despite this being a 5 star hotel and the whole reason for us coming to this place. If my mother was mobile enough she would happily move to another hotel

I never review anything. This place is exceptional. The staff is very accommodating, happy and seem to like their jobs. The room was adorable. So many fun and thoughtful details throughout. We had the 7 course lunch at the restaurant with a wine pairing. Everything was local and cooked to perfection. Many of the courses had fun surprises. It’s amazing they don’t have a Michelin star. We especially loved the wine. This local region has some hidden gem wine makers and this hotel has figured out how to showcase them beautifully. The Sommelier knew his stuff. The thalasso therapy pool on the roof was a real treat and it had an adjacent hammam steam room. We will be back and I recommend this place all day long.
