We spent 2 nights at the hotel Imperial in October 2014. It is a really cute hotel with quaintly decorated, charming rooms.|| The location of the hotel is perfect, right at one end of the Standtpromenade ; the pier is a two minutes walk from the hotel. Just behind the hotel (not the sea face) there is a bus stop from where one can take buses to go to the other places on Rugen Island. Moreover, the hotel is only a 7-10 minute walk from the station. ||The rooms are actually quite big compared to other hotels in Europe and even have balconies. Our balcony, though not facing the sea directly, had a partial sea view through a line of trees which was more than what we had expected! The room came with free wi-fi which was of a decent speed, however, there is a limit on the GB. We even had drinks from the mini bar which was priced only a little higher than normal stores and not exorbitant as in most hotels.||The hotel provides breakfast which is quite hearty with many options of fish which I liked since I'm a big fish eater. The Strandpromenade is lined with cafes and restaurants which provide many other options for meals. ||Last but not the least, I have to mention about the service. It was par excellence, specially Frau Krakow, who helped us with detailed directions to Jasmund National Park and Cape Arkona and also gave suggestions regarding restaurants and cafes whenever we asked for it. She was awesome! Rugen is beautiful and although it was raining intermittently during our stay there, it turned out to be one of the high points of our Germany trip.
