Hotel Indigo Athens Downtown - Univ Area by IHG

Stayed in the Penthouse, Billard room. It has been amazing!! Didn't know a hotel room could make me feel more refreshed and re-energized. The staff has been great all hours of day and throughout the night (attended a conference and stayed in lobby until close to 3 am). Location was also great. Walked everywhere. Thank you for a very relaxing and beyond comfortable stay. I appreciate the robes in the room, the bed was super cozy too! I will definitely be back!

Hotel Indigo Athens is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how well it blends southern hospitality with a local, artsy vibe and a touch of industrial charm. The attention to detail throughout the hotel really sets it apart. The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable — the bed was perfect for a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was another highlight, stocked with high-quality products that made it feel a little more like home (or maybe even better!). Location wise, you couldn’t ask for more. It’s just a short walk to UGA and surrounded by all the fun nightlife Athens is known for. Whether you’re in town for a game, a concert, or just a weekend getaway, everything is right at your fingertips. And I have to mention the outdoor sitting area, the fireplace made it such a cozy, relaxing spot to unwind in the evening.

Indigo is a fabulous place to stay in Athens. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. There is a very good restaurant with a bar downstairs and includes a lovely outdoor area. The restaurant is great for dinner and breakfast. Indigo is in a very convenient location with ample onsite parking. Most of all, the service is excellent –both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The front desk and customer service staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. My visits to Indigo are always a pleasurable experience!

This is the best hotel in Athens hands down. The rooms are always clean, the front desk team is always willing to help. The restaurant in the lobby has an amazing staff of servers, bar tenders, and cooks. After long days, it's the best place to relax, enjoy excellent food, and enjoy a sporting event. I have stayed at the hotel for 80 days (and counting) in 2025 and it's been so enjoyable to come back to the Indigo as I'm away from home.

Stayed here for a wedding in early August 2025. Staff were extremely helpful, ensuring that I received a critical delivery of a suit before the wedding. They also helped me when I accidentally left an outfit behind - they were able to locate those items in the lost and found and arrange shipping them to me in a very timely manner. Rooms were larger than expected with tasteful local decor. As a music fan I appreciated the nods to Athens' musical and cultural history with posters of Widespread Panic and Elf Power. Beds were comfortable and we had no problems with light or noise either from from outside or our neighbors. Lobby restaurant was only decent but was a great gathering place for friends and family during this wedding weekend. Bar staff and restaurant staff were quite friendly as well. Great location to walk to bars and restaurants around downtown Athens. Absolutely would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Outstanding stay - Highly Recommend!! We stay at IHG Athens, Georgia while visiting our UGA student. All of our stays have been amazing!! The moment we arrive the staff is fantastic - warm and welcoming. A special appreciation for Ryan Crenshaw who is incredibly professional, kind and helpful, as well as Valencia who is so fun and personable. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, providing a great place to relax after a long day of fun in Athens. The hotel restaurant and bar are a combination of great food, great service and a fun atmosphere. We also love how conveniently the hotel is located - walking distance (or the shortest of drives) to downtown and the UGA campus, making it so easy to get everywhere we need to go. Game Day weekends are something extra special here!! Hotel Indigo's Pre-Game Day dinner (the night before) is a wonderful touch. Delicious food and such a fun way to get into the spirit. Plus, the Game-Day breakfast is the best way to start off the day! The trolley service to and from the game make the entire experience so smooth and stress-free. Overall, we cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Whatever your reason for coming to Athens, Georgia, Hotel Indigo is truly the perfect place to stay.

I was excited about staying here. The aesthetics of the place were nice. There was plenty of convenient parking. The check in and out were quick. We stayed in room 320. It was decorated in a modern style. There is a metal door that has a gap at the bottom that lets light and noise from the hallway into the room. The bed was firm but the pillows were hard. When I woke up in the morning the side of my face was hurting. I jumped up at after 6 AM, packed up by stuff to get out of there. I thought it was just me but my husband said his sleep score was 39. He could not remember ever having such a bad sleep score. You can't sleep on aesthetics.

This was one of the nicest hotel stays we have ever experienced. The mobility accessible room was spot on, even the height of the bed. The front desk service was friendly and professional. The coffee and breakfast service were also excellent, as was the service. The location is within walking distance of of several fine restaurants. Well be back, I hope.
