Hotel Indigo Athens - University Area (Athens, Georgia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s a rather prosaic name for such an unusual hotel, but it gets to the point — Athens, Georgia is still a small city, and the downtown and the university district are indeed one and the same. Hotel Indigo Athens Downtown - University Area is remarkable even from a distance, thanks to its barnlike silhouette, whose agricultural associations are tempered by its very modern gray-and-red color scheme." - Tablet Hotels

My experience with Mr. Gray and Ms. Stefania was absolutely phenomenal. I visited IHG indigo Athens for business and ended up staying for pleasure due to all the great events and happenings in the town. Although I reserved for 1 day, the staff quickly identified my need for lodging pass my initial reservation and ensured I had a safe place to stay. The process was seamless and very inviting. Both Mrs.Stefania and Mr.Gray ensured a way I could stay to enjoy my last minute request. Because of this experience, not only did I decide to become IHG member, but also to take the time to leave this review for truly exceptional experience in hopes both Mr.Gray and Ms. Stefania are acknowledged for their care, understanding and willingness to truly assist the client. Thank you!

Stayed here for a wedding in early August 2025. Staff were extremely helpful, ensuring that I received a critical delivery of a suit before the wedding. They also helped me when I accidentally left an outfit behind - they were able to locate those items in the lost and found and arrange shipping them to me in a very timely manner. Rooms were larger than expected with tasteful local decor. As a music fan I appreciated the nods to Athens' musical and cultural history with posters of Widespread Panic and Elf Power. Beds were comfortable and we had no problems with light or noise either from from outside or our neighbors. Lobby restaurant was only decent but was a great gathering place for friends and family during this wedding weekend. Bar staff and restaurant staff were quite friendly as well. Great location to walk to bars and restaurants around downtown Athens. Absolutely would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Indigo in Athens. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. I loved the in room lotion, hand soap, and body wash. All 3 smelled great. Location wise this can't be beat. It's in the heart of downtown and adjacent to UGA. There are tons of restaurants nearby to choose from. The parking lot looks small when you pull in to check in, but there is a another parking level once you go through the gate. ||Rebekah at the front desk had great food recommendations.||Ella at the bar was very witty and humorous.

We’ve stayed here for the past four years while our daughter attends UGA. Shout out to Ryan Crenshaw who we recently had a 5 star experience with regarding a room reservation mix up. He showed incredible positivity and solution mindset in an unexpected situation regarding our room booking. Great hotel only as great as their people and service and we’ve stayed at a bunch in Athens, this is the best!

Will use this hotel again. Place was clean and spacious. I did not eat there, but the food smelled terrific and people appeared to be having a great time. There is a terrific patio area for the evening and you are right down the street from the main drive on campus. There are multiple bars and restaurants a couple blocks from the hotel. Great place to stay.

Hotel Indigo in downtown Athens was the site of my daughter's wedding in early April. She worked with the sales team for over a year to plan her perfect day and they did an outstanding job. Everyone at the hotel was accommodating and made her day perfect. Our guests raved about the rooms! We enjoyed meeting in the lobby restaurant for breakfast and coffee and met for cocktails in the evenings. The Rialto Room was perfect for the reception. Having one site for the weekend events made it so easy. Thank you Hotel Indigo!

Yikes. This hotel room was filthy. We got in late at night and then ran out the next morning. I did not notice Joe bad it was until about 16 hours after we checked in. I did not bring this to management’s attention - which I should have but we were there for a wedding and our schedule was too packed to get into it. I actually meant to take more photos but forgot. The mold ring in the toilet was a big one. I love the indigo hotel brand but this was super bad.

In town for Regional baseball and stayed 4 nights at Indigo. The stay was very pleasant and we had no issues. I did check with the front desk after my first night to see if they do daily cleaning and apparently they do not, its every other night. I requested daily cleaning and they happily obliged. The room (double queen) was very clean, bed was extremely comfortable with very nice/soft sheets. The rooms are also relatively roomy. The biggest take away from the rooms is how quite they are. Hotels today, you typically here everything that is going on in the rooms next and above you, but not this hotel. Location and parking was a breeze and the location is very convenient to downtown Athens. Highly recommend this hotel when in the Athens area!!!
