We stayed here three nights in a 2 Double Bed Premium room. This was the most expensive hotel of our trip, but we really enjoyed our stay other than a few issues I will address below.||The building is attractive, and is located on a quiet little street close to everything, but away from the seedier or rowdier parts of central Chester. It's a few steps away from an entrance to Grosvenor Park, which also gives quick access to the river. The beds were super comfortable, and I had the best sleep here of any of our hotels (except for the last night). We also had a nice view of the church across the street. The only problem with the room is that it was way too small for two double beds! There was not enough room to have our two suitcases out of the way, and it was very difficult to get into the closet or mini-fridge without laying on one of the beds.||Our breakfast here was typical for the UK as far as its offerings, but it excelled in quality, comfort, and service. Everyone working breakfast stood out for being friendly and cheerful, and they all went above and beyond. We looked forward to the experience each morning.||Service in the bar at night was also excellent, but before I could get in there, I had an issue with my welcome drink coupons. Never, with IHG nor any other loyalty program, have I received just one drink coupon when there are two of us staying in the hotel. After checking in, I noticed that I had a coupon for just one drink. When I mentioned this later to a woman at the front desk, she said to bring it down, and she would add an "x2" to it. When I did so, however, she was not there, so I raised the issue with the gentleman who had checked us in. He did give me a second coupon, but only after giving me an uncalled for lecture about how I was abusing the system and violating IHG's policies. I would have preferred a simple "no" to that.||The aircon also went out sometime during our last night, which disturbed our sleep. We thought we had just left the temp too high, but woke up to an error symbol on the thermostat. We reported this at check-out, but they just offered a perfunctory apology.||Despite the issues we encountered, we would definitely consider staying here again.
