Hotel Indigo - Dusseldorf - Victoriaplatz, an IHG Hotel, a Design Boutique Hotel Düsseldorf, Germany

"This hotel in the Pempelfort district of Düsseldorf offers free wifi, a spa area with a gym and saunas as well as a Mediterranean-style restaurant. The Messe Düsseldorf Trade Fair and the Old Town Centre are both an 8-minute underground ride from Hotel Indigo. The stylish air-conditioned rooms were renovated in 2013. They feature a flat-screen cable TV, a private bathroom and a minibar. Regional and international cuisine are served in the hotel's own restaurant, where a buffet breakfast is also available. In summer months, drinks and meals can be enjoyed on the terrace. Great location and friendly staff! The room was spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The beds were very cozy and the linens were spotless. Minor issues: there was some noise coming from the A/C unit even when it was turned off, and although the overall cleanliness was excellent, the toilet bowl could have been a bit cleaner (there was some scale buildup and a faint urine odour). For the price we paid, I can't complain.

So the room was fine, we had a city view suite for 2 adults and 1 child. The sofa bed was a double and was made up and comfortable. There was a fridge in the room, but no minibar. Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, iron, hairdryer etc. Location is good, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and the U-bahn and S-bahn are close by. Parking is in the nearby Q park but costs €25 a day. But the real issue here is the expectation vs. what you get. I'm booking a hotel Indigo, and its 4 star rating. But....there is no bar or restaurant. A 4 star hotel with no bar? Apparently the bar is only open at weekends (it def wasn't open on a Friday night). Of course no room service either. When did a 4 star hotel not have a bar or restaurant. Its kind of the equivalent of a 2 star Travelodge or Premier Inn in the UK. Again, the hotel is ok, but for the price and the star rating, surely there are minimum standards set?

I stayed here for 3 nights. I found the staff very friendly and efficient. Room was good with a nice shower and very comfortable bed. The only downside I would say was the breakfast. I could have got a deal for €5 each day on booking and would have felt a bit better if I had but I was expecting to be up and out early each day. I had breakfast once and for €23 I was left feeling a bit short changed.

Stay 10-12 July 1 adult and 1 child sharing a double bed The room, facing the park, was quite spacious and had a tiny balcony, which was pleasant to keep the door open. Tea maker and coffee maker, free bottle of water and a box of butter cookies. ✨️✨️HIBA✨️✨️ at the front desk was very charming and speaks good Spanish 👍🏻 Location is good, clean and feels very safe. 15 minute drive from the airport. Breakfast was average, not many options. For 1-2 days it is ok, but basic.

Room was small, bed was uncomfortable. Generally not Guest centric. You get 1 free water bottle upon arrival and then you pay. I asked for a firm pillow the lady at the front desk said you need to come down and get it. I'm by myself. This is at 9pm!! What if something broke in the room!! Bathroom was clean and modern but tight. They need to move soap and shampoo dispensers to give room to stand. Btw they give you the same thing for body wash and shampoo. I guess for $100/night is worth the price Oh they've got this lady's picture (see pic) on every wall and twice in the room!!

Located not too far from the Altstadt and in a very vibrant area. Nice rooms and very good breakfast service. Gym is essential but functional. Pity the restaurant is closed unfortunately. But you won't feel the need. There's plenty of places just around the corner.

Good hotel in a quiet neighbourhood, away from the hustle and bustle. However, metro (U-Bahn) and bus stop close by and so communicating to any part of the city is easy. The room was clean and spacious, beds comfortable and room service adequate. Bathroom good and the rain shower awesome!! The tiny balcony gives a good view of the neighbourhood (City-view) and has an ashtray for a quick smoke. Restaurant provides basic but nutritious European breakfast and the bar is well-stocked for a night-cap. The staff are friendly, smiling and helpful. Visited in winter during lean season and enjoyed the peace and tranquility.

We stayed at this hotel for only two nights (16&17 June 25) before deciding to leave early due to persistent Wi-Fi problems in our room at the sixth floor. Despite bringing the issue to the attention of the hotel manager, no effective solution was provided. Unfortunately, reliable internet was essential for us, so we had to find alternative accommodation.

Yelp
My wife originally chose an airport hotel bc we had to be at another city 2 nights later. Instead my wife changed her mind & decided on this particular hotel bc of its convenient location to shops & restaurants & another personal reason. We arrived fairly quickly as our taxi driver didn't waste anytime at all. Once we got to our room we dropped off our luggage & then we went searching for a casual place to eat nearby. We found a close by Italian restaurant no problem! Thank goodness I had the translator app on my phone bc everything was in German. We were in Düsseldorf Germany duh! We loved that this hotel was clean & modern. It had a Nespresso coffeemaker & teapot maker if we needed to make tea. There was a refrigerator underneath in the cabinets which came in handy bc we stayed two nights. We only had breakfast one morning which was great. Our room had a large patio so it made our stay very comfortable & quiet. Unfortunately our flight was delayed the next day & we could have had breakfast but we didn't stay. We would return here if we came back to Düsseldorf for sure! You never know...

Yelp
Three nights here and it was more than pleasant. Located in a mostly residential neighborhood of Düsseldorf (rather than a strictly commercial one for business travelers), this hotel has a more "European" feel, rather than "American." That's okay. You just have to understand the differences. The bed was quite comfortable and with a room at the end of the hallway on the first floor (Americans would call this the second floor) and it was awesome to have a balcony (though not private) for my morning coffee. The desk was small but sufficient with power outlets. I wouldn't want to sit there for more than an hour. Wifi is unlimited and worked well. Bathroom was very nice though I really don't understand the European thing of the "half wall" for the shower. It's not just the water going onto the floor, it's also the air in the shower being cold. Not great! However, the water did get plenty hot and the heated tile floor was awesome. I did not use the hotel's breakfast so no thoughts there. When I checked in, I was told "We're only doing housekeeping upon request" and yet they did my room my first day. I left the DND on the door the second night and was not disturbed. There are plenty of restaurants https://www.yelp.com/user_details_reviews_self?userid=hWDybu_KvYLSdEFzGrniTw&location_filter_state=NW&location_filter_city=D%C3%BCsseldorf&review_filter=location&review_filter=category&category_filter=restaurants within walking distance. The Victoriaplatz U-Bahn station is close and the tram line is closer. I will absolutely choose this hotel when I return to Düsseldorf. [Review 16342 overall - 153 in Germany - 1849 of 2021.]

Yelp
Outstanding place to stay in Düsseldorf. Hotel is refreshed, clean and safe. Staff is excellent. Plenty of local shops, restaurants and everything else you need with in walking distance. Promenade is 12 minute walk.

Yelp
1) Breakfast is expensive at 19 euros. Includes one hot dish (made to order) and a cold buffet bar 2) Some good restaurants just round the corner, a nice high street of shops too 3) Quiet location 4) Air con was very good 5) Rooms had Nespresso machines (at least the superior ones had) 6) Choice of 600 points or a free drink at the bar for Platinum members. I chose the points. They posted immediately (literally 5 minutes after check-in) 7) Wifi was fast and reliable throughout the stay 8) Shower water pressure was very good, and hot water very reliable 9) Rooms are maintained very well, still looks very new. Bed and room quality is high 10) Nice Aveda toiletries! Overall a solid 3.5/4.0 star experience. I paid 150 euros a night, and felt that it might have been a bit pricey in terms of value. 100-120 euros a night would be very good value for this Indigo (for a superior room).
