Hotel Indigo Dundee (Dundee, Tayside) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Hotel Indigo brand appears in a lot of places, but it’s perhaps most notable for the way it brings the high-design style that used to be exclusively found in major capitals to cities where boutique hotels were a little bit later to arrive. Hotel Indigo Dundee is a fine example: a renovation of a charming 1822 industrial building that, having made itself over with modernist furniture and contemporary art, now feels as fashionable as anything in Edinburgh, or London, or New York." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely looking building. Oddly positioned pole as entered room. Lovely room and shower. Decent bed. Good blackout curtains. Price seems to fluctuate quite dramatically 120 now to 230 next July. Shame as I would've liked to have stayed here again.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, couldn't have asked for better. We stayed here for one night out two daughters 5 and 8 and we all had the best possible stay. The room, staff and breakfast were all absolutely fantastic and the only downside was that we didn't stay longer. We will definitely be back. 👏🏼

Having stayed at Hotel Indigo in other cities before, I had high hopes. The price was good and included breakfast and first impressions were great. We arrived at mid day and our room wasn’t ready. We left our bags with the receptionist and went out to explore. When we came back a good few hours later, our bags were in full view of the lobby. I’m not sure if they had been sitting there for the amount of time we were out or that they had just been moved. All was forgiven when we were given an upgrade to a suite. The room was a generous size with a huge bed and shower room. After a lovely quiet night, we headed down to breakfast at 10am. This is where the hotel could have gained an extra star but failed. There was nobody to greet you at the door of the restaurant and we had no idea where to sit, if it was an la carte, or was self service. We eventually decided to help ourselves to…hardly anything! Even though breakfast didn’t finish for half an hour, there was only cold tomatoes, mushrooms and warm beans left. We did eventually get the waitresses attention and asked for eggs, etc to be made but this was disappointing. It should have been 5 stars as it is a lovely hotel, but this small issue needs resolved.

Issues started at check-in. Disabled parking spaces were occupied by cars not displaying a blue badge. There was a sign on the wall to the effect of 'tell us and we'll have the car moved'. No sooner had I asked at check-in than was told 'well, we don't even know if that guest is in the hotel so we can't really contact them'. So I had to park down at the bottom of the steep cobbled driveway, forgo my wheelchair and struggle uphill on crutches. ||Then there's the 'green con' in the room. You can hang up a sign that says 'Make a green choice - no housekeeping today'. There's nothing green about not having a bed re-made, that's just an attempt to save labour costs. ||So instead, you're guilted if you dare to have the default of your room cleaned and bed re-made. Regardless of the time-honoured standard of 'hang up your towels if if you want to use them again', that was ignored and every single towel in the bathroom replaced after one usage. So in effect, MORE laundry created because you refused to save the hotel the labour you'd already paid for in your daily room rate. ||Breakfast in the Daisy Tasker restaurant was very good, a lot of hot and cold choices. Careful though, if you're on a 'room only' booking and elect to have breakfast, you'll automatically be charged breakfast for all subsequent days of your stay, so watch your bills carefully.

Excellent hotel, I’ve stayed here a few times. This time opted for the upgrade. What a lovely spacious room I had, great view, slippers and dressing gown too. Complimentary Irn Bru, crisps and caramel wafer was much appreciated.||I’ve always found this hotel very clean and the staff are friendly.

We popped into the bar on Saturday afternoon for drinks. We had an enjoyable afternoon chilling out over 2 bottles of the French "Chevanceau Vermentino" which is highly recommended. The bar itself is well appointed and although it was fairly quiet at the time of our visit there was a pleasant ambiance. Service was rather mixed it has to be said eg no wine chiller at first, mistake over food order, but these issues apart we enjoyed our visit. The olives and hummus small plates we had were the perfect accompaniment to the wine. We are sure to return and recommend to others.

I have to say, this is by far the best value Indigo I've ever stayed at. The nightly rate was extremely reasonable, and parking was affordable. Maybe I'm used to major busy city prices.. but I loved this place. Parking was available, and there was electric charging. Check In was a breeze. Lobby is very inviting, plenty of couches and chairs to lounge on. There's also a nice bar that my son and I sat at and enjoyed a few drinks. The restaurant was also top notch. The food we had there was better than at Bread Street Edinburgh. The room was also outstanding. First, it was clean. Bed sheets, bathroom, it was all clean. I was also happy there were 2 doubles. And, I put we had 1 child on the reservation, they were nice enough to put a kids comic magazine in the room. There were also bedside tables and outlets to charge. The bathroom water was nice hot and relaxing, and they had a rainfall shower head too. I would definitely stay here again, even go out of my way to stay here because I like it so much.

My first experience. Party of 5 this evening. Wonderful serving pleasant staff nothing was too much thectrouble. However. Several issues. For a start ridiculous price for a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. Never again ! I ordered the Cesear Salad stressing no Parmesan shavings dish was loaded with it definitely not waitresses fault. The lettuce had hard lumps which I discard at home. However all that apart it was delicious. 2 off the party had Chicken and Haugh Pie potato a little on the hard side. Will not be back first and last time. One guest had fish and chips absolutely lovely chips to die for ..pity my meal was awful. Huge thank you to the serving staff.
