The 7 Best Hotels in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"Located in Argüelles, this three-star property is a solid mid‑range option with a gym and a continental breakfast of cold cuts, pastries, fresh fruit, and hot drinks. I like the welcoming, colorful room design and nature‑inspired artwork; all room types include a large smart TV, minibar, Nespresso machine, desk, and comfy beds with extra plush duvets. The bathrooms are large with nice walk‑in showers, hair dryers, and comfy bathrobes. It’s within walking distance of sights like the Templo de Debod and the Royal Palace and only steps from a metro station, making it easy to get around the city." - Matthew Kepnes

Great value for money, the hotel has everything you need and is very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The location is also excellent and the beds were comfortable. Toiletries and amenities were also great and abundant. The only downside is the poor noise insulation in the rooms as the bones of the building seem to be somewhat old - you can hear people in the hallway, as well as adjacent rooms sometimes, so take it into account if you are sensitive to it.

UPDATE: 6 December 2025 I stayed at this hotel again after a month and apparently things have changed for the worse. First of all, free breakfast benefit for Diamond members have been removed. When asked, they said breakfast now costs €16 if you book a room without breakfast included regardless whether you’re a Diamond member or not. Also, the receptionist has become very passive aggressive. I requested for a late check-out of 2pm, which was approved. However, on the day of check-out at 12:30pm, the receptionist rang me and asked me, “Are you staying for one more night?” When asked back about the approved late check-out, the receptionist only replied, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Still a good hotel with a good room, but with removed breakfast benefit for Diamond member and passive-aggressive receptionist, this hotel is definitely going downhill. Not recommended. ——— The hotel is just OK. But what truly excels is how nice the reception team is. Always saying hello, even remembering my face as “someone who has stayed here before” without looking at the computer screen, and an upgrade as a bonus. Very helpful that the location is literally across El Corte Ingles so if you need groceries, you can just cross the street. Will stay here again if the rates aren’t too high 🙂

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the hotel management and all the staff for the wonderful experience I had during my stay. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. Thank you all, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

This hotel is so beautiful and the staff are so lovely. When I checked in and was waiting for my room, they offered me a cup of coffee, and even that detail was special: it was beautifully made and presented with care. David helped me with a lot of things during my stay and was so nice. I speak Spanish fluently (more or less) as a second language but I appreciate the staff speaking slowly with me so I could understand better. It was 100 degrees Fahrenheit when I came in August and the air conditioning works better than my new one in the USA: it got so cold in my room during the night that I had to get up and get another blanket (in a good way!). It was so hot during the day that it was such a relief to come back to a cold room and be comfortable while sleeping. It was great to be near the Metro and restaurants and little stores for a quick meal/water/snacks when needed. I would love to stay here again if I come back to Madrid.

We had a great visit at Hotel Indigo Princesa Madrid. The location was fantastic, being steps away from the Arguiiles metro stop, the FREE 001 bus to landmarks, a 15 minute walk to Temple of Debot for amazing views and sunsets, and Friday night street musicians on the corner. Bonus: Aldi is right around the corner with whatever toiletries you forgot to pack, as well as fresh fruit, snacks, and pastries for breakfast. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. One woman got us checked in early after a 5am arrival from the states and another printed us a wonderful itinerary for the next day, as well as booking our tickets for the Reina Sofia museum! The room was fine with new soundproof windows which made sleeping super easy. The lighting could be a little better (room 707) and a pocket door for the bathroom would be a big improvement as the bathroom door hits your knees if you are using the toilet and the door is open. The shower had good water pressure and temperature. One thing that needs improvement is the fitness center. The quality of the equipment is not good, the machines are spaced way too close together, dumbbells are needed, and the one weight machine was out of order. Located just at the end of Grand Via so it's close to everything. It's also across the street from the Metro, Zara, and a mall. Did I mention the grocery store Aldi is also across the street? This hotel has everything next to it without the price of being on the Grand Via. This hotel has another location on the Grand Via, but it's $150 more per night. I think this is a great compromise! The service is great! I also recommend getting the included breakfast package! We also had dinner here and sometimes had drinks at the bar. Love this place!

Rooms were small so would be crampt with two of you in there, but was fine for one. Room had all the amenities needed, including free items in the minibar (note that only the water is replenished for free). Room was quiet. |Decent breakfast included, although it starts quite late at 7:30am and was crowded.|Good location, from which you can walk to the main sites.
