The 7 Best Hotels in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"Located in Argüelles, this three-star property is a solid mid‑range option with a gym and a continental breakfast of cold cuts, pastries, fresh fruit, and hot drinks. I like the welcoming, colorful room design and nature‑inspired artwork; all room types include a large smart TV, minibar, Nespresso machine, desk, and comfy beds with extra plush duvets. The bathrooms are large with nice walk‑in showers, hair dryers, and comfy bathrobes. It’s within walking distance of sights like the Templo de Debod and the Royal Palace and only steps from a metro station, making it easy to get around the city." - Matthew Kepnes

This hotel is so beautiful and the staff are so lovely. When I checked in and was waiting for my room, they offered me a cup of coffee, and even that detail was special: it was beautifully made and presented with care. David helped me with a lot of things during my stay and was so nice. I speak Spanish fluently (more or less) as a second language but I appreciate the staff speaking slowly with me so I could understand better. It was 100 degrees Fahrenheit when I came in August and the air conditioning works better than my new one in the USA: it got so cold in my room during the night that I had to get up and get another blanket (in a good way!). It was so hot during the day that it was such a relief to come back to a cold room and be comfortable while sleeping. It was great to be near the Metro and restaurants and little stores for a quick meal/water/snacks when needed. I would love to stay here again if I come back to Madrid.

This was a very nice spot for us. We do seek out IHG "Indigo" when we travel abroad. They are boutique hotels that are usually more adult & quiet. Not very bougie, but very clean, with a very nice bar, dining & gathering area. This Indigo is on the very northern edge of the Gran Via, in a more residential area -- PERFECT. The subway is 200ft away and your connection to everywhere in Madrid; airport, both train stations, etc. We travel by train and never needed a ride anywhere.|The building is repurposed, so expect lower ceilings, smaller baths, small elevators, etc. But our accommodation was a large standard king room with sitting area. If you're out & about, not staying in the room all day, it's perfect. The hotel bar was friendly & well stocked, dining was good (we ate at the hotel one evening) and the included breakfast is EXCELLENT with a very fine wait staff. We specifically did not to be directly on the Gran Via, but nearby, and this was the place. The photos are accurate, so I didn't post any. Book it and enjoy your stay in Madrid on your own pace.

Stay was very pleasant and convenient. across the street is supermarket El Corte Ingles, you can buy your jamon here. Zara is also not crowded here. Staff & Manager very professional, very experience. Room offer compliment drinks everyday that I don't have to go to stores outside of hotel to get beverage. Decathlon is across the street for last minute outdoor adventure shopping.

Very friendly staff. Decent breakfast buffet. Very central location. Not super luxurious, but clean rooms with good size that has all the basic amenities. Definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Madrid.

The room in Hotel Indigo was spacious and had breakfast included. Staff were kind. Arguelles is the closest metro station from there. There are many bus stops nearby. Overall a splendid experience!

It is a nice small hotel, in pleasant neighborhood.we have stayed for 6 nights at this facilities. Our room was small in size, but comfortable. Room decor was simple, but pleasant, clean, bead was made everyday. I recommend their restaurant for evening meals. They offer a very good menu.

Nice low-key hotel in a safe and convenient neighborhood close to the Parque del Oeste, the Egyptian Temple with its spectacular views, shopping, nurses, taxis and metro. Nice typical breakfast and an excellent restaurant/bar downstairs. Art in the hallways and room add to the ambiance. Convenience of a central location without the craziness of the main tourist area.

This is my second stay here. I will always choose this hotel for the amazing location, close proximity to the metro and buses, stylish rooms, comfortable bed and linens, and clean lovely bathroom. The bar is awesome for hanging out. Always helpful and friendly staff. Recommend highly.
