Have stayed at a few Indigo hotels and what they lack in luxury they make up for in personality and individuality. This place was no exception.||Service was generally friendly, helpful and professional. We were upgraded to a "premium" room, though it still wasn't very large, just modern, well designed and trendy. Towels were nice but sheets were scratchy and low quality and should be replaced. The metal and glass doors gave it a nice post industrial feel-- but the tinted glass on the bathroom was just a bad design choice. The bright light from the bathroom lights up the whole room and is close to the bed, so if you use the bathroom and your partner is a light sleeper and still asleep, he/she won't be for long. The sliding door to the indoor hallway was weird but turned out to be great as a second sound barrier against any interior noise.||Location was excellent for exploring Melbourne, and breakfast exceeded my expectations. The buffet wasn't huge but they did have a decent selection and covered my needs as a vegetarian well ever day with veg fried rice and toppings, salad greens and some very tasty fresh ricotta and feta, as well as roasted nuts and seeds and some pretty tasty baked goods. If anything, would be nice if they varied it from day to day but still I thought the quality was good for the hotel star category.||We tried Happy Hour once at the bar and although there were some decently priced drink specials, they weren't very good. Weak and not well crafted/presented. And the ratatouille appetizer from the "French" restaurant was shockingly bad, undercooked and tasteless- nothing like anything I ever tasted in my year living in France. If there is a French chef he needs to review the recipes and cooking that is taking place.|| Still, the value was excellent for the rates we paid, the hotel is very modern and comfortable and has a good vibe, and the staff are doing a good job so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
