Unfortunately, this has to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. My friend and I had a one night stay in Memphis and we picked this hotel because of it's proximity to downtown/easy drive to Beale Street and had good reviews. However, we had the exact opposite of a pleasant experience. After driving over 4 hours from Hot Springs to arrive into Memphis late at night, we were exhausted but excited to get to our room and Cassondra was super friendly at the front desk. However, when we got to our room we saw multiple issues with our room, including finger prints that we had to wipe down with Clorox wipes we brought. The biggest issue was the glass door to our bathroom, as it was difficult to open/close and we noticed it was off the hinge. When we tried to open the door, it completely cracked and shattered, scaring us that it was about to burst. This was a huge safety hazard, as the glass door could've exploded and cut our faces, feet, etc. so we immediately called the front desk to inform Cassondra about the incident. Quickly, we gathered all our stuff we had just unpacked, scared that the glass door could explode any second, and moved to a new room down the hall. Sadly, that room wasn't any better. We ended up having to wipe down finger prints everywhere again with our Clorox wipes, found trash/paper in our toilet that we had to flush, endure an odd perfume scent (indicating someone had just been in our room), plus request for new bedsheets from Cassondra as both our beds had stains, dirt, and hair. We waited over 2 hours for someone to bring us new sheets, but as it approached midnight, we ended up going downstairs to try to grab sheets from Cassondra directly. We could see in the Lobby she was the only person on staff, and there were a few other customers waiting in line to speak with her or check-in. She informed us that the security guard was already on her way to our room to bring us new sheets, but apologized that they didn't have enough new bedsheets to give us. We didn't want to stress her out any further, so took the trash bag she gave us to put our old bedsheets in and bring it back to our room to meet the security guard. Unfortunately, the sheets that the security guard gave us were only: 1 top sheet, 1 fitted sheet, and 2 pillow cases for the TWO beds we had reserved. No blankets, so my friend and I ended up having to go back to our car to grab blankets we had luckily brought on our trip to keep ourselves warm. And unfortunately, my friend couldn't sleep well on her bed because the mattress was deeply sunk in the middle where she kept waking up every hour and slept DIAGONALLY across the bed to try to balance out her body.
Despite me reaching out to the IHG Customer Service and creating an IHG case number ,and then calling Hotel Indigo' Memphis' manager, Anup Patel, multiple times, our issues were never resolved. I had called IHG Customer Service in hope they would refund our 1 night stay since we had such a terrible experience, and they said that conversation needed to be made directly with the Hotel Indigo property manager, which is Anup. Anup never came into the hotel while we stayed in Memphis, so I called him then the next day when I got his direct number from the front staff, and he did not pick up. Anup only picked up my call once 48 hours later when we were already out of Memphis, and he agreed it was an "unacceptable experience" and that "he'll do his research and get back to me." It's been over 3 days since our stay at his hotel, and still no call back. I understand that the pandemic has severely impacted hotel businesses and hours of staff, but that does not excuse the poor customer service we have received thus far. The only people who were kind to us were the front desk staff, doing their best in the situation they were put in, but I still do NOT recommend this stay to anyone.
