The Best Hotels in Milan

"Best Milan hotel for: stylish comforts that won’t break the bank In a 19th-century residential apartment block, this delightful B&B mixes vintage and Art Deco and is within striking distance of the financial district of Porta Nuova. The apartment brims with character, decorated with finds that owners Marco and Fabio have acquired from their travels over the years (Indian rugs from Darjeeling; a Mexican statue depicting La Catrina; a palm-shaped lamp and wicker chairs from Barcelona), along with items of furniture passed down by family members. The rooms feature charming touches with playful designs including ochre flowered wallpaper and hand-painted Sicilian tiles in the bathrooms. We especially like the delightful terrace where breakfast is served during the warmer months of the year. Price: Rooms from around $122 per night Address: LaFavia Milano, Via Carlo Farini 4, 20154 Milan, Italy Book now at LaFavia Locanda Pandenus Best Milan hotel for: an affordable but chic stay You’d be forgiven for missing the entrance of this little bolthole tucked away above a bustling bistro-slash-café. Squeeze your way past the busy bar to the sound of coffee machines humming and whirring and head upstairs to this hideaway with only four rooms. You’ll find thick velvets in bold hues of terra-cotta and turquoise, retro geometric motifs, and smart fabric wall coverings, while the elegant bathrooms with monsoon showers are fitted with white and black marble to exude a timeless appeal. There’s an itsy-bitsy lounge where you can sit back and unwind although the action is at the bistro—pop downstairs for a bite or an aperitivo as the sun begins to set. Price: Rooms from around $255 per night Address: Locanda Pandenus, Via Mercato 24, 20121 Milan, Italy Book now at Expedia Book now at Booking.com"

1st of all want to express my gratitude to Mr. Ricardo at the front desk for his exceptional help in finding a solution for my final night’s stay at Hotel Indigo Milan. He kindly arranged a quiet corner room, allowing me to sleep soundly, and his efforts made my experience truly memorable. Thank you, Ricardo! I stayed at the Indigo Hotel in Milan for two nights, from September 11 to 13. The location is great—really close to the Duomo and surrounded by tons of great shops and restaurants. I was in Room 201, which was a good size for two people and had a fantastic minibar. The room had two windows and a cute little balcony. One downside: one of the windows didn’t close properly, so it got a bit noisy in the early morning and messed with my sleep a bit. The bathroom was small but had everything I needed and some nice amenities. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The selection was pretty limited—the boiled eggs were cold, and there wasn’t a live cooking station. I couldn’t find basics like sunny-side-up eggs, scrambled eggs with cheese, or avocado toast.

Very good hotel, a pleasant surprise. Location is just far enough of the center you’re feeling a bit of respite, yet close enough you can quickly hop in and out of the city. Only issue is the very dynamic pricing strategy, where a room can move from 1000€ to 300€ in a matter of days. Yes yes, I know, events etc. Will increase the price. Still. It’s annoying. The room was good, the staff excellent, and the restaurant was actually nice. The 5% forced tip that you have to decline isn’t really a good practice IMO, especially when the hotel is part of a large group like IHG. Why should the staff get 5% of 1000€ for a single night, for a total of 10 minutes of interaction is beyond me. Rooms aren’t sound proof like they should, but it was still adequate. For 300€ this is a good hotel. For 1000€, you’re just sponsoring the owner new Ferrari.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is gorgeous. Giorgio at check in was so friendly and helpful. I had a friend join me last minute and they added her with no problem and helped her check in without me present as her train was delayed and I was out exploring. We had a great one night stay, the hotel itself made me want to stay longer. It was simply beautiful and a great location!

Stayed here for one night before dropping down to Lake Garda. ||A fabulous quirky hotel with great staff. ||Our welcome could not have been more welcoming and friendly. ||The room was spacious, well appointed and immaculate. ||Breakfast was above average with lots of choice.

Beautiful hotel. Check-in was completed by a lovely member of staff who has been very helpful for the whole stay. ||Room was very nice and clean with a soft bed and different types of pillows. ||Every member of staff have been very welcoming. ||The only negative would be the breakfast. I would not recommend this. Very basic, not a lot of hot food and the cake that I chose was stale, probably from the day before. Not worth the money. Better to buy breakfast out. ||Would recommend the hotel as it is also in a great location.

A centrally located, upmarket hotel. Feels quite homely as it is not too big, yet definitely has a stylish feel. Rooms are lovely and well air conditioned, even in a serious heat wave. Breakfast buffet is varied and tasty. Staff super friendly and helpful.

This small hotel is clean, quiet, nicely designed with big bathroom, for the price and proximity to the Duomo (10-15 minutes walking distance) we can't really ask too much. There is a Carrefour supermarket 3-5 minutes walking distance to help you reduce the cost of vacation. You can get a cup of coffee or meals inside of the hotel and look at the huge giraffe sculpture while you rest. Restaurants nearby are reasonably priced as well. 24 hours concierges were polite and English speaking to cater to our needs.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Indigo Milan Corso Monforte. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, everything was perfect. ||We were checked in by Joyce, who was friendly and efficient, and she even escorted us up to the room to give us a quick tour. Bell staff brought up our bags just a few minutes later. Room was a nice size with a small balcony, and was very tastefully decorated. It was warm in Milan, and the AC worked great. We made good use of the coffee maker in the room, and when we requested more coffee pods, the pods were placed in a very cute cloth bag with all the necessary supplies. This was indicative of the attention to detail exhibited by the staff at this hotel. ||Breakfast was included for us. We are normally not fans of a buffet breakfast, but the breakfast at Hotel Indigo Milan was the exception. We loved the varied choices and the availability of fresh omelets to order. In fact we enjoyed it so much, we invited friends to join us for breakfast one of the days.||The location of the hotel couldn't be better. We were able to walk or take a short metro ride to everything we wanted to do while in Milan. The San Babila metro station is just a 5 min walk, and the Duomo di Milano is only about a 15 min walk from the hotel.||Staff was always friendly and inviting and spoke excellent English. Special thanks to Joyce, Jasmine, and the breakfast staff (didn't get names) who always made us feel welcome.||We will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we are in Milan.
