Hotel Indigo - Omaha Downtown (Omaha, Nebraska) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There was a time when it wasn’t so easy to find a properly stylish boutique hotel in the American heartland; and if Omaha, Nebraska isn’t in the heart of the heartland, then we don’t know what is. Fortunately, times have changed, and cities like this one can now offer lodgings on the level of the Hotel Indigo - Omaha Downtown. It’s something of an homage to what might be the most glamorous era of Omaha’s history — Prohibition, when the saloons and speakeasies were forced underground, and happenings spread by word of mouth." - Tablet Hotels

Comfortable and Stylish !! I stayed at Hotel Indigo Omaha for one night while passing through, and overall my experience was excellent. From the moment I arrived, the front desk check-in clerk was welcoming and professional, which set a great tone for the stay. Parking was easy, and I appreciated being offered water at the entrance—a small but thoughtful touch. The hotel itself is very comfortable and highly picturesque, especially the indoor atrium, which immediately stands out as you walk through the property. It’s beautifully designed and adds a unique charm to the downtown setting. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of downtown Omaha and very convenient. My room was spacious, stylish, and extremely comfortable. The view was great, overlooking two large buildings, which gave the room a true urban feel. The coffee setup was excellent and included an espresso machine. While espresso machines can be a bit tricky (I usually sacrifice the first pod figuring them out), it’s still a nice premium feature to have in the room. The bathroom was well done, and the shower pressure was strong. However, the showerhead settings were a bit aggressive—all the jet options felt very harsh and fast. For anyone sensitive to strong spray, this might be slightly uncomfortable. There was also a minor issue with the climate control system; I found it somewhat complex to operate and couldn’t quite figure out what was happening, but I was tired enough that it didn’t impact my sleep. Overall, this was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. For a one-night visit, it checked all the boxes—great location, stylish design, comfortable room, and friendly service. I would absolutely choose Hotel Indigo again if I’m back in Omaha.

Very enjoyable stay. Check-in was easy and the front desk folks were extremely friendly and helpful. It's a cool looking hotel inside and out and the speakeasy bar was an unexpected amenity. My room was quite large and the exposed brick wall and cement ceiling creates an urban, loft feel. Overall, I would totally recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.

Came to Omaha for a funeral. So it wasn’t the best set of circumstances to visit, but these folks made it so much better. Arrived in Omaha and wasn’t sure about how to get to the hotel so I called them. They had a driver pick me up within 15 minutes in a beautiful car that even had massage seats. The driver was so personable and friendly. The front desk folks were so personable and friendly. My room was awesome. I went down for some drinks and the bartender was so personable and friendly. This place is really a gem of Omaha. Thank you, Brittany., Monica and Gulana.

Google
Beautiful hotel with a 20s theme. Rooms are spacious and well thought out. Great area that was very walkable. They offer bike rental as well. Front desk was super friendly. There's a speakeasy tucked back in the convenience area. The gym is well equipped and has a large space for floor work.

Google
Great hotel, staff, and price point. Easy access off I-40. Stayed here just one night, while headed east. The hotel is some sort of old converted building downtown that has cool aesthetics and a good vibe. Dog friendly, as always with a $30 fee. There’s not much of anything in the walking vicinity besides a coffee shoppe, parking garages, and other big buildings. Easy to get food delivered and free parking bonuses! Dog approved- oh and the bed was the super comfy!

Taylor and the Hotel Indigo staff were absolutely amazing! I booked my board of executives guest room here and also utilized their boardroom to host our hybrid meeting. I received such wonderful feedback on the staff, the rooms (gorgeous!), their food, and the AV setup in the meeting space. Not to mention the prices were fantastic as well! Taylor was a joy to work with throughout the planning process. She was responsive, answered all of my questions, and made sure my group was taken care of. Aside from the beautiful property, her kindness was a huge deciding factor on having my executives stay there. If you are considering Hotel Indigo for your trip or event in Omaha, don't pass up the opportunity to stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Indigo! When we arrived to check in, we were given a glass of champagne! Our room was spacious and had an amazingly cool vibe! The bathroom was also spacious and modern and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room and property were absolutely spotless! The people that worked at the hotel were all so friendly and helpful. They also have a speakeasy on the property. We really enjoyed the vibe and the drinks were delicious. They also have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius. That was really helpful! We absolutely loved everything about this hotel and would highly recommend it!

Google
The good first. My room is very large and so is the bathroom. The kind of hip industrial design well done. The bed was comfortable and I would say the room was reasonably clean. I had a small problem but the hotel handled it well. The bathroom door wants shut wouldn’t reopen so I couldn’t access it all night. First thing in the morning they sent someone to help me and they were able to open it, but I had to keep the door open the whole time as it wasn’t really repaired. But the staff responded quickly and were helpful. Overall, I would say the staff was super friendly and helpful. Not all the front desk folks were as friendly as others, but some busier than others as well. Another great benefit is the shuttle, although it was not available for most of one of my two days there. But when it is working, it’s super helpful. The worst part of my visit was that they are using some kind of dispersed scent in the public areas that I found completely disgusting. It smelled like bad car wash air fresheners that are used to cover up smokers’ smell in cars. It made me feel like the hotel wasn’t as clean as I thought it looked, and they were using the scent to cover up some kind of bad smell. That may not be the case, but they should get rid of that horrible scent. I couldn’t even sit in the lobby. I had to stand outside because it was so bad. Otherwise, I would’ve given the hotel higher marks, probably a four particularly since the price is so incredibly reasonable. I couldn’t give it five stars since the food service is extremely limited to just a couple items for breakfast and nothing in the evenings. They evidently are planning to add more breakfast service in the future.

Yelp
What a fabulous boutique hotel! Came into town with a friend for a concert last night and while we didn't spend much time in the hotel, we had a fabulous stay. The staff we met were extremely friendly. The hotel was very clean and SO cute. Loved the exposed brick in the halls, the decor, and the open ceilings. Beds and pillows were comfy and the shower was great. There is a cute speakeasy inside the hotel and their own bar. We got breakfast sandwiches from the bar and they were definitely not homemade or very good but they were edible and that's what we needed. I also got a delicious brown sugar rosemary latte.

Yelp
This is probably the third time I've stayed at the hotel indigo. As usual the room was clean and very aesthetically pleasing. Staff was very kind and accommodating as usual. I love the speakeasy. I love the bar inside their breakfast. Menu is pretty great as well. If you're in downtown Omaha need to place stay I recommend hotel indigo. GO TO THERE!!!

Yelp
The hotel is very beautiful and I loved my suite. Every touch of the decor is very hip. You can hear a lot from the street but that's just city life and doesn't bother me. The place would be rated a lot better if they had different staff. At first they were very kind, but then they kept bothering me about check in of another room and called twice. I said please don't call just text and they seemed upset after that. Thursday and Friday night both I had to call and figure out where to park. Thursday the manager moved her car and had me park in her space. They assured me they keep track of how many passes are going out and it won't happen again. Fast forward Saturday, I get back pretty late and the only spot is handicapped. I call asking where I should park and she said there. My problem is with the $20/night parking they should not be giving out more passes than there are spots. It fits maybe 20 cars? At the bar, you can see employees sitting around watching tv. That's fine but probably something to do in the back? I just think some better staff training or employees could take this place up a notch.

Yelp
We loved the look of the property and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately the hotel was very noisy. There were guests screaming and laughing in late hours and we could hear everything in our room. There was also a motorcycle racing in the streets over and over and we could hearing everything. Also the valet service though they were nice was very slow and the fridge in our room was so small I couldn't put my food leftovers inside of it. Nice hotel, nice staff but too noisy for us.

Yelp
What a delightful place to stay with delightful people!!! Maya at the front desk is so personable & helpful with a 1000 watt smile!! Your stay includes a shuttle driver (Nick) who gladly takes you free of charge to attractions or dinner within several miles of the hotel. I do recommend tipping though. A bar is available for light breakfast fare in the morning and drinks at night. There's a cool Speakeasy hidden behind the black door. Knock 3 times for entry. There's a whole story and theme for their cocktails and mocktails. There's a charge to park around the hotel, so I'd recommend doing valet parking and paying when reserving your room bc there aren't a lot of spaces. Ok, now for the room. My room was the standard 2 Queen beds. And there was plenty of space for 2-4 people. There's a nice big shower with multiple shower heads. Offered bathroom amenities are hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. All are attached and not travel size bottles. The bed is comfortable. The a/c seemed to be on a timer of some sort. The fan ran 24/7 and seemed to go between freezing or comfortable most of the time. During the night it got downright cold. But I sleep best that way. There's no microwave in the room but one is available in the common area. There's also some refreshments for purchase downstairs. My room came with a Nespresso coffee machine and a small cute orange mini fridge. A chair for lounging in along with a writing desk and chair were also available in the room. Because of the history of this building, the room has tall ceilings and exposed brick under the large windows with a view. I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it another day. And Maya was awesome with accommodating me! Don't sleep on The Hotel Indigo...but do go sleep AT the Hotel Indigo if you're ever in Omaha!

Yelp
With a son at Creighton University, we have been up to Omaha many times and stayed in multiple locations. Hotel Indigo (an IHG hotel) was an impressive surprise! It is a beautiful and thoughtfully renovated space close to the University as well as the downtown and Old Market areas. From the moment you step into the lobby, the staff is friendly and the vibe is comfortable. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are numerous. They have a small area off the lobby with essential items, a Nepresso coffee maker and a clever little speakeasy called Anna's Place. This little gem is a must if you're staying at the hotel (or even if you're not) with local history and deliciously crafted cocktails. The gym is well appointed and they will also soon be opening a bistro restaurant next door. For now, they offer coffee in the guestrooms and lobby, as well as a few small choices for breakfast. The architecture is interesting and the decor is tasteful. Other than parking (we had to park on the street), I would say Hotel Indigo is a perfect choice if you're in the Omaha area.

Yelp
If I could give this business a ZERO I would! I'm so extremely disappointed with their customer service!!! We have been loyal customers to IHG properties over the years but WILL NEVER stay at one again based on CARMALITAS (the manager) inability to work with me in a fair and reasonable way. There was an error in dates on the reservation and I showed up for our intended stay & SHE WOULD NOT work with me on repairing it. I could NOT show them a confirmation email because THEY NEVER SENT ONE therefore I couldn't verify the dates reserved. So instead of them acknowledging their mistake and working to make it right- they refused to assist and preceded to charge me the $300 NO SHOW FEE even though I was standing in front of her! Absolutely ridiculous!! Zero customer service. Carmelita you just managed to loose your company THOUSANDS of dollars in future business over a small misunderstanding. Shame on you!!!

Yelp
They have a lovely shuttle to/from hotel to local restaurants or meetings. Staff is very friendly. Workout room is clean and has nice Matrix brand elliptical, treadmill x2, bike, and weights. Rooms are quiet& stylish. Bathroom has nice shampoo etc. (minimal plastics). Lots of public parking nearby if you're not interested in Valet. Soft linens.

Yelp
We had a great stay here! Our room was very clean, staff was extremely kind and helpful, and housekeeping was consistent and met our needs. Located downtown, not only was I pleasantly surprised how quiet it was, but there is so much to do downtown that this hotel is in a great location near likely anything that one would want to do. Their shuttle service is very helpful as **available parking downtown is very limited**. That said, with the hotel's happy hour, the speakeasy located inside it, and the lovely Astute Coffee next door, you don't have to go far for some of the area's delights.

Yelp
I could not have possibly picked a better place to stay for my time in Omaha. At Hotel Indigo, everything from the friendly staff, cleanliness, comfort, and location were worry of 5+ stars. When I got into Omaha it was a little too early for check-in so I opted to store my bags at the hotel so I could walk around and explore the city. The hotel is only about a 5-10 minute walk from Old Market, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, Creighton University, and a ton of other local attractions. In addition to this, the hotel has a driver who will take you anywhere within 3 miles of the Indigo. We used the service quite a few times during our stay and our driver was Nick. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about Omaha. He is seriously the best, so make sure to tip generously if you use his services! Now when it comes to the room and amenities, it could not have been a better stay. Our room was so elegantly decorated, the bathroom was very spacious and came equipped with a rainfall shower, and of course the most important part, the bed, was so comfortable and cozy. Another interesting feature of the Indigo is that in addition to their downstairs bar, they also have a speakeasy on their first floor. It is called Anna Wilson, and it's a very cool spot to hang out with super friendly staff. Overall, I was so impressed by the Indigo and would give it more than 5 stars if I could. It was only a quick 2 night stay for us but I would have happily stayed longer.

Yelp
Great, modern loft style rooms with plenty of space and tasteful fixtures/decor. Lots of exposed brick, retro style fridges etc. But really the best thing was the service from the front desk. The ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to cater to all of our requests and needs. My dad sent my teenage neice on a plane before him and she needed a room before he got there so they let us check in on his behalf a bit early so she would have a place to put her stuff and stay until my dad got to town. Was a lot of moving parts for Thanksgiving and they helped things go as smoothly as possible. It was our second time staying there and it's probably going to be our go to for future Omaha trips as well.

Yelp
We were in town on business and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and they have a free shuttle to take you around the city. Our driver Nick was the BEST. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
On a cross country road trip. Just spent the night at Hotel Indigo and I can't say enough great things about this place! From the moment the valet greeted us as arrived to the moment we walked into the lobby, I was super impressed. It is absolutely lovely and charming!!! I've stayed at boutique hotels before but this one blew me away. (Btw - it was the least expensive hotel I could find in Omaha and it's literally a mile straight up the street from the freeway on ramp.) It was super clean and the amenities were plentiful. Chic bar, restaurant, and it even had a fitness center! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed so comfy my husband said it was the first great sleep he's had so far on our trip. Seriously, you will LOVE this place, plus it's in the heart of a beautiful little area with parks. They even have bikes you can rent to explore, even though everything is walkable. Free WiFi! Pet friendly! There's a cool coffee shop right next door. Thank you Hotel Indigo for a great experience!!!

Yelp
Hotel Indigo was a phenomenal stay! I am kicking myself for not taking pictures while we stayed, but I can't praise this hotel and their staff enough! The hotel has so many amenities and everyone was extremely helpful. We checked in and left our car with the valet and the rest of our weekend was pure bliss. Check in was smooth and the room was decorated well and very clean. Thursday night the hotel put on a free cocktail hour with great mixed drinks in their bar area. The coolest part by far was the speakeasy on the first floor. If you are looking for a place to stay while in downtown Omaha I would highly recommend.

Yelp
We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel and would HIGHLY recommend if you're staying in Omaha. It's a brand new hotel with urban/rustic boutique-style rooms. We arrived late at night and, while the hotel parking lot was full, there was more than enough street parking available. The front desk informed us the area was pretty safe and we could trust our car being parked where we did. Very convenient. Checking in (and out in the morning) was super easy. The staff was notably friendly and all really wanted to ensure our stay went well while we were in town. Traveling with a dog can be stressful; but this hotel made every accommodation to make it as easy as possible. I couldn't find anything to complain about, if I tried. Lastly, and I don't know if this is just because they're brand new and somewhat unknown, but the cost for our stay was MORE than reasonable. Well below what I've paid to stay at much lesser hotels. Long story short: I wish I had a reason to stay in Omaha longer, just to enjoy this hotel more!
google avatar

Yelp
Charming new hotel with a historic-meets-modern vibe. I loved my room -- clean, quiet, spacious, tall exposed cement ceilings, artfully decorated. There's a construction project for a new restaurant, but it wasn't disruptive. Definitely try Anna's speakeasy for adult, yet playful cocktails. More downtown than in the Old Market, but walkable. Free parking in a slightly spooky garage across the street.

Marshall O.

Yelp
Nice, clean room. But they blast pop music in the lobby all night and it's keeping me up. I don't need to listen to Taylor at 330 am.

Mason P.

Yelp
when you book on IHG they have a breakfast package that is described as a "full breakfast for two" it's about 20.00 more a night. When you get there you find out they only have pastries and coffee. At check out you ask for the 20.00 back and they refuse. They literally steal 20 bucks a night from you and they don't care. I asked the to correct their add but they are still doing it today. THE REFUSED TI REFUND THE DIFFRENCE PER NIGHT

Yelp
Great Hotel!! Find Micheal at the hotel bar!!! We stayed at Hotel Indigo for a girls weekend, and found our way down to the hotel bar. Micheal was our bartender and made THE BEST DRINKS!! They have a great selection of drinks, but he was happy to change it up any way we wanted it. The atmosphere was great! We loved Mya at the front desk too! She is absolutely precious and very helpful. They even offered a shuttle at night to drive you to places within 3 miles. The hotel and rooms are stunning, but it is the people that made this a trip to remember!!

Meagan G.

Yelp
One of the best hotel experiences I have had in ages! The hotel is super chic and beautifully decorated! Maya, one of the front desk agents, is so kind and made check in a breeze. She was super helpful and made our time here spectacular! Michael, a bartender, is super chill and makes some of the best cocktails I have ever had. He is super cool to talk to and made us laugh the whole time we sat at the bar. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are back in Omaha!

Katie E.

Yelp
This place was super super cute, very good vibes for a girls trip! The staff was friendly and greeted us upon entry. It was a little pricey but definitely worth it! It is in a safe neighborhood but a little too far to walk to the Old Market (about 1 mile). We walked one morning but decided to Uber back at night since it was dark and cold. The Uber was only about $7 so it was worth the ride versus the 25ish minute walk without good scenery, for us anyways!

Yelp
I'm not saying this is the best staff in the hospitality business, but I am saying this is the best staff I've ever come across in the hospitality business!
google avatar

Angelica S.

Yelp
Decided to do a staycation and booked a room for the night. The check in was a breeze and the hotel design was beautiful. Parking is a bit of a pain as they don't have onsite parking. It's recommended to park in the meter parking around the hotel. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Stayed here back in early April 22'. It must have recently opened. The room was amazing and the tiled glass door shower was of artisan quality and huge. The bed was very comfy. I love old buildings turned into apartments or hotels. So much history.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Highly recommend! wonderful property with cool style and clean environment. On-site bar and speak easy. Michael (bartender) offered wonderful service, drinks, and conversation. Mya (front desk services) was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We honestly felt like special guests during our stay!

John H.

Yelp
Great location. Historic building with large rooms, high ceilings, great architecture. The renovation was done very well and attention to detail. Staff was great and friendly. Might be haunted, IDK. My bath light was spastic for a little while but never again. There were two on same switch and only one was Ghostbustering it.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed there for the FEI equestrian world cup in April. I'm never a complainer bc I give everyone benefit of doubt but this was an exception. Our trip started with no parking for us when we arrived only option was meter parking where we have to move car or feed meter at 9am or a sketchy garage that was not secured, then our first night I was very warm in our room I tried to adjust temp in room and no option to adjust temps. I called front desk was told it was an issue with the hvac they were aware of and was being looked at and would have an answer on Friday, then tried to get ice on multiple floors none were working until I went to 4th floor. On Friday after 2 sweaty days in our room hotel we were offered another room . Other room also had no AC, then they told us to open window, window that only opened 2inches in which someone on Friday night was sitting underneath and shouting obscenities all night. Then we were offered a fan they would hold for us. Came back to hotel Friday night to find no fan for us and after call back down to desk they bright up a 6in heater that had a fan option. The hotel staff was given many excuses to give to us, they kindly gave us discount that they were prepared to do ahead of time as they knowingly knew they had this hvac issue since December.... Ive traveled very much for work monthly and never had this issue happen but was told by staff this happens often with other hotels and these hotels just hide it better.. I'll say the staff was very nice with what they had to deal with. Hotel was very cute and unique but the deception left very bad taste in my mouth.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
There were two nearly empty rolls of toilet paper in the room, I had to go to the front desk for more. They advertised breakfast, there was a small selection of orange juice, fruit and granola bars. No coffee, only a disgusting espresso machine in the room. Only parking was a public parking garage on the next block. I would never stay here again.

Yelp
We got to stay here recently within about a month of the hotel opening and it was fantastic! Modern design, very clean/quiet, and the table shuffleboard on the first level were all great.

Tonya M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in. Very clean, great service, quiet room. The pictures shown in the gallery is exactly what you'll get! Dan the marketing manager is wonderful

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Amazing modern design, clean rooms, great amenities, and attentive staff

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Large, gorgeous, exceptionally clean rooms. Just stunning, but.....on the evening which we were staying, we got back to the hotel around 9:30ish. We were exhausted from a weekend in Kansas City then a full, hot day at the HD Zoo. Entered the hotel only to be informed the electricity to the elevator and rooms was out. I am physically handicapped, so we waited for a while in the lobby, hoping the problem would be solved. After about an hour we just couldn't sit any longer in the lobby, so I had to climb the stairs, which caused more pain than you can imagine. We entered our room, and it was hot. I opened the two windows (about 4" was the max) only to be assaulted with the horrid noise of what I would say were generators. They sounded like airplane engines outside of our room. We laid in bed for 4 hours unable to sleep. The electricity came back on around 2:00 a.m. The next morning, I asked if we were going to be receiving any type of refund for the terrible inconvenience, but was informed that we were not. It was possibly the most terrible evening I have ever experienced in such a beautiful hotel. I feel management should have made themselves available and issued at the least, a partial refund, or some type of voucher for another stay, or partial stay. I guess I expected too much. Very sad, as I will not be staying there again, nor will I recommend such a lovely place to anyone else.
