I got some of my best sleep in that bed!! My boyfriend and I are still talking about it. The setup was very nice for Valentine’s Day! The band definitely set a nice tone and vibe!! Love was definitely in the air… I would love to thank the staff who helped make our stay memorable!!

Stay and see!

The staff and overall atmosphere of this spot is EXCELLENT. Everyone is incredibly friendly and kind and made my significant other and I feel so welcomed. The rooms were very roomy (probably could use some extra furniture) but honestly the bed/pillows were some of the comfiest I've had at hotel in recent memory. Bathroom was clean and had great lighting. Really enjoyed the time we spent here!

We called and asked “is the hotel pet friendly?” They answered “yes”. We asked what the rate is for two adults and a small dog. They told us $130. They took our credit card number to secure the room. We show up and the same person we talked to on the phone checked us in. She looked at the dog and said it’s a $75 fee to have a pet. Over the phone we asked 1.) is the hotel pet friendly 2.) we would like a room for 2 adults and one dog. WHY WERE WE QUOTED WITHOUT THE PET FEE???? On top of this, it’s $32 to park your car. Please, for the love of god, go somewhere else. Not to mention the industrial strength deodorizer they use in the common areas and rooms is nauseating and vile.

We were a little hesitant to stay here based on some of the reviews we read but our room and bathroom were very clean. There was an old chair in the room that was dirty so we didn't want to sit in that which only left two of us to share one rolling desk chair the entire time. So the room is definitely in need of more seating options but other than that, it was great. The hotel restaurant was excellent, especially the wings and the Wallace breakfast, and the cookies put out in the lobby were a nice touch as well. The valet is pricey considering the cars are literally parked across the street where guests could easily do it themselves. But check in and check out was pleasant and easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful so other than those few minor things, it was an excellent stay.

I can appreciate repurposing old buildings. But it needs to be done properly. Some parts of the room were upgraded and others were not. For example, the shower walls had new tile but the floor of the shower was old brown square tiles that had black mold in some of the grout and there was significant mold in the grout between the wall and floor pan. The room itself smelled like an old, musty apartment. No one should have to pay any amount for a hotel room with mold. But I would have shown more grace if the rate was more reasonable. But to charge almost $200 per night (and this was a discounted group rate) for that was not worth it at all. I gave two stars only because the desk staff was nice. Housekeeping was also nice but he BANGED on the door early Saturday morning after I had little sleep. The hotel was not what I expected.

When you make a reservation for four people to stay at this hotel, you should not have to repeatedly ask for enough towels for the guests. Yet that was the case twice! Moreover, you should not expect any push back from the front desk staff. Recognizing that it was the Christmas holiday and the housekeeping staff was not working, the front desk staff told us that someone would bring us enough towels the next morning. But we had to call them again. When we had the room refreshed the following day 12/27, housekeeping only left us with two sets of towels for the four of us!

I was not informed my room would not be cleaned daily. The room was dated, very dirty, furniture was filthy and the floors looked like they had never been moped. I was not comfortable walking around without shoes. I paid a premium price since it was a busy weekend in the area. I expected way more based on the reviews. Half of the staff was great the other half needs on their customer service skills. I dreaded going back to the hotel every night to sleep. Definitely will not recommend. Bed was not comfortable but that can be subjective.

I had to make a business trip, from Harrisburg, PA to Pittsburgh, PA. I had previously stayed at this particular hotel several years ago, and had a great experience. I re-booked, and checked in on October 28 late afternoon. When I opened the door, I was hit with a smell of stale liquid human waste. There was no toilet paper in the room. There was an empty pump bottle of body wash in the shower. I thought the room was a little musty, so I opened the window and then went to dinner. When I returned, the air was definitely fresher, but the underlying liquid waste smell was still there, especially since I was sitting in the bed watching TV and would get periodic whiffs of liquid waste. I finally decided to do some cleaning around the bed, and got a soapy washcloth and began cleaning the headboard. A yellowish residue stained the washcloth. I recleaned the headboard a second time. I then pulled the bed out from the wall. There was a pile of filth (bugs, hairs, dust and grime) against the baseboard, including a pair of women's underwear, which I promptly put in the trash. I again scrubbed the floor and wall adjacent to the bed. When I scrubbed down the open drawer within the nightstand, the washcloth again had yellow stains on it. I scrubbed it a second time. I BELIEVE THIS ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED FROM THE PREVIOUS GUESTS -or- series of guests. The next morning, I tried making coffee using the Keurig in the room, but the machine did not work. I then walked into the bathroom and it smelled like 1000 elephants had left solid waste in the toilet bowl. The bowl reeked to high heaven. I took a closer look at the bowl, which appeared to be bubbling up some sewage gas from the pipes. It was clear that NO ONE had scrubbed under the rim for ages. It was a horrifying mess. I then went downstairs and told the concierge what had happened. She was very apologetic and kept shaking her head. I told her I would not be staying in the hotel for a second night and asked for the GM to contact me. A woman called me later in the morning (not the GM), was again very apologetic and asked what she could do to remedy the situation. I stated that I was cutting my trip short. This was the most vile experience I have ever had in any hotel ever. Needless to say I will not be staying there again.

Yelp
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING SERVICE AND STAFF. I came to Pittsburgh for a wedding and ended up at this hotel because my travel partner booked the wrong hotel location (there are two hotel indigos in Pittsburgh). We ended up being 20 minutes driving from the venue instead of 10 minutes walking distance. I was already in a pretty terrible mood. Then, we landed and came in contact with the cyber security issue and everyone's systems were down. This could've made this hotel staff in a bitter mood dealing with angry guests. Instead, they were the NICEST people I have ever come in contact with in a hotel environment; so understanding, helpful, kind, and patient. The room was extremely simple; there is no microwave, no mini fridge, so do not expect to have leftovers for the next day. Breakfast is also not included with the room, which was a bummer. Because of the lack of amenities, this hotel receives 4 stars. We called for support from the front desk twice because our TV was being finicky and we were short on towels (cyber security made us extend our stay, which again, the staff were SO helpful with) and someone was up to our room in less than 5 minutes with help, what we needed, and a smile. The same staff were there my whole stay and were so personable when we arrived and left every time. A couple times, I even made mistakes with checking in or out, asking silly questions, etc. and they never made me feel at fault. If you're in Pittsburgh for a short time and want a place that's away from the crowds, this is a great option!

Yelp
To summarize: the salesperson who booked us for the governors suite for our wedding failed to actually put in our reservation, and we only found out that that suite had already had been booked by another couple because I kept asking the hotel about it. As a result of their mistake, our suite was downgraded for our wedding night. We toured the venue in late February/early March to find a hotel to use for our room block for guests, and also for a getting-ready suite for my wife and I. Kelsey gave us a tour of the governors suite, which is lovely, and we signed a contract to reserve that suite for the nights of September 19 and 20, so we would have it from the night before our wedding till the morning after. At the beginning of August, Kelsey emailed to see if any of our guests needed help with booking for the room block. I told her that no, the guests were fine, but by that point I realized we had not received a confirmation number for our suite. I replied to her email asking her to send me a confirmation number for our reservation, as well as an estimate for how much our stay would cost with taxes and everything included. She never responded. On September 5th, a little over two weeks before the wedding, I tried to call Kelsey again to get the information I had requested. She was away from her desk, but when I called the reservations department, they informed me that we had never had a reservation for those dates. When I eventually reached Kelsey by email, she did not tell me what had happened, but copied her supervisor/the sales director Robin on the email thread. Robin informed me that the governors suite had in fact been booked for Sept 20 since January, which Kelsey had apparently not known when she gave us the tour and sent over the contract for us to sign. Robin was able to book the governors suite for us for Sept 19, but we had to downgrade to a regular king suite for our wedding night, meaning we had to take time in the middle of getting ready for our wedding to move our things to the new room. The governor's suite was quite nice, and I wish we had been able to stay there for both nights. They did only include one coffee cup in the room (when we are, clearly, 2 people), but they left a gift (a cutting board engraved with our names) and a mini bottle of champagne for us. While checking out of the governors suite and into the new one, they tried to charge us an additional $100 deposit for "incidentals" for the new room, in spite of the fact that we were only moving rooms in the first place due to their mistake. The downgraded suite for our wedding night was a decent room, but when we checked in, the sheets already had what looked like blood stains on both the top sheet and the fitted sheet. The valet parking is supposedly optional, but there is very little street parking anywhere nearby. Valet parking is $32/night. This extra charge was not mentioned anywhere on their website or when we were given the initial tour before booking. Robin did agree to a discount on both nights' rates, but quite frankly, I feel that at least the second night (if not the full stay) should have been entirely comped due to the inconvenience & the fact that no one at the hotel caught this error or communicated it to us until I brought it up. It seems to me that if I had not kept bothering them about it, we could very well have showed up the night before our wedding and had nowhere to stay. One star is generous - if I could give negative stars, I would. Stay at any other hotel you can possibly find.

Yelp
We selected Indigo partly because of the brand and partly due to location. The operation seemed disorganized, and maid service was offered only every 5 days. One of the joys of staying at a hotel is coming into a room where I'm not the one who has had to make the bed! In addition, the valet price charged was higher than their website stated and neither the valet service nor the hotel chain was willing to make it right. Disappointing.

Yelp
I've been here several times for a variety of events and it's always been a pleasure. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The event rooms are clean and well setup. The catering is always fresh and tasty.

Yelp
The upside: the customer service rep at check in was super friendly and helpful. I also noticed later as we were walking through the lobby that she was singing and that was really nice for the atmosphere. This hotel is decorated well, I'll give you that. The rooms are laid out very well & our mattress was clean and comfortable. However the sofa in the main lobby is so stained and dirty that I opted not to sit on it, and the grout in our shower was in drastic need of being removed and replaced. Honestly it's things like this that totally gross me out & make me wonder what else is being not done properly. But they're also small enough where I'm not going to stop & complain about them. We also had a bottle expired half and half in our fridge, which needed to be wiped out, so that pretty much told me no one had attended to that. Again it makes you wonder what else they're skipping. The worst thing about this hotel is that you have a choice of valet or hard to find street parking, which is weird because the valet looks to be in a private lot, but is apparently a separate company. We don't love valet (not because of the cost but because I don't like people driving my car). May I add the valet attendant was super nice & gave us great service. I just feel like there can be a better solution for this even if there is an extra charge. Overall our experience was ok. Based on the grungy shower we probably won't be back.

Yelp
Hotel Indigo has so much charm. Love to see how the decor provides a modern feel with industrial vibe showing from the past. The hotels are well placed in the city with great staff. This East Liberty location had a few food spots nearby and close to the college campuses. There is a valet. Parking is $25 per night. You pull up to the valet and provide a card for you to leave in the vehicle until you checkout. Valet stand is always manned. I don't know about parking not using the valet. Check-in was a simple process. Cards were ready with the welcome letter attached. I was provided a list of nearby restaurant suggestions in case I didn't want to dine in the hotel. There is a normal $100 hold on credit card for any incidentals. FYI, it dropped the day after I checked out. Some places it takes several days. The room was clean and spacious. We had a small fridge and Keurig coffee maker with decaf coffee. Wish they had tea. I had to get ice from the restaurant as there was not an ice machine I could locate. The other Hotel Indigo had black out curtains, which this one did not. I was looking forward to those because they helped me sleep. Wallace's Whiskey Room is the restaurant inside the hotel. Being a KY girl, I had to order an old fashioned at the Whiskey room. The drink was solid. We got food to avoid going out. My son said chicken Alfredo was decent. My fries were hot and seasoned. The steak was okay. I wish it was prepared differently but did the job since I was hungry. Broccoli was al dente with seasoning sprinkled on top. My friend had salmon, which she said was alright. They had a few top whiskey selections. Definitely go for that. Open daily 5pm to 10pm except Sundays. There is no room service, so go down place order and take to room. There was an area in the lobby to buy any personal items you may have left, along with drinks and snacks. I will say the other Hotel Indigo location had a larger store area like this. The prices were also not as high as this one. Just to give comparison. The staff was friendly and helpful. Every shift was happy and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. No issues on my visit. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I stayed here recently and I ended up coming back to stay a couple of extra nights because the EVEN Hotel screwed up my reservation at their downtown location and they didn't even call me back so I canceled and received a refund weeks later. Smdh! I can't say enough about this place and especially the employees. Gem who is a valet attendant is my guy. What up Gem??? I told you I'd shout you out my brother. I hope your schooling is going great. Thanks for being so cool. Sorry it took longer than expected to leave a review due to being so busy with work. TBH: The whole valet staff was amazing. They made me laugh a lot and were super friendly and they truly went out of their way to be kind and helpful. The front desk staff was on their A+ game too. One woman in particular but I forget her name, Dang it! They were super nice and helpful upon my initial check in and also my extended stay and even more so when I came back late one night after the incident at the EVEN Hotel. They upgraded my room and gave me a discount to say F U to the EVEN Hotel. Haha! They also recommended a restaurant that I'd never been to that I loved. Thanks again :) The rooms are super spacious and decorated nicely. The beds are comfy and whole vibe is chill. The views I had in my room were great as well. They also have a nice bar area and restaurant but the bar was closed due to new ownership and the alcohol license being transferred. East Liberty has changed so much over the years and I'm here for all of the positivity the community is enacting. Change is good. Stay up! I'll be back soon and I can't wait to be welcomed back with a smile. Highly Recommended :D

Yelp
Fine place. Nice showers. Housekeeping is super aggressive and will pound ceaselessly on your door in the morning even if you have the do not disturb sign out

Kelli H.

Yelp
Not the greatest parking situation but price is reasonable breakfast does cost money in addition to your nightly rate

Gus L.

Yelp
Hotel Indigo seems to have lost its way. It was our first time staying here. But you can tell they are trying to give off a modern, boutique vibe. It just doesn't work. Our room had so many things that needed repair. Our door had loose hinges, making it difficult to close and open the door. The translucent window shade did not work, could not get it to stay up. Towel rack and TP holder were loose. Shower door was crooked and wouldn't close. Shower sprayer was broken and hanging loose. Very low water pressure in the shower and a very slow draining sink. It just surprises me how they can charge so much and not do maintenance on the room. With that said, it was not a bad experience overall. The room was spacious, with plenty of lighting. Many areas to set down and open your luggage. They have a well placed courtesy curtain between the door the rest of the room. The best part of our experience was all of the staff. These were very friendly and kind people. Made us feel welcomed. The last thing that was frustrating, was the hotel bar. It appeared to me the bartender - who was a dynamo serving drinks as fast as she could - had not been formally trained with mixing cocktails or knowing the various types of wine. Our old fashioned's came without ice, sugar or bitters. The Pinot Noir we ordered was served as a Pinot Grigio. Most likely should we visit this area again, probably would not stay at this hotel.

Yelp
5 stars The best kept secret Hotel in Pittsburgh, East Liberty - ShadySide. From the time you check into the Indigo Hotel, your senses are aroused with a beautiful clean smell. Each staff member greets you with a smile, as if you're the best friend they missed. SUPER CLEAN ROOMS & LOBBY. Without fail, the aroma of fresh brewed coffee is ready for you every morning. PARKING MADE EASY, as the staff is ready to accommodate your every need. The Indigo Hotel is a must stay while in Pittsburgh. The rooms are perfectly decorated with all the amenities and soundproof. Centerally located in the city, the Indigo is truly a 10 STAR.

Yelp
I highly recommend booking any other hotel. I chose this hotel due to the aesthetically pleasing photos online and because it was only $50/night more costly than the other hotel in the same area and I wanted more amenities. I played myself. I checked in online the day prior, my room and security deposit had been taken care of. I enter the hotel, there were 2 desks- front desk for regular check-in and another for digital check-in key pickup. There was someone at the regular check-in, another guest behind them and then me. I went to the digital check-in desk and wasn't even acknowledged. I wait and wait and wait, as she took care of the other 2 guests from start to finish when ALL I needed was my key and room assignment. When I was finally acknowledged, the front desk associate said, "oh you're already checked in" and handed me my key. End of transaction. No welcome, No thank you for being a rewards member or any talk of the amenities offered. We get to our door, I used the key 3x and the light lit up but I wasn't able to get in. Finally, my bf pushed the door while the indicator was green and the door was just stuck/broken. At that point, we should have left. The room is pretty, decorated well. There are zero amenities though. There's a coffee maker, a rain shower head and a TV. All of which are present at any hotel. The keurig is a single cup coffee maker, this doesn't excite me. The shower head has exceptionally poor pressure. If you use the handheld device, it will flood. Pictures below to support this statement. The TV, smh, is so old. The TV has no streaming capabilities. Is not a smart tv. We were looking forward to watching a movie or catching up on our shows. Couldn't do that. So we went to target to buy a firestick. We get back, took forever bc the TV kept timing out and shutting off. We finally get it programmed and there's no sound. Seriously?! The bed was broken, I sat down on the end and the opposite end shot up and it felt like I was on a see saw. I called the front desk to report this but it was 11:30 PM & their solution was to move us. I was tired. So, she offered to give us complimentary breakfast in the morning. May I also note that I said I just want to make sure I'm not charged and the way the convo went made me feel like they were aware that this bed was broken. The kicker here, we pack up, go to check out and see that the breakfast isn't set up. We ask when it starts and were informed that the chef didn't show up. So our free breakfast for our inconvenience wasn't even available. Icing on the cake for such an underwhelming experience. The hotel is completely bare bones. There is nothing that would invite me back or interest me in ever staying there again. For the cost, stay literally anywhere else. I can't even believe this is an IHG hotel, how misaligned with the brand. It was completely not worth the money or the headache. The management company reached out to me and refunded me but my review stands.

Yelp
Dirty shower and bathrooms Pizza box in the freezer Cheap pillows and blankets Quiet rooms Direct TV Keurig Black out curtains Quick elevators No free breakfast Expensive valet with no self parking options on the weekend. No lotion. Decent bar. Not up to par to other hotel indigo's that we have

Jessica L.

Yelp
Our check in process was quick and the receptionist was very friendly and apologized that valet was only on weekends - through the booking I used, it did not specify. The room was cute and was pretty spotless! The shower was pretty huge and actually has two shower heads to choose from. The room also includes a curtain to separate the view of the bathroom from the whole room. Very happy with my stay!

J P.

Yelp
We had a 5 day stay for a wedding. When my wife booked it, we were told there were 2 queens and an accessible bath with a roll in shower. What we found was 1 bed in what was otherwise a great, large room for my wheelchair. The hotel really apologized and got us a cot. The next day, they completely comped the room next door for our entire stay and gave us breakfast coupons. Customer service is very good here. Hotel is in a great location for our event and we found the breakfast to be way better than your average hotel bfast fare. Scrambled eggs and the pancakes were stars. Def stay here again.

Lauren W.

Yelp
3.5 stars. My husband and I chose hotel indigo for our honeymoon weekend since most of the world is still closed down and, overall, had an enjoyable stay. The pros: the place was super clean, and the rooms were serviced (upon request) each night and made spotless, they also only charged us $6 for three nights worth of parking in their lot since valet was not available The cons: we booked a package with breakfast and were not told until arrival that the restaurant was closed, the same situation occurred for valet parking, additionally they turned off the ice machines on each of the floors, and staff was only moderately friendly. The entrance is hard to find and we had some issues getting food delivered because of it. Normally this would have been a solid "3" but under the circumstances, I wouldn't judge too harshly. However, more than likely, would not stay here again

Kerri S.

Yelp
Stayed for a weekend for a cousins wedding. Our whole family stayed in the hotel. It is very nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only concern would for the housekeeping to ensure all rooms have all supplies stocked and ready for the next customer and to ensure all rooms have the same supplies. Our mini-fridge was left slightly ajar upon arrival and there was a puddle in the middle of the room (we arrived late, were tired and didn't want to wait for staff to either clean it up or move us) so we just cleaned it up. We only had 1 hand towel, one bar of soap, no tea bags and only one cup. Upon seeing our families' rooms as we were leaving I noticed they had full stock of tea bags and cups. We did ask front staff for towels and soap and received them right away.

Allen W.

Yelp
The Indigo hotel was simply amazing. My parents came in for a quick trip to visit me for family weekend at the University of Pittsburgh. The hotel was very clean. They provide you free coffee in the morning. The Shadyside/East Liberty seemed to be the perfect location. The rooms were pretty large. The beds and pillows were comfortable and it's in a walkable area nearby various shops and dining's. The front desk staff was also pretty amazing !

Bob M.

Yelp
Please be careful if using your debit card here. I've been scammed and it continues. My overnight stay was lovely, but I was charged twice for the room and valet. No one from management can explain the confusion, nor give any explanation or refund. I had to dispute the charges. I was told to file a criminal complaint. Just be careful with payment here.

Sheila B.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed the past weekend and are very satisfied with our stay. Our room was a very spacious double bed room with an amazing bathroom. The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, bathroom was spotless. The room temperature was a bit on the warm side, but we managed. We loved the big open shower with the waterfall showerhead, however, the water couldn't maintain a steady temperature and got incredibly hot at some points. The hotel restuarant was fantastic. Our server, John, was helpful, friendly and very pleasant. Meals came out in a timely manner and tasted wonderful. We also popped into the bar and the bartender was equally amazing. They did feature a live piano player which was a nice change from a jukebox or band. Try the deviled eggs! Worth every penny! The only downside was the $20 parking/valet fee, luckily we knew ahead of time there would be a fee, a few other evening guests seemed to be surprised by the lack of parking. The front desk women were wonderful at check in and check out as well, very well spoken and kind! We would love to stay here again soon!

Yelp
Thoroughly pleased with my 3 night stay at Hotel Indigo East Liberty . Wonderful convenient location , walk to everything! Staff was friendly and professional. I mainly dealt with a nice young woman Jen . I actually left a package there and she made sure it was sent FedEx to me in Florida . Bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Room was clean , bed and sheets were comfortable . Bathroom and shower were great . I'll definitely be staying there again , next time I visit one of my favorite cities ! Pittsburg!!!

Yelp
A bit torn here. I think if I had stayed over a less hectic weekend, I could easily envision another star. Instead, I was here over Carnegie Mellon graduation and they were clearly overwhelmed. First of all, the room was beautiful. Modern and well appointed with a huge shower complete with waterfall rain head and hand held wand. What I wasn't crazy about was the view which, especially when paying well over $350 night surge rate, should have been explained. Our panoramic window revealed a brick wall and a large A/C duct. Was almost laughable. Okay, I actually did laugh. No big deal. Rest of the hotel was modern, clean, well appointed and visually striking. What was a big deal was that the restaurant, bar and valet staff were over stressed and service floundered. Everything from getting our car from the valet ($25/night) to getting a drink was tedious and that's putting it kindly. I understand a hotel's practice of jacking rates through the ceiling during the busiest times. This is to be expected. But along with the bump in price, needs to be a bump in service and clearly, last weekend it just wasn't there. Also, worth mentioning, is the crater sized pothole directly in front of the driveway that I needed to navigate my M6 through in order to avoid literally destroying the car's wheels and suspension. I don't know if it's the hotel's road or if it belongs to the city but, for God's sake, fix the damn thing. It's dangerous and an eyesore. None of this, however, would prevent me from staying there again as nothing was all that egregious. It was more like inconvenience which, as aforementioned, shouldn't have been a issue considering how much I was paying for the weekend ($627 just for room and parking for 2 nights). It's certainly a few steps above the local Hampton Inn and the plethora of other chains in the area.

Yelp
Visiting for work and wanted to stay in a walkable area. This is a good location with a several bars, restaurants and a Whole Foods within close proximity but the property itself isn't great. The rooms are very basic and run down: Older beds, broken blinds, and minimalist furnishings. I work from the hotel while traveling and the room just wasn't amicable to being comfortable and productive. There is a restaurant and bar on the first floor. Both were totally dead during the week. Breakfast is nothing special. I ended up checking out early and moving to a Marriott property in Oakland and it's much, much nicer.

Yelp
Great spot to stay for a night while on a road trip from WI to DC. We had a lot of criteria for a hotel and needed a place that's toddler friendly, pet friendly, and had electric vehicle charging nearby. This location met all three. Chargers are available a within a 5-10 min walk in Bakery Square. The staff here was excellent and super friendly our entire stay. We were able the get a room upgrade that gave a bit extra space for the toddler and dogs to sleep. The rooms and lobby are stunning and beautifully designed. We felt safe the entire time with their Covid precautions. Rooms are kept empty for 48 hours between stays. The surrounding neighborhood is super hip and interesting too. Too bad Covid meant that we couldn't really explore it too much.

Yelp
I've found a new Shadyside/East Liberty favorite! To be honest, we usually go to the hip Ace Hotel but they were full. Wanting to stay within the same area, we booked into Hotel Indigo which was actually cheaper. Boy, am I impressed! Rooms are pretty large, beds are very comfortable with soft linens and four pillows on each bed. The bathroom is large with such a generous vanity area that my husband and I could lay out our toiletries with room to spare. A fancy enormous walk-in shower with rain head and handheld spray, hot water, Aveda soaps and lotions, hair dryer, make for a luxurious bath. Oh, and I've never seen so many fluffy towels. We chose to have breakfast included in our hotel room rate and it is well worth it. Not only for the convenience but also because they serve a real sit down, made to order meal. I was expecting a buffet. Their breakfast was a delicious yummy surprise. The hostess and our server made you felt welcomed and couldn't have been nicer. I can highly recommend Hotel Indigo. Like many folks with a child in the nearby colleges, we regularly come to the Burgh. We're definitely coming back to the Hotel Indigo. Not as sexy as the Ace but Hotel Indigo is very good value for the money and downright comfortable.

Yelp
I booked this hotel to get away. All I wanted was a nice room, a tub and mind numbing TV for a night. While the hotel is aesthetically pleasing, the room is just a room. There's nothing special about it. Sure it's a nice size and the shower is amazing. But that's not what I came here for. I prepared for my momcation by purchasing wine, bubble bath and bringing my fluffy slippers and robe. There's no mini fridge to chill my wine or to store my left over food. Again...THERES NO TUB! I had to call the front desk to get a remote for the TV. The little coffee stand doesn't have stirrers or spoons. This is a momcation fail

Yelp
This location was convenient and it is in an area that is having a rebirth. There is tremendous investment in this section of the city and as such it is what I would consider on the verge of transformation. I have never stayed at an Indigo and saw the pictures and thought it would be cool. It has a great vibe and love that such a great investment was made in this section of the city. The staff was great and the hotel is nice however what left me most disappointed was that an Executive Suite is just a large 2 bed room w/a couch. Do not be fooled by "suite" shop price instead. What had me most disappointed, for a new hotel, maintenance...the bathroom in this Executive Suite, again, just a two bed room which was large but NOT an Executive Suite no matter how one spins it. The bathroom shower floor had side wall tiles missing and appeared that the hotel cleaning staff do not own Clorox to remove the mold/discoloration growing between the tiles near the shower floor. As well, the faux wood floors needed a good mopping and it would have been so nice to have a clean work area as there were sticky rings left on top of the work area from dirty glass bottoms and a drawer front to clearly dirty/sticky that it is hard to believe someone did not clean it. So, if you are looking for a great deal in a convenient location with friendly staff then this is the place for you. Just realize the cleanliness experienced at a higher end hotel will not be the same experience, I find it unfortunate because price per night should not dictate cleanliness but it appears it does. Lastly, I am hopeful this hotel takes the appropriate steps to remediate these issues. It would be awesome for this hotel to be destination that travelers will want to return to, helping to grow the local economy.

Yelp
I enjoyed my quick stay here! The interior of this hotel was very clean and had a modern hipster vibe to it. The surrounding area didn't give the safest feeling at night but I know that east liberty is on the up and up these days and it felt fine during the day! The restaurant in this hotel was also pretty good and convenient!

Yelp
Hotel Indigo is all about being cool. There are no city maps available because that is not cool. There is no parking garage or parking lot because that is not cool. There is no free breakfast buffet because that is not cool. The elevator, common areas and room décor is all about glam and being cool. I could see how I would have loved to go there at some specific occasions in my life. The hotel is in the gentrified area of the city and it is in good shape. The bottom line is that a hotel should provide you with the quality temperature and sound levels to facilitate rest. Indigo did that hence that is what counts the most, not the mistakes by reception or missing items for the room coffee. I got a good rest there and I appreciate that.

Yelp
2.5 stars for this Hotel. It was fine for a quick overnight stay-no biggie.

Yelp
Great experience staying at this hotel for a wedding! Two things that really set this place ahead of other hotels. First, All the rooms had a cool aesthetic and were very spacious. Second, the service was top notch. The front desk was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying at this chain in the future!

Yelp
I can say that I am very disappointed with Hotel Indigo as I've favored Kimpton Hotels in the past. However, the customer service was fantastic and the people in Pittsburg are just generally friendly. The hotel is nestled in East Liberty which is full of history and also vacancy within its shops. The hotel is actually quite stunning, having a distinct Pittsburg feel with its live music from the adjoining restaurant as well as the hotel decor. What it lacks from the other Kimpton properties is more options for food and drinks. The hotel room was beautiful! Sleek modern style with tile/wood flooring. Our rooms was a double queen facing the main entrance. We were in the second floor and arrived on a night they had live music. The music was vibrating throughout our room as we were in the second floor. We would have enjoyed it except we came in a bit late and had two restless kids with us so the music was too much of a distraction. Luckily, the music ended around 9:30. The bathroom has a large vanity and is fairly a big size. There weren't nearly enough towels for the four of us so we ended up reusing the big ones the very first night. The room is spacious, big windows and a long floating shelf with a small TV. The floating shelf was pretty iffy though and we were afraid to put a lot of items in it. The room also came with no bathtub but a really large rainfall type shower head and also a handheld. However, you can't use both at the same time which would have been super handy with the kiddos. There was a mini fridge and a mini coffee station with bottles of water. Here's the kicker though and why it only gets three stars... the queen beds were worst than sleeping in the floor!! Throughout the night, I found whichever side I was sleeping in to ache and cause me to wake up to shift. The next morning, I felt like a sacked QB who couldn't get out of the pocket. I was super annoyed and disappointed that we spent over $650 one two nights and the beds were just terrible. If I had an opportunity to stay here for free in the future, I would not come back.

Yelp
Mold in shower, they do not clean your room or provide clean towels and the shampoo and conditioner bottles are not large enough for 2 guests - all for $350 a night - what a deal.

Yelp
Great hotel in a very convenient location walkable to Whole Foods, Google, Target, etc. Looks like a new hotel, with boutique/hip elements but not exorbitant prices. Large rooms with character, extra spacious shower. Friendly service. Noticed some Google folks stay here too. Way more personality than the nearby Springhill Suites. A couple adjacent blocks have dollar stores and check cashers; the main adjacent block has a large Presbyterian church on Highland Ave.

Yelp
Pros: This place is in a great place! It's in an area that is walking distance to Target, CVS and lots of restaurants. This neighborhood is currently being developed so it's not like staying in Shadyside or some of the nicer parts but it's safe. The staff in incredibly friendly & the decor is so awesome & modern. The entire hotel is super clean. Con: I only have 1--the shower. I think that my room is being remodeled and they are almost done but didn't want to miss out on money so; they allowed the room to be occupied. My shower floor was covered with mildew--it's gross. I have shower shoes; so I braved it & I had already unpacked and It was late so I stayed in the room. I will stay here again BUT only after I check to see if the shower floor is covered in mildew lol. I'll post pictures so you can decide what's best for yo

Yelp
I would avoid this hotel at all costs. It looks amazing online, but it's the opposite in person. The front desk staff is incompetent and never answers the phone when you call. The valet guy is extremely rude and not personable at all. This hotel has absolutely no views. Mine was into a ghetto alley where I was woken up every night at 2AM from trucks unloaded things and then again in the AM by people screaming and cussing outside. My room smelled disgusting and was not cleaned at all, especially the shower.. it was nasty. The maintenance and housekeeping apparently just walks into anyone's room at any time, because I was sitting on my bed and all of a sudden this old man just walks right in... then says "wrong room" and left. I will not be back!

Yelp
I guess I am at Meh. I could see how the other reviews are quite possible, from the nice views and nice people (met some), to awkward spaces and awkward people (saw and met some). I would not stay here again unless I had to. It is not close to my ambit in Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Shadeyside. There were hairs on both sides of the king bed (not close our shade or length!), *under* the covers. The showers are cool, but are impossibly big, like 8' x 10' in one room, which means they don't really warm up very well. Central reservations continue to go downhill for us, perhaps uphill for IHG. The woman who made our reservation encouraged me to provide my number 'to get member rates', which were no better and a waste of time. Wherever she was, she did not tell me about parking being $20/day. The rates were }} larger than Google predicted (for the same day, but perhaps that is google's fault). Check in wanted both an ID (I think this is outside of AmX terms), and a $50 deposit (who do they have staying here?) for 'incidentals'. Some devices could not connect to their (new?) wifi, others could. We did snag a parking spot on the street. Did get a free upgrade to basically the same room, just more cavernous. Did get a free drink which was not too bad. The restaurant looked cool and had interesting food. so, could go back, just don't wanna. there are closer, and I don't travel there during busy periods, at least typically. Note to self: It is not worth the IHG points.

Yelp
This is the second Hotel Indigo I've stayed at this month. I thought the first was maybe a fluke. This hotel chain is a holiday inn masquerading as a nice hotel. Housekeeping: absent. They cleaned nothing, made no beds. Staff: kind, but very sloppy. Smells: horrible. The shower is full of mildew and all of the repair work in the rooms is super shoddy. Bottom line: skip Indigo and either stay at a holiday inn express and love it for what it is or move on to another hotel.

Dan F.

Yelp
Really great hotel. Very clean. Free coffee in the AM from 6-11am. Rooms are very nice, hardwood floors. Bathroom is spacious and shower is huge!! Parking on the street is possible for free but hotel has valet if you'd prefer. Wed definitely stay again!!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of attending an event at this amazing hotel and let me just say, it exceeded my expectations. I have never been much of a "hotel snob" but this place surely set the bar high. They had me at "dog friendly" although the rest of the evening just got better and better. But yes, you can bring your dog, to the bar, like yes, inside and have a drink with you. Um, awesome! There is a rich history enveloped by the hotel's ambiance and you can really tell the folks here are proud of what they have done with the place. The culture embedded in all of the tiny details really blew me away. Chef Jose and the Wallace Tap Room really blew it out of the water. His attention to detail was spot on, including many themes from the Prohibition era that I never would have thought of. Our cocktails were heavenly and refreshing and the fare was delightful. I especially recommend the strawberry French toast and Pittsburgh fries. The rooms were stunning. If you have a chance to book the General's room please do. I could live there. I couldn't stop staring at the details such as the cinematic wall paper and gorgeous pillows. I will definitely make the Taproom a staple in my social life! PS- Definitely check out their exclusive blend of Zeke's coffee. Best cup of coffee I have had in a really looong time.

Yelp
I attend the Yelp Pittsburgh Makers and Bakers event. The hotel is located right in the main part of East Liberty. It is in walking distance to many restaurants. I didn't see the rooms but the event space was spacious and was able to hold this large event well. The decor is new and fresh. Check out their restaurant on the first floor. Really good food.

Yelp
Baffled by any good reviews of this place. It's definitely one of the cheaper stays in town, but for good reason. On our first visit, the shower came out of the wall once we turned it on. We chalked it up to a freak incident, and stayed here again on our second trip. This time, the towel bar fell out of the wall when we grabbed a towel from it, and the bathroom tiles slipped under our feet since there was no grout. These types of issues are *always* anxiety-inducing at a hotel since they take a deposit for each room -- with the room is falling apart, I felt like I had to call to alert them to every issue to avoid being charged. The last thing I'll note is that they don't have blackout curtains and some of the rooms, especially on the lower level, can be quite noisy due to street traffic. Our last stay was definitely our last stay!

Yelp
What can I say about this hotel to give you an idea about how awesome it actually is? I love hotels and love to see what they have to offer. I'm a major fan of boutique hotels and have enjoyed my stays at the Hotel Monaco (more downtown and swanky). However, there is something different about Hotel Indigo. Hotel indigo is a vibrant and down to earth property. The decor is gorgeous for a romantic stay-cation and comfy and casual for a long stay. The rooms are spacious for the area and the neighborhood has a lot to offer (if you know where to look). However, don't worry! Patrick and Veronica at the front desk can point you in the right direction. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for his birthday (we're both local to Pittsburgh). We were warmly welcomed by the 2 lovely people earlier mentioned. They were so accommodating and the management (Jordan Bartels) along with the front desk helped me surprise my husband with his Birthday gift by placing it in our room before check in. Who does that? Amazing. After we got to our room, Patrick brought my husband a mason jar of nostalgic candy and a birthday balloon! Stephanie was our server at Wallace's taproom who was sweet and helpful. We had delicious cocktails at the bar made by a bubbly and talented bartender named Cat. Then to top it off, the bar manager Ashley chatted with us for a while and made us feel like home. To top off our stay, we slept comfortably in our soft bed and never heard a peep from the hustle and bustle of East Liberty. To sum up my review for this hotel, all I really need to say is , "When can I stay again?"

Yelp
I've enjoyed both experiences I've had at Hotel Indigo. First was my wedding weekend - the staff was very helpful and friendly. Behind their desk the post the HRC symbol, which is a welcoming sign in the LGBTQ community. The common spaces include an outdoor patio / firepit that the staff was willing to reserve for us and light when we were ready. The bar area is spacious and modern. The rooms are spacious and were reasonably priced for the block we reserved. A note for travelers, we have discovered only some of the rooms have mini-refrigerators (or at least this was the case the last time we were there). We hadn't thought to ask if our space would include one, so unfortunately on our second stay we didn't have access to one. Not as bad, since it was only one night - but if we return, we'll likely ask for one with the fridge.

Yelp
Due to a miscommunication my fiance and I ended up unexpectantly staying here. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The lobby smelled gorgeous, I couldn't pin point where the nice aroma was coming from but it was some sort of freshener/perfume. It was lovely. Our hotel room was very spacious and ample. The beds and the pillows were to die for. I swear I gotta an amazing nights sleep which hasn't been my case since wedding planning. Perhaps it had to do with me insisting I sleep in the additional bed so we could both "sprawl out like animals". The accommodations were more than sufficient and I really appreciated the easy access to ice machines, vending machines, and water. The shower was marvelous and the free toiletries they provided were Aveda brand which was rad. Definitely a hotel I would recommend to anyone from out of town wanting to stay in the east end area.

Yelp
I paid 237 for two nights plus parking. A bit steep. Explain to me how online it's 89 a night plus fees would equal 237? As you can see in the pictures below, In a current pandemic they can't even seem to clean their sheets properly. Disappointed.

Yelp
All the hotels in the area were booked for the Steelers game and it was looking like a lost cause until I found this gem! Recently opened this week-- this is literally 2 blocks away from my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh (Spoon and BRGR). They still are not 100% open yet-- as the gym is still under construction but they'll take you to the gym down the street. Staff is very attentive and customer focused. Decor is beautiful and very colorful! In my room, there was a zebra rug and a lamp that I initially thought was a telescope. Very beautiful rooms! Entire property is non-smoking as well. Make sure to check out the lobby floor as it has the three rivers depicted on the floor. For those visiting Pittsburgh, they have an interactive map with places to eat and visit :)

Yelp
Let me start by saying that this hotel is very classy, nice, clean and well run. The hotel on its own is worth 5 stars but with my experience I was tempted to go with a 1 star review. I booked this hotel through HotelTonight and it was suppose to be for 4 people. When I checked in there was no mention of the amount of people or type of room. I opened the door to our hotel room to find only 1 bed. I brought the mistake up to the front desk staff (multiple people and a manager) but there was nothing they could do. They continuously blamed the partner site for the error - which as accurate as it may be, there was no apology or sympathy for the situation which made matters worse. I asked about switching rooms or buying an additional room since 4 of us could not fit in the room, to which they couldn't help with the hotel being sold out. Again, I can understand that this isn't there fault but there was still ZERO apologizes and no sympathy for the situation at all. I tried to make it work and asked for a cot and this hotel apparently doesn't have any cots at all... not one. As nice as the hotel itself was, I cannot get passed the fact there was nothing done for my situation, no solution, not care In the world that my group needs to now figure this situation out. When I asked if I could get refunded and go to another hotel with the space - they told me to reach out to the partner site. This customer service is 100% unacceptable in my opinion and for the most part I rarely come at anyone in the customer service industry, since I was a part of it for majority of my career but this experience was unbelievably ridiculous. Not even an apology. Again, the hotel is very nice and a great location but customer service wise for this situation was not acceptable.

Yelp
Very nice hotel! Staff very friendly. We will stay here again!! Walking distance to target. 3 min in the car.. I wish they offered more thn just coffee.. even a donut or pastries would of been nice in the morning..
