I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife on a long weekend get-a-way. The property is beautiful and the staff was very kind and accommodating. Location is just south of the main Del Mar downtown area, very easy walk into town. We actually never touched our car if we were staying in the Del Mar area. Tons of great shopping and amazing restaurants within walking distance. Close to the sea cliffs where you can watch a romantic sunset then be back in your room in 5 mins. Really great value for the quality of the room. Our room was very large with a huge bathroom and a large shower. All the decor was beachy modern... and it felt like it should be way more expensive than what we paid. Would stay here in a min... If my room had a kitchen I don't think we would have gone home! Thank you to all the staff... you guys are amazing!

Google
Friends recommended Hotel Indigo Del Mar and we are so glad we stayed there. The hotel is within walking distance of multiple restaurants and the beach. Our room was quiet, comfortable and spacious. The neighborhood is cute and extremely safe, with lots to do nearby. We felt comfortable walking home from a restaurant after dark. We really enjoyed being able to see the ocean from our room. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. We hope to stay here again next time we're in the area.

Love this place. Big shout out to Santana at the restaurant. He is really cool, awesome and takes care of his customers in a very friendly and hospitable way. As for the hotel, we have stayed here twice now. The pool has 10 ft section, which you can practice if you want to learn how to float. The place is very clean and safe. Employees here are friendly and amazing. My wife and I would love to stay here again and again

We were met with the best receptionist, Barbara, who has worked there for 23 years. She is so pleasant and accomodating. We also met her 2 years ago when we stayed there also. The room was fabulous with a balcony and could see the later. It was very quiet and parking was abundant. The only issue we had was the bartender on 12/4 in the evening. He was not very pleasant and did have good energy. Other than that the location is perfect and you can enjoy downtown very easily. A favorite of ours for a local getaway.

Once again, we were not disappointed in our stay at Hotel Indigo. Being away at Christmas time (in a hotel room) can be challenging, if home is where you want to be. We were genuinely welcomed back by front desk staff, each time we returned from a day trip, truly making it feel like home. We were treated like family, and Christmas felt good. Our room had a beautiful ocean view, was clean, and welcoming. The pool, in the courtyard, was crystal clear and inviting. Each lounge chair had a towel, and used ones were immediately taken away once vacated. There is an outdoor seating area, above the pool on the 2nd floor, with Adirondack chairs, cushioned sofas/chairs to take in the breathtaking view of the ocean. We had Christmas Eve cocktails, in the restaurant on site, where the dining room was decorated to the hilt with Christmas decorations. Breakfast was also great in this restaurant. We will be back, Hotel Indigo Del Mar, CA! Thanks for another great time.

We wanted to love this hotel. The location is really wonderful and quite close to the ocean. Barbara and Mia were very hospitable with welcoming smiles and a desire to please. We were very late arrivals due to a long driving day, so we could not take in the view or amenities; A comfortable night’s sleep was on our agenda. When we awoke, we immediately wanted to take in the ocean and sunshine. Unfortunately, the design of this property is pool-centric so all rooms faced by one of two pools. The result was a kind of fishbowl sensation. Raising the Roman shades felt invasive. The same charm of cliffside construction that most likely made this a top destination in decades past, became a deficit now as multi million dollar residences encroached on the views. Determined to try to make the most of our 4night stay, we navigated up and around multiple iron-gated staircases to the lobby level restaurant which was a respite. The breakfast was excellent and Ian, our server was delightful and attentive. Service is very good here but our family ultimately determined that we needed a less constrictive feel to the last leg of our California vacation, particularly since I have been suffering from vertigo. Upon hearing of our plan to check out, Barbara jumped into action to try to find a more comfortable solution for us. She offered accommodation on a higher floor which would have been better, but we declined. The property has a great deal of potential and is ideal for runners, cyclists, and physically fit. This review was difficult to write as we really appreciated Barbara’s efforts. It’s understandable why she has been passionate about the Indigo Del Mar for more than two decades.

What a unique stay in Delmar! Everything in Delmar is sunk down tucked away on a hillside like this hotel. If your lucky like us you will get an ocean view. Our room felt more like a studio apartment and had a vaulted ceiling that made it feel big. The walk to the room is interesting as the elevated outdoor walkways slope and wind around the rooms with trees that have grown in between. This hotel is also dog friendly! And it is easy to leave your room and hit the streets Delmar for a coffee or meal. Also there is a small baseball field near by that doubles as a dog park certain hours of the day. Overall of you want a dog friendly vacation this is your hotel and Delmar is that right city to enjoy. The Delmar Dog Beach is a short driver away.

Indigo Del Mar was the perfect spot for our trip. The staff is great and we were welcomed from the moment we arrived. We ate at the restaurant and the food and service were excellent. We liked to walk from the hotel into town (about 3/4 mi) and just a bit further to the beach (about 1 mile). The room was very comfortable and we had a nice view. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Such a beautiful bar with a view. This place does not get enough press. They have live music in the bar and their happy hour menu is insane. I mean the prices can't be beat. The only downside to it, is that tend to run out of stuff. And they don't really offer any proteins on that menu. The brussels are so good! Most of their drinks on hh are $9. House wines and beers. The regular menu has amazing food too. Their salmon is fantastic. The bartenders make some great Margaritas!

Yelp
Terrible service and secret room charges. Do not stay here. Front desk provided terrible customer service. Refused to add my travel companion's name to the reservation until I asked to speak to manager and explained I had added someone's name before. They gave me the runaround and kept putting me on hold for 30 minutes then hung up. During a previous family member's stay they added pet charges (there was no pet in the room ever) without notifying him. The quality of this place continues to diminish, which is unfortunate for us who live on Del Mar and like having family and friends stay nearby. Will be recommending other hotels from now on.

Yelp
I was here on business, well worth it to stay a couple minutes farther away to be near the shore. The hotel itself is tbh a converted beach motel / apartments, but done up with a boutique hotel vibe that takes it up a notch. I was in the second building- huge room with its own patio, which was awesome to just sit out on in the AM and PM. The location in Del Mar is also wonderful, a short-ish walk up to the restaurants and shops, and a jog in the other direction down to the beach. The only quirk of the exact location is that the rail track is in the way of getting quickly to the beach, you gotta go north or south.

Yelp
Soo ya sometimes you just need a place to crash for the night but honestly just keep driving. This super old and dated hotel has not only odd features but comes standard with paper thin walls and parking lot views. Such a substandard place... and I should have read the other reviews better. If this saves anyone a horrible night this review has done its job because a stay in the car may have been better. Yes we saved a few bucks .,.but at the cost of sleep I'm not convinced it was worth it.

Yelp
Santana was great thank you! Very good drinks! Second time here. Will come back again

Yelp
This hotel was good, good location. It has a beach bungalow feel to it. My friend and I arrived at 4:00 p.m., just in time for check-in for a 4 night/5 day stay. Check-in went smoothly. You are welcomed with a cup of champagne and cute satchel of dried herbs. We also got a room upgraded. Our room was quit nice. We had a corner room (301), plenty of light with 2 private patios and a small ocean view, The actual room was updated, spacious, hard floors, mini-fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was a bit small but was fine. It had all the liquid soaps, body wash, shampoo, conditioner but no bar soap. I always bring wipes to wipe down the room surfaces and I will say the room could of used a better cleaning of surfaces. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I worked out at the gym every morning, very small, plenty of wipes, towels and a refill water station. We took advantage of the jacuzzi, which was great. We did not eat or drink here, so I can't review. I did take note that they do have a spa and rental bikes for a fee. I would stay here again, the same time of year and month, because I could see potential annoyances if you were here during the peak season and you wanted peace and quite. There were mostly business people there during our stay. I could only assume the noise level in and around the pool and pets barking in the rooms (which I did hear a couple dogs when we were there), if your room was facing the pool you would hear nonstop. Also, oddly there is no "safe" in the room.

Yelp
Hotel Indigo is a fantastic choice for a beachside retreat. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The bar and restaurant offered delicious food, with the staff provided excellent recommendations. The chill and friendly atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was that we had to deal with some noise from the people next to us it didn't bother us much since we spent a lot of time out but other than that it was a good experience. I was a bit hesitant about staying here due to some of the reviews but We didn't encounter any issues on our stay. It's close to restaurants , beach and nice trails .

Yelp
There's a very serious mold problem going on in this hotel and it's incredibly concerning that the management continues to ignore it. Coming from a guest who is allergic to mold, don't choose to stay here unless you are okay with walking in and having to take a step back because of the strong musty smell. On the plus side, there is a very attentive and kind front desk manager named Van. Van is the only positive I saw in this hotel - he made my stay there somewhat bearable by moving my room after I mentioned the problem to the front desk. Natalie

Yelp
Oh, Motel Indigo. Where do I even start? The lobby and other rooms are quite nice but the rooms are depressing. The photos this place advertises with are highly misleading. They make dark, musty rooms look bright and airy. Most of the rooms are not very private - you will have other guests walking right by your (motel) room window. And the building is quite dilapidated. The caliber of this place became clear pretty quickly when we dropped our bags at our room and headed to the hot tub. We asked the person who was cleaning it when it would be ready. They were vigorously scrubbing the benches and said they had just added a bunch of chlorine bc it had almost none before (!), so it would probably be okay now. I'm very grateful that he gave us an honest assessment - unsure about the state of the hot tub, we elected to go in the pool instead. Overall, this is a motel lightly flipped to be a "boutique hotel." Not worth the price, even for the great location. I'll end on a positive note. We had a DIY flight of whiskeys that Santana helped us select, and he is an amazing bartender. Friendly, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to create an experience for customers. LOVED him. Generally, a nice crew - and I love IHG hotels usually. But this property is bleak.

Yelp
There's a First for Everything! On a work trip, staying at the Indigo Del Mar, CA for one night. I have stayed at this location several times and love the decor, proximity to downtown Del Mar and the spacious rooms. I went to the front desk to check in, and there was no reservation under my name. Huh. When the confirmation number was provided, a different name showed up.... with my credit card number. Weird! I want to give Johnny at the front desk HUGE kudos for being understanding and super helpful in sleuthing out what happened with my reservation, and working with my booking agency. Turned out - not an issue with the hotel, and I was given a room. So... will I stay here again? Absolutely! And should you stop by to say, "Hi" to Johnny? Sure! He will greet you with a smile!

helen c.

Yelp
I checked in for my first stay here. Not sure I will come back. The rooms are spread out across.... almost a campus. Stairs GALORE. Not appropriate for anyone with strollers, bad knees or balance issues. I am über fit and felt the stairs were excessive, Its like a maize Not cups for water in the gym, no water for coffee in the rooms. I forgot my suitcase when I checked in. No-one brought it to my room. Also Starbucks closed a month ago. I found out when I walked a mile there. I forgot my iPhone charger and they 0 attempt to help. No-one at the hotel can loan a charger ????

Yelp
Everything was awesome from being greeting by GM to cleanliness of room, to fabulous happy hour! We could walk to beach and village and there was a store nearby. Also, hotel is pet friendly.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Worst IHG experience ever. We showed up and got a room that had a nice view but you could tell this hotel has seen better days. They were clean and minimal but everything was worn out, out dated and discolored. We were there for the scenery though so we were fine. It rained that night and once the rain stopped we stepped out of our room and into a big puddle. Whatever we were not letting these things bother us. We were just grabbing something from the car. But when we went to get back in the room just after 1am. The door didn't work.we tried both cards, nothing. The front desk gave us 2 new ones still nothing. She made another, still nothing. We then waited outside our room which is out side at 1 am in the cold and wet as she went to grab the master key to let us in. She came back with some keys but none of them worked because they were "labeled wrong". Everything we had brought with us was locked in the room. Food, water, toiletries, clothes, wallets, etc. So we couldn't leave this place if we had wanted. The front desk person said they contacted the GM but he wasn't answering because he was probably asleep. The next person on shift wouldn't be there until 645am and the maintenance guy wouldn't get there till 8 am so she was just going to have us wait until someone came in or responded. Well lucky us she was going to give us another room to wait in. The room she picked was in a dark corner of the same building. It was even more run down and had a view of a couple of parking spaces. Of course I couldn't really sleep because I wasn't even able to get completely ready for bed due to being locked out from everything I had. By 630 I was already in the lobby seeing if they had a solution. Still no. I can't go anywhere and I can't buy anything so I'm still stuck in a dingy room wearing the same thing I was wearing the day before. Finally at 7am they unlock the door to our room and call us to let us know that it's sitting open. We get to our old room with all our stuff and it was sitting ajar and unattended. We go in and start showering and packing up because checkout is 11 am giving us no time to sleep or anything. While we are packing and getting ready the call us to ask us which room we are keeping. (We are a 1 night stay and check out is in 3 hrs.) I let them know that I was leaving. They gave us free breakfast to try and make up for this. Of course it didn't because we paid to be held hostage and it ruined all our morning plans on top of not being able to sleep. After breakfast we drove home 2 hrs exhausted just to get a vacation from our staycation.

Yelp
We booked this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. We have two small children so cleanliness and service are very important to us. The hotel staff, Van, Tee, and Barbara, were exemplary in making us feel welcome. We loved our room with an ocean view and enjoyed the overall feel of the hotel so much, we booked an extra night! We really enjoyed the hotel breakfast as well~ Tee remembered our preferences and really made sure we started our mornings with a smile. Thank you Hotel Indigo Del Mar Team for making this birthday celebration a smooth, memorable one!

Yelp
100% not worth the price at all. We paid almost $600 for one night. We reserved 2 rooms. So that's obviously $1200 for the 2 nights. Staff was amazing. But the room was only mediocre from chipped paint throughout to walking what felt like a mile to get to the main lodge or pool this hotel is WAY over priced. It is nice and clean but not on the beach and you cannot walk to the beach. Only peekaboo views. Do not spend your money here. I would be happy to pay $250 per night here as the decor and location are nice nothing more. Leaving pissed and feeling ripped off. Even the soaps are like .03 cents each TOTAL GARBAGE. What a RIP OFF Suggestions for the hotel if you want to be better than any old motel 6 and justify your prices... Leave high end amenities Leave 2 water bottles in each room Leave better coffee and accessories Have a make up mirror in each room Keep up on your basic maintenance and cleaning Leave high end towels and 4 for a king room 2ply toilet paper and good kleenex

glenn t.

Yelp
Never very accommodating. When we arrived expected a view of ocean what we got was a view of broken ice machine. We called the front desk and he told he only two queen beds for another $60.00, this was his solution. Room not really cleaned well, toilet soiled. No water in the room for coffee, Bad experience

Anna M.

Yelp
We recently stayed at Indigo hotel Del Mar beach hotel . Prior to arrival my husband called and explained that we were having our anniversary and asked for a room at the back of the main building with an ocean view. He was told that one was available and would be held for our late arrival. When we got there, we were give a musty room with a very heavy odor and no view. We asked for the promised room, but were told that this is the room they held. We asked about available upgrades, but were told that no upgrades were allowed because of our deal. We were offered to view two other rooms, but they were very similar to the first one. The room we got had one window with a brick view, and felt like a dungeon. A large internet router (network concentrator) was placed on the wall, near the bed. It was blinking all night long and gave uncomfortable/unhealthy feelings. The overall room was clean. Bed sheets, bathroom and towels were clean too. There were tea and coffee bags in the room, which is nice, but Coffee machine was simply disgusting.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
What a great place. We were greeted by Benicio with sparkling wine for the adults and sparkling cider for my daughter. We were upgraded to a huge oceanfront room. Everything was clean and the in room amenities were wonderful. Breakfast was outstanding. There was happy hour daily that included many yummy items for $5. Unheard of in Del Mar. benecio recommended great lunch places nearby and arranged for a late checkout. The pools and exercise rooms were great. We highly recommend.

Olga L.

Yelp
The service is terrible. The front desk doesn't greet you or even giving a smile. They've been unreasonable and made the check in very complicated. The entire experience is pretty disappointing and unpleasant:(

Ame M.

Yelp
Don't stay here if you want to sleep. My room was soooo loud. However the bartender and girl who checked me in were great. Locations amazing.

Kim M.

Yelp
Stayed for work 8/5-8/9. Someone ate and drank in the bar under my name and room number. They signed my name. I never set foot in that bar. I called; they removed the charge. Next month, 9/4 the charge appeared on my card again. I called and asked why it re-appeared. Staff was rude saying "It was you. We have your signature" I explained again that it was not me, and that was not my signature. I was told the manager would contact me to resolve the issue. They never did. I called corporate and opened a case file. Called back to check on the case. they had closed it saying that the general manager contacted me. I NEVER spoke with anyone. They reopened the case. Supposedly the GM is actually going to call me this time. I'm not holding my breath. I hope that this $31 was worth losing Northrop Grumman business travel. Future travelers will be warned to stay away from this property.

Brenda L.

Yelp
We stayed here during a week day. The check-in was pretty easy. The staff was friendly and the reception area is appealing and clean. The parking seemed easy as well, they do have a garage although I am not sure that it can accommodate trucks. They have 2 pools and we only saw 1 jacuzzi. The water at the jacuzzi was pretty hot. Although we read that the pool has salt water and is heated, when we ask the receptionist she didn't really know. Either way the pool did not smell like chlorine and it wasnt super cold. The room itself was okay. Our room had wooden floors, which look gorgeous but it also felt a little dirtish. The bathroom was also appealing, the shower had stone floor and walls. The beds was comfy and while the upstairs were a little noisy, we got to sleep well. The restaurant there is nice, the food has good portions and the service was fast. You can also walk on the main street and there are plenty of nice restaurants to choose from. Also lots of little local stores to window shop. Overall, I recommend this place. Is relaxing and has pretty views of the ocean. It also has a spa. We would probably come back another time.

Liz L.

Yelp
In my mind I was calling it the "Blue Roof Inn". It's not as bad as a Red Roof Inn, but gives you an idea of what you'll be getting. It's not a hotel, it's a motel that's been tarted up with some paint and basic decorating. My review is 3 stars because I think this is really a 2 star to max 3 star accommodation, room experience was 2 star but front desk staff (the same guy over a 24 hour period- poor man!) was 5 star. Husband & I stayed here on a Saturday when we were going to a special dinner in Del Mar- he stays with IHG a lot and booked through them- he said from the photos he thought it looked like a cute boutique hotel. I saw a few and yes, they are..."optimistic" let's just say. Positives: The lobby gives a good general impression, and the deck behind has a lovely view to the ocean. There are dog bowls around so looks dog friendly. Location is good near things to do in Del Mar and right near the beach. We arrived around 3pm and the front desk guy was very friendly and gave us a room upgrade to a king suite. I don't know what the upgrade was from, but it was a bottom floor room at the west side of the hotel overlooking an empty parking lot. It had a bed and a separate room with seating and TV. We entered the room and it was immediately clear it hadn't been cleaned yet (unmade bed, trash, dirty towels on the floor, food, and room keys still inside) so we went back to the lobby and waited about an hour for them to clean our room, and it was then clean but still found hair in the shower. Bed was decently comfortable and room had everything you would need but some things were a bit odd..a weird paint object on the wall, the sink vanity has hardly any space to put anything, and the bathroom door is slatted and right in front of the bed, so hope you and your roommate enjoy knowing everything about each other, or plan to leave the room when they need the toilet. The shower trim plate was also coming loose from the wall. Noise levels at this place were ridiculous. The guests are not the hotel's fault but there is no soundproofing. There was a rowdy sports team staying upstairs- they sounded like teenagers but were staying on their own- yelling, slamming doors nonstop, running around like a herd of elephants. You could hear everything, including their conversation, through the walls and the white noise we had on loud. They were super noisy till wee morning hours making it really difficult to sleep. They started up again around 6/7 am...along with the sound of cleaning trolleys rolling down the hall. Hubs staggered back to bed from the coffee maker and said "I feel like I've been camping" lol. The guy at the front desk was so nice and apologized and waived parking because my husband mentioned the noise, and we felt bad since he was the only front desk staff we saw- he checked us in, was there at 10pm when we got back from dinner and he was at the desk again when we checked out in the morning! We paid zero for this place because of points and thankfully so, because if we had I would be upset. If you're looking for a boutique hotel experience this is not it. If you're ok with staying in an inexpensive motel type place this may be what you're looking for.

Yelp
Stayed here for a night while on a single day trip to Carlsbad. Although it was during the pandemic and all the hotel's facilities were closed, we still had a nice stay. The rooms are big and spacious, some even have a nice view like ours did. The outdoor hallways and common areas could use some additional cleaning and remodeling though because its definitely showing its age, but while you're inside the room you can't tell. Parking costs $10 per night regardless of how you book the room

Jay O.

Yelp
This is a great little hotel for families and folks with a small pet. The staff was helpful and Covid careful. Despite an outdated feel around the stucco walkways the property was well maintained and clean. We were escaping the smoke up North from the fires and were hoping to be on or close to the beach. The property is located about a block away from a steep bluff that, if adventurous and physically capable, you could make it down. The safest way to access the beach it to drive to 15th street and access through the quaint downtown entrance. The charm if the hotel is not only on property but in the town, so definitely explore and enjoy it.

Layla D.

Yelp
Harmony at the front desk was so amazing, she was so nice and super helpful even during busy times was very attentive and efficient!!! The breakfast was amazing and our room was perfect and had everything we needed. An amazing stay at the hotel and an amazing experience with all the staff.

Maddie V.

Yelp
Update : it appears the Hotel did refund the charges for the damaged chair. I should have updated this review some time ago. With Covid and limited travel I hope my late update didn't cost them any business. This really is a beautiful hotel and location. Recommed.

Sunil R.

Yelp
It is a great location by the ocean and walking distance to the Del Mar village. I had a memorable evening walking down to the beach past the train tracks. I though the walk down to the beach was slightly treacherous until I saw the surfers doing it while carrying their surf board and barefoot too. The hotel had a decent gym and the staff were nice. So why only 1 star? The room was nasty! It smelled musty and there was hair in the shower. The faucet in the sink was loose, the power outlet was not working and I found ants in the room. I don't need a lot but I need a clean and functional room. Never coming back here again.

La Belle P.

Yelp
Having a blast at this resort!! Great service, flood location! Del Mar is a blast! Great amenities entertainment and staff!

Yelp
Horrible! I pre-booked the room and I should of waited because I over paid. The is not a $500 Saturday night hotel. You can't easily find your room it a maze. Too far from the main village. When I asked the manger for a reduction on the room rate he told me I should of canceled and rebooked the room prior to my arrival. I paid $1000.00 for a two night stay! I also mention to the manger that the waiter who needs some help and a shower and the manger just ignored me. There was know one checking in and they just let this waiter run around with no assistance. This is the last time I will ever stay at the Indigo.

Yelp
I had a pleasant stay at this property & felt the rooms looked like pictures. The rooms have a modern update feel, rooms were always clean & I really appreciate that. Lady at check in raved about giving us such a great room that has an awesome view... we get to the room and it's just a standard room that had literally no view except seeing other rooms...? So I don't know why she would get our hopes up. I called about it and the person who answered said they don't actually have rooms with a view since they're off the beach. So idk what that's all about & it was pretty disappointing but whatever. I had reserved my rooms with the breakfast vouchers (I basically just paid breakfast in advance) breakfast was good nothing crazy, servers were awesome though. The voucher didn't cover taxes which I thought was odd, other places it covers the whole thing & all you have to do is leave a tip. But again whatever. I know next time don't bother with the breakfast voucher. Also, honestly sucks that they charge guest to park on property, I paid $1,000 for 2 nights and you're telling me I have to pay for parking, I guess... Besides there are so many good restaurants and bars near by!! I'm not sure why anyone would want to stay on property and not wonder on their vacation. Take advantage of the location!! Conclusion: great place to stay for just a nice clean room to sleep & shower. Location was great for us but we drove everywhere (keep in mind). I recommend this hotel for just that, but it is pricey for what it is (and I'm coming from Vegas...)

Yelp
Hotel Indigo is decent for the price. I got a last minute booking during the off season and was placed in an inconvenient room on the lower level. It was away from lobby, the restaurant, and the swimming pool. The room was clean with a large bathroom, but there was a slight order when I first entered. The window view was of the parking lot where skateboarders from the neighboring apartment complex skated and could look directly into my room if they desired. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. At ate at the reasonably priced hotel restaurant where the food was tasty. I talked to the bartender, Santana who offered a few cocktails on the house as I celebrated my birthday. I will return, but I would request my desired room.

Yelp
I got the chance to visit Saturday with my girl to hang out at the pool get a massage and chill at the bar for a little while. Santana the bartender made us a mezcal Paloma with tajin rim on the glass. That drink was Delicious and our flatbread was good and we enjoyed the character and cute decor of the room. Hope to return soon with my hubby to enjoy a ocean view room getaway. Thank you everyone who was at front desk so sweet and welcoming! Appreciated the awesome service.

Yelp
This is good hotel with a great location. This is my second visit in less than 3 months. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is extremely dog friendly. This "dog friendly" hotel seems to get more into dogs each time I stay here. There is even an "office" dog there during the day. The latest upgrades for new dogs checking in are the dog bowls and treats. I ordered from the restaurant twice and the food was good. Service was good. The price from hotels.com was a good value for the money. The location is not on the beach. The hotel sits on a cliff and cannot be accessed from directly behind the hotel. It's just a few steps out of the way to get to the beach. A dog friendly hotel near or on the beach is hard to find. The hotel has a pet fee, $75 per stay. 1 night or 5 nights. The hotel bar/restaurant has a live music most nights. When I ordered my dinner one night last week, the band was letting the audience sing a few songs. I think they should ask for permission from the other audience members before they let anyone sing that's not in the band. ;)

Yelp
Came with my husband for a staycation and loved our little getaway. It's a very nice place. Clean, beautiful, and we liked that the location was quieter, but you could still walk to restaurants and beach access. It is a bit of a long walk, but we like walking. The room was adorable and we had breakfast at the bar/restaurant in the lobby... sometimes the food is subpar in that kind of situation, but my eggs florentine were amazing here. We'd love to come back.

Yelp
Great little hidden spot to stay. Clean and quiet within walking distance if the ocean. We'll be back!

Yelp
It's not luxurious but it's definitely tasteful, cozy and pleasant. Old English bungalow style set up is warm and authentic especially the terrace deck overview Pacific Ocean! The deck is the best place for all day! There is no direct access to the beach but the cliff-side trails is gorgeous! Breakfast by the patio is a must.

Yelp
Initial experience with front desk personnel was horrible at best, left and came back five hours later hoping for a better front desk crew. Benito at least acknowledged that we were waiting to check in. Original room had no "ocean" view I opted for an "ocean" view room at $80 more per night. If I stand on the chair on my balcony I can maybe see the ocean. If that didn't irk me, there was some woman screaming and swearing at her 9 year anniversary old and everyone else. Management did nothing and I was reluctant as I didn't want her to burn the hotel down.

Yelp
We stayed here in late September, so my review is a bit later than I intended. This place is amazing for only a 3-star hotel! It's 5 minutes from the beach, we were upgraded to a suite for free, and it's just a phenomenal! Thank you for such an incredible experience! I would have given 5 stars, but no microwaves in the rooms is absurd for the price we paid.

Yelp
I love staying at Hotel Indigo's! This one is much smaller and has a boutique hotel vibe. The second floor balcony has an ocean view, which was great to watch the sunset at. The photos you see on their website look exactly the same in person. Beach access: I have a feeling this was an older hotel that was rebranded. The corridors are all outdoors, which overlook the pool area. Most rooms have a table out front so they can dine outside their room and overlook the pool. The corridors are nice and wide, really adding to the aesthetic. I did noticed that you can hear footsteps. Our upstairs neighbor had a young child who ran around a lot. I could hear my own family's footsteps louder than I'd care. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I appreciate how clean and inviting the entry/ba

Yelp
I absolutely love Hotel Indigo properties.. and this one is nice, like the other one I've been to, yet with a different, smaller cozy feel. The hotel itself offers a beautiful ambiance and resort-like with being more intimate and not too big (2 levels and not many units). The entrance is very inviting and they have a convenient bar restaurant as well. The inside of the rooms are clean and have nice modern decor matching the coastal vibe. This location is super close to the beach and offers ocean views! It has a trendy and yet comfortable appeal. -easy and friendly check-in -plenty of parking -amazing and comfy room -pretty pool and lounge area -upper deck with nice seating = perfect sunset views This place is cute and worth the price for Del Mar! :)

Yelp
First, I think 4pm checkins are super lame, especially in the middle of the work week. But I think it's really lame when that already late time isn't met. Decent location, and (some) rooms have great views. Ours did. I thought the rates were decent and it's close (nearly walkable) to some cute shops and restaurants in Del Mar. There isn't direct beach access from the property but it's nearby (15th Street). The pool areas are decent, though the one we used was out of towels both times and our key fob wouldn't open the gates. Our room was a nice size but the interior was sorta looking tired. The bathroom fan wasn't working, and an additional bathroom light went out on our second day. They stopped by to fix one pretty quickly, which was appreciated, but the fan was never operable. Overall it was kinda meh. Not terrible but not great. I think photos give it more credit than it deserves.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay, which started with Rena at the front desk. It's always nice to be greeted with a smile and a peppy attitude. I stayed at this property over the Kaaboo music festival weekend, 9/14-9/16. The location was ideal, if you are feeling aggressive you can even walk to the DelMar Fair grounds (1.5 miles), which we did one night rather than deal with the Uber mess post-concert. The location is perfect for all the restaurants and shops which are easily within walking distance, as is the beach. As for the immediate property, plenty of hotel parking and depending on your room, you will have a nice ocean view. The rooms were adequate, although dated. My room had a little kitchenette, which is always appreciated. My room (#431) also had a nice balcony with an ocean view. I did not get a chance to use the pool, but it looked nice. I also enjoyed breakfast here one morning, which was tasty. I can vouch for the breakfast burrito, very good. My server was Lee, who did a nice job with our group. I'd stay here again. A funny point of reference, the lobby is much nicer than the rooms, so don't judge this book by the cover, but it was still a nice weekend.

Yelp
This location of Indigo could be great, but the rooms lack much style and noise levels are high at this property. The location of this property is excellent and close to the beach. I found the noise level to be high during the morning as the staff was busy cleaning rooms and making allot of noise at the same time. It always surprises me since this is a hotel and guests may be sleeping. The rates here are fair. They have a full service restaurant (limited hours). Most of your local restaurants will be closed after 10 pm during the week.

Yelp
Stayed at this property over Labor Day weekend. Had many choices to stay elsewhere as friends had rooms at some of the other major hotels over pacific classic weekend. Anyhow spoke with the Hotel Manager Shayanas ??? My apologies for my incorrectness of name but wanted to give her credit and her incredible staff Barbara and Benito who work the front desk and another gal who checked me in. Forgot her name at moment . Wonderful room and very clean. All of the staff from Manager to cleaning crew. When I was younger I worked at the Hyatt Newport Beach and I know very well how it is not easy to run a resort perfect each and every day. But at Hotel Indigo Del Mar it is as close to perfect each and every stay.

Yelp
It's actually 3 1/2 stars for me. Housekeeping is excellent. Room decor is weird. Bathroom nicely updated with a good shower and handheld shower hose. TV was very good. But the downfall here is that the window unit room heater/air conditioner turns on and off loudly and frequently all night long. Front desk people are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located not far from all the restaurants. It is also quieter than expected since it's placed below the street level. Some rooms may have nice ocean views, though ours didn't. Despite the positives, I don't know that we'd return due to the noisy heater-A/C unit issue.

Yelp
I love the ambiance of this hotel. The receptionist Barbara is super friendly and gave me a small tour of the hotel and share with me the story behind this hotel. Close to the beach with comfortable room. Also highly recommend the farmers market close by

Yelp
This place has a nice beach vibe if you're looking for something other than a big chain hotel. The lobby is open and airy and you'd think there was a beach outside the back doors. The rooms were ok though they seem to amplify the sound of footsteps from the rooms above. Other than the beds being a little uncomfortable for my taste, the room was very spacious. The room came with a mini fridge and microwave. All in all it's a good place for your money with a very convenient location minutes away from Solana Beach. You can walk to the beach from here if you wind your way down the cliff. If not, the views are still great!
