"Located in the Gaslamp Quarter, the recently constructed Hotel Indigo San Diego toes the line between hip and historic. The eco-chic boutique property prides itself on achieving LEED certification and boasts such unique features as a 4,000-square-foot green roof and a business center with Macs and iPads. History plays out in the hotel’s neighborhood story: an ode to the Wild West and the founding of San Diego. Boldly designed rooms are outfitted with modern cherry blossom linens, vibrant murals, and oversized cushioned headboards. Clean up with Aveda bath products in your spa-inspired shower, and wake up to your own music thanks to an in-room iHome docking station. High-definition flat screens with premium cable and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel mean you can stay as connected as you wish. At sunset go up to Level 9 Rooftop Bar for stunning city views and craft cocktails. Daily happy hour from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. sweetens the deal."

Hotel Indigo Gaslamp District San Diego has an unbeatable location right by the baseball stadium. Most of the staff were great, and Skylar especially stood out—helpful, personable, and a joy every time I interacted with him. Helena seemed a bit rushed and snappy when I asked for help, but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that it may have just been a tough day. Rooms are modern and comfortable, though water stocking was inconsistent, and valet parking is pricey with limited space to unload.||The rooftop bar has amazing views and delicious drinks, though food options (like chips and salsa) could be improved. Breakfast staff was excellent, and the burger was definitely a highlight. Expect lines at check-in and valet since the hotel stays busy, but that’s the tradeoff for the location.||Overall, a solid 4-star stay. Minor inconveniences aside, the views, location, and standout staff like Skylar made the experience enjoyable, and I would return.

It was the perfect location and within walking distance of my destination. The beds were super comfortable. Wish I could have adjusted the thermostat to be a lower temp in the room, didn’t feel like it got cold enough. Little disappointed that the shower had discolored marks on the floor that made it look dirty. There wasn’t any body wash in the shower when I arrived and I noticed hair on the counter from a less than thorough clean. The gym area was fine, but small. It could stand to be bigger as it’s really not meant for more than one person at a time if you’re trying to lift weights. We had 4 people at one point and were trying to find any floor space not in someone else’s way. There was only one exercise mat and one workout bench.

Location is great! 1 minute walk from the Padres Stadium. There are 2 restaurants and a convenience area on site. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Valet parking is $65/night plus other service fees, so be mindful of this! There are other paid parking garages in the area. Overall, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly.

A nice hotel, great location. Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent. No visit one day, no washcloths another day and no toilet paper the last day. All quickly fixed by the front desk, but they should not have to get involved. At check-in they tried to give us a non-Petco view room. We paid for a view room, they quickly corrected it. They charge a $32 amenity fee and say that covers the $15 food/beverage credit, two bottles of water, coffee in the lobby and local restaurant discounts. No choice to opt out and no warning about the fee other than the 2-sided memo they give you at check-in. Small local taxes also, but those happen everywhere. $65 a day valet parking is all they offer - no surprise here though. Despite the above, we'd return. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and view was amazing. Staff were all very friendly. A short walk to everything.

The only thing I liked about this hotel was the valet parking guy, even though it was 65 a night. The room had random hair, the view was terrible, and the AC was practically useless. We tried the rooftop bar, but that was disappointing too—overpriced and slow service. No free breakfast, either. I get that it’s downtown San Diego, but a little courtesy and complimentary breakfast wouldn’t hurt. Never again. Sorry, California. I'm glad im back in Tampa.

After two great visits to this hotel in 2022 and 2023, I am sad to say the hotel seems to be turning over. We booked last minute here after being incredibly unhappy with a hotel in La Jolla that was dirty (and $500 a night). Before this, I've literally never had a problem with a hotel being dirty and I got two in the same night. Assuming that we'd receive the same quiet, clean and comfortable stay that we have previously, we were incredibly disappointed. First, we arrived about 8pm with two small kids who were really behind in sleep from travel and a 2 hour time difference. We entered our room and were shocked to see white footprints on the ground and a fingernail! We reported it immediately and the front desk told us that there were no additional rooms available that night so they would send someone up to clean it right away. They did and to their credit the cleaning crew was great, but why was it dirty in the first place? Then we went to use the bathroom and the toilet wouldn't flush. By this point, I was exhausted from dealing with the other dirty hotel, my kids were exhausted, and now we had a bigger problem with a non flushing toilet. My husband tried to work on it while I went down to the front desk again. This time, a different person was working and he said he'd move me to a different room. Yay! However, Upon checking with the previous staff member, he said actually there were no more rooms available. At this point I just broke down crying out of exhaustion and dealing with hotel problems. To their credit both staff members tried to figure out a plan for us, even if it included splitting us into two different rooms. They assured us the toilet could be fixed, but honestly, a room shouldn't be available if the toilet doesn't work! Magically, after about 10 minutes they found us an open room after all. I have no idea why they couldn't find this room in the first place. We were happy to see the second room was clean and had a working toilet. However, it was under the rooftop bar. So we had to listen to chairs scraping and music playing for another few hours. Honestly, we won't be back. I do appreciate that at least the front desk staff was motivated to help us out and they kept this review from getting zero stars. But this hotel is really showing signs of age and wear after just a few years. Aside from the toilet not working, the bathroom and furniture is showing signs of wear and tear and it just didn't feel like the cozy hotel it was a few years ago.

Extremely close to PetCo Park, and the rooms were nice enough. The shower had footprints in it, so we didn't use it. The rooftop bar, one of the big selling points, was reserved for the night and was not available to us. The $65 valet was highly inconvenient and slow. The restaurant is advertised in the hotel as being open til 11, but actually closed at 10. Our two-room reservation did not have rooms next to each other.

We had such a wonderful experience at the hotel, thanks to Harmony! She went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially as we were celebrating my amazing wife's birthday. We were surprised with an upgraded room overlooking the Padres stadium—what a view and such a memorable touch! Harmony also kindly comped a couple of drinks at the rooftop restaurant, which made our evening feel even more celebratory. We’re truly grateful for the warm hospitality and thoughtful details. Thank you, Harmony, for making our stay so memorable!
