Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, an IHG Hotel

Beautifully decorated foyer, fabulous pattern to the carpet on the floor and the decoration on the door to the room. Wow. The room was beautifully designed with the street scene on the wall behind the bed, the lounge, the colors chosen for the room, the treadle sewing machine turned into a wash basin, and the basin to soak tired feet after a day on the streets. The bed was very comfortable. Beautiful tiles in the bathroom. And loved the views over the surrounding neighbourhood from the shower. The pool on the roof is stunning but for me the water was too cold to swim in that I only used it once. Still it was nice to sit up there one afternoon when I had some spare time to read. I enjoyed the breakfast choices at Baba Chews and had dinner there one night. But lots of restaurants nearby. Make sure you make a note of the info on eating and shopping on the TV. The hotel is just around the corner from the MRT Marine Parade stop. And it will be on the line to Changi when the line is completed. The staff were very helpful particularly Wilson. The only thing I thought a bit odd was that there was no hand lotion in the bathroom but it was in the toilet.

I recently had another fantastic stay at Hotel Indigo Katong, and as always, the experience keeps me coming back. The familiar environment, warm hospitality, and consistent service make this hotel feel like a home away from home. From the moment I arrived, the front office team—Wilson, Jarwin, Andy, Jolin, Jiahui, and Rosa—made sure my stay was seamless. Their attentiveness and support, not just for me but also for my family, truly stood out. Whether it was handling requests efficiently or simply greeting us with a warm smile each day, their hospitality made a real difference. Under Wilson’s leadership, this is a well-run team that genuinely cares about guests. The housekeeping team also deserves a special mention. Beyond keeping the room spotless, they paid attention to the little details that made a difference. One small but thoughtful touch was how they arranged my son’s soft toys in a way that brought a delightful surprise when we returned to the room. It’s these personal touches that elevate a stay from good to great. Dining at Baba Chews for the few days. Marivel and her team took excellent care of us, always with a smile and a positive attitude. Whether it was breakfast or a casual coffee break, their service was consistently welcoming and and attentive. And of course, a big thank you to Wilson, who not only ensured my overall stay was smooth but also looked after my future bookings. Good to have such a dedicated team and it’s one of the key reasons I continue choosing Hotel Indigo Katong whenever I visit Singapore.

A local friend recommended this hotel to me, and I’ve stayed here a few times over the past couple of months, mostly for work. Sometimes, my family joins me, and I find it great for both business travelers and families. The location is convenient, and the hotel staff provides consistently good service. The refreshing bit of this part of Singapore is you're away from the concrete jungle of the city and there's alot of local heritage vibes embedded around the area and even the hotel's decor.

This place is great! The unique design of the hotel, which matches the historic neighborhood, is what sets the place apart. There are so many little touches that the rooms almost feel like a mini-museum and there's so much to look at and enjoy. Beyond this I found that the service at the hotel was excellent, very friendly and proactive, for example getting a call from the manager just to check if everything is going OK with the stay. The views from the huge windows were amazing so definitely opt for a heritage view room to take advantage. The rooftop area had great views too and is a nice spot to hang out. Just two things I think could be improved - the rooftop pool was freezing cold (maybe that's why no one was going in). Also, I found that the quality of the lunch/dinner food at the restaurant could have been better. The menu looks nice but the taste of the food was just OK. I was more happy with breakfast. Other than these points I was completely satisfied with the stay.

First time staying here and in Singapore. We had the most pleasant stay. The hotel was so clean, smells amazing, and there are some little amenities that make a big impression, like the foot soak, really needed that after a long day on the plane. We ate breakfast at the hotel 2x and were promptly greeted by Marivel both times. She and Nathan keep the breakfast area running smoothly and quickly. We never had to wait long for coffee or food. Great selection of breakfast items. We did self service laundry at the holiday inn express next door as we were departing to another country. It cost $7 to wash and $7 to dry, totally worth it for us. The neighborhood is so peaceful and friendly, lots of local shops nearby, malls, food, drinks, you name it. Very close to MRT station so it saved us a lot of money getting around, and there was air conditioner in the station, big bonus for me. :) We will stay here again next time we are in Singapore.

We absolutely adored our stay here. The hotel is quirky and stylish, very comfortable and relaxing. The staff were all amazing, very helpful and professional. The breakfast waiters were so good - they started our days on a really positive note. The location was excellent for restaurants and a short walk to the MRT. Highly recommended, we'd love to go back sometime.

The Indigo in Katong always delivers great service, friendly staff, and excellent restaurant/breakfast in a perfect location. All of the staff are kind and helpful and the rooms offer a comfortable stay with great amenities like in-room coffee, filtered water, and even local candies! Specifically, Rosa at the front desk provides friendly and efficient service with a warm smile and always assures everything is perfect with your stay. Marivel, in the in-house restaurant, Baba Chews , is always friendly, and accommodating and is an excellent host and bartender, try the local Baba Sling! Made to perfection. Finally, I love the Katong location with its restaurants, shopping, and beautiful architecture and now with the new MRT/Subway stop the location is even more convenient. The rooftop pool and gym are also very nice and a must-visit. Highly recommend this hotel!

This is a true gem. A stylish, yet unpretentious small hotel in a great neighborhood. At check-in, our Platinum status was recognized and we were given a room with a large soaking tub in addition to a large separate shower. Amusingly, both the shower and tub are situated next to floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking interesting buildings. Fortunately, you can pull down security shutters for privacy but the idea of taking a shower at night overlooking city lights (while fully exposing yourself to peeping Toms) will continue to amuse us.| |As the photos show, the room is attractively laid out with stylish furnishings. The bed was remarkably comfortable, including top-notch 100% cotton linens. There was also a Nespresso maker in the room with both regular and decafe capsules—first time we had seen decafe in Southeast Asia. A nice taste of home for us. ||The hotel sits a half-block away from a modern A/C’d shopping mall with restaurants and a drug store, and across the street from an outstanding snack shop selling delectable mochi and coconut treats, as well as a delightful coffee shop called Micro Red. A fascinating historic Peranakan neighborhood with colorful row houses is only a 10-minute walk away. An Uber-like ride share service called Grab can easily and cheaply take you to the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel area, Chinatown or other neighborhoods for more touring. ||During our stay, I was suffering a bit with traveler’s stomach so my wife ordered a bland rice porridge to be brought up to our room at the suggestion of one of the front desk clerks (sadly, we didn’t catch her name!) she later phoned the room asking if I was ok and able to receive the order, which she said the hotel would comp as part of a welcome gift. They brought that, and a couple of chocolates for my wife! I definitely felt well cared for! ||Another clerk who went out of his way to help us was Wilson Lee (whose business card identifies him as a “Neighborhood Host”). Wilson showed us some sights on a map, had some restaurant tips and knew the times and locations of water and light shows going in at Marina Bay. As was generally true throughout Singapore, Wilson and the rest of the Hotel Indigo staff spoke excellent English and were easy to understand.

We stayed four nights at the Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. I was super excited to book this hotel with points! My IHG card was full of points and when you book with IHG, the 4th night is free. With my IHG card, I also had platinum elite status. We arrived via Grab car from Changi Airport and walked into the cool air conditioned lobby. It was wonderful considering the humidity. We were greeted by Tiffanie and she got us checked in. We were given a room on the 14th floor and it was lovely. We were told that we had been upgraded from the standard King room which was really nice. It didn't have a bathtub but the shower that was separate from the toilet area was really nice. The layout of the room is spacious. The closet space was great along with the fluffy robes. There was a Nespresso machine along with nostalgic candies in the cabinet. I loved the White Rabbit candy from my childhood. The amenities in the room were lovely. The hotel also has a rooftop pool which was really nice on the warm days we were staying there. We also checked out the gym but didn't use it. Our favorite thing was the complimentary refillable water bottles in the room. There was a distilled water machine downstairs by the lobby entrance which we fully utilized since they charge for water at restaurants in Singapore. I had brought my water bottle from home so I was happy they gave us this option. The staff was so nice too. Everyone I encountered was lovely. The hotel is in the Katong area near shopping malls, loads of restaurants, and a bus station. The Katong neighborhood is pretty much a foodie mecca. We were down the street from a lot of popular restaurants. We were not close to Marina Bay but had to hop on a bus and a metro to get there. We also utilized the Grab cars when needed. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel since it was further away from the busier touristy spots.

Such a comfortable & wonderful stay! We stayed here to be closer to the airport and it was a good location. The hotel has as much charm as the neighborhood which made this stay more memorable. The room was clean and spacious. During our stay here we relaxed on the rooftop pool which has nice skyline views.

Great location near shopping, malls and plazas, and restaurants. If you're looking to try the Katong area I highly recommend the convenience of the hotel. It is also very clean and has a lot of vibrant and authentic flare.

What a great inexpensive hotel with very friendly staff and excellent uniquely decorated rooms, they put a toilet and sink along the hallway wall and a second sink / shower right up again the the windows. Too bad I was only here over night, I will have to stay here again the next time I come to Singapore.

This hotel is wonderful! We had hospitable service everywhere, the room service was delicious, and the decor was fun and comfortable! They even sent cake up to us as it was our honeymoon! Look forward to returning!

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in a while. The check in process was quick and easy. The rooms are beautiful with excellent views. Rooms come with a foot bath and a free phone for use while you're in the city to avoid roaming charges. Also all of the normal amenities you would expect. The view from the workout and pool area is breathtaking. Infinity pool at the top is great.

Love this place. Great service, rooftop pool is legit, walking distance to lots of good food spots, transit bus is just right outside the hotel.
