Great hotel with lovely room interiors and friendly staff. We experienced a nice breakfast included with our room, with plenty of cold choices and also hot bacon and eggs to order. The complimentary mini bar (inside a large safe) was a great addition, was fully replenished every day, and was very much appreciated. The room housekeeping was done well and the bathroom was spotlessly clean, with quality toiletries. And we loved the electronic curtains, that opened and shut with a wall button. All staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. This hotel is in a great central location, with a bus and tram stop 2 minutes walk away. We heard minor outside noise disturbance over the weekend we visited. Definitely our choice to stay when we return for location, amenities and service.

A very impressive hotel with some amazing features. I was given a suite with split levels and was so impressed with the decor, comfort and overall standard. The breakfast was good in terms of choice, despite the portion size being very small when ordering the menu options. There were a few features that were unavailable during my stay which was a shame. I think there was some refurbishment going on? I only noticed towards the end that there was a gym close by that you could use as part of the package. It was never mentioned to me. The fella on reception was really friendly and helpful, but some of the breakfast staff a little too abrupt for the hospitality industry I felt. I didn’t sleep too well due on some of the external noise. Not the hotel’s fault of course, but some folk enjoying parting mode outside my window until early hours in the morning. I’d stay again, but request not to be on the same location I guess??

Stayed here for a short city trip and really appreciated the hotel’s character. The building is a former bank, and that heritage has been thoughtfully preserved in the design – from vault-style safes in the room (which double as minibar storage) to subtle references in the lobby. It’s not just another boutique hotel; there’s real identity here.||Staff were very friendly throughout – helpful, relaxed, and welcoming without being overbearing. Also nice: the complimentary minibar. A small touch, but it adds value.||A few minor downsides: soundproofing could be better. We were regularly woken up by noisy seagulls and early morning garbage trucks – not ideal if you’re a light sleeper. The single-glazed windows probably don’t help. Also, while the breakfast setup is decent, I found it overpriced for what you get / quality not always top.||That said, the hotel’s location is excellent – right across from the royal palace, and an easy walk to most highlights. Would I stay again? Yes – though I might skip the breakfast next time and bring earplugs just in case.

We showed up late in the day to be told the room wasn't ready. After waiting, we were given a room with only small windows and no working AC. Asked repeatedly to have the AC fixed and was told it would happen. Never did and spent a night sweltering in a dirty room (see picture of the chair). The best morning told the staff we had a poor experience at the hotel and the front staff literally said, "That's great. We're glad for you!" Not a language issue, spoke fine English. Just very very poor customer service. Definitely a hotel to avoid at all cost.

I stayed 6 nights in this hotel in August 2025. It’s really well located, right in the very center but still peaceful and quiet. From the positives: very comfortable bed, super silent AC, great breakfast with both buffet and a la carte menu, pleasant and helpful staff at the reception desk. The main negative is the housekeeping and cleaning, it is inconsistent (on some days well cleaned, mini bar replenished etc.), and on others practically nothing has been done. ||The shower gel in my bathroom was over and the staff didn’t replenish it. I deliberately took the bottle down off the wall holder and put it on the bathroom floor to get the cleaning personnel’s attention, but when returning to the room empty bottle was still on the floor. The next day I reported this at the reception desk, they promised it would be taken care of, but unfortunately still an empty bottle welcomed me when I came back in the evening to the room. This is clearly unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. ||In summary, had it not been for the poor cleaning and housekeeping I would have been more satisfied with this hotel.

We chose the hotel because of the unique design (former bank building incl. vault in the basement) for our family stay of 2 nights. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinner without prior notification, but with sufficient restaurant options within 500m walking distance this was no big issue. Breakfast was well arranged but not as overloaded as in other hotels, several á la carte options to choose from allowed sufficient choices. Room design was refreshing and functional. Staff members we encountered were helpful, friendly and proactive, thank you very much.

A Vault of Stories Beneath the Surface This is an amazing spot—aside from the fact that it’s a hotel. What sets it apart isn’t just the luxurious rooms or the attentive service, but the layers of history tucked into every corner. Once a grand bank, this building holds more than memories of financial transactions—it houses secrets, legends, and the kind of architectural storytelling that invites you to explore rather than just stay. Head down the original staircase and you’ll find what used to be the vault. It once safeguarded precious items, including the f golden plates. Rumor has it that someone went into hiding down there, and that secret holidays—private meetings or celebrations of forbidden ideas—were once held within these stone walls. The air is still thick with echoes. This place doesn’t just whisper its history; it breathes it. The building even inspired the setting for a popular series, and it’s easy to see why. With its moody lighting, dramatic architecture, and sense of concealed grandeur, every hallway feels like the opening scene of something cinematic. Stay for the comfort, yes—but linger for the story. It’s a hotel now, but it remains a vault of tales.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is right next to the palace and we got to see the arrival ceremony for an ambassador whilst having breakfast. ||Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Previously a bank there are lots of nods to this in the decor. They even have a meeting room in the huge vault. ||Rooms are comfortable, I had to ask reception to switch air con to heating mode. Everything needed was in the room - hairdryer, robe, slippers etc. The spacious shower was great. Complimentary water although this wasn't topped up during our 5 day stay. You could select not to have your room cleaned each day in exchange for a free drink voucher which is a nice option.||Breakfast was good quality, relaxed and enjoyable. We didn't realise that the tourist tax was per person per day so this was an unexpected cost on check out of nearly 150 euros. ||The location is great with all the main attractions easily accessible from here. I would recommend a stay here.||
