We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mercedes at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. She took the time to recommend local restaurants, which we really appreciated. Her hospitality set the tone for a great visit.||The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stylish and modern design that still captures the charm of Tuscaloosa. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything we needed. The rooftop bar was a great place to unwind with a drink while enjoying the river views.||Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. A big thank you to Mercedes and the rest of the staff for making our visit so enjoyable!|

Stayed at the hotel for business. Good location and nice sized rooms. Good selection of TV channels. Room temperature was comfortable and easy to control. My stay was for 4 nights and for 3 days the floor did not get swept or cleaned. The beds were comfortable.

It was a great stay and easy access to the venue we went too. The WiFi was not great and only gave us 2 towels, other than that the bed was comfortable and room was very clean. I will 100% recommend the hotel, definitely worth the money. The lookout bar was great food and great food. The bbq nachos were good.

I came to Tuscaloosa for business and wanted to stay in a walkable area. This was ideal. My customers were nearby and I was able to get in a nice walk in the evenings and grab dinner. The hotel restaurant breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend the pecan french toast if you are feeling indulgent!

I am a big IHG fan and I always stay with IHG, but this was my first time with Hotel Indigo. I LOVED it here. I was given two complimentary breakfast cards and a free drink pass from the bar when I arrived. This place is different from a Holiday Inn where they have a variety on a breakfast buffet. Breakfast here consisted of sitting down at a table and a waitress brings you a menu and you pick what you want. This was nice and fast. I loved the service and enjoyed my relaxing breakfast in the mornings. I also enjoyed traveling to the top floor to visit the bar where you can also order a meal. They had a restaurant downstairs too. i will say the cheesecake with caramel was outstanding. I also like they provide bikes you can ride on the trails near the water. I really wanted to go, but it was very windy and cold. My room was very comfortable and the bed was perfect. I was in town for business, but honestly I really enjoyed my stay and it felt like a mini vacation. Way to go Hotel Indigo!

From check in to check out everything was great! Appreciate the EV chargers that was a big plus! Great food at the Rooftop. Comfy bed and good bath products. The front desk staff were so nice. If I had to say one thing negative it would be I wish we could cast to the tv but I survived. I will definitely stay here again.

The room was initially dirty and had an odor. But housekeeping came and fixed it in a timely manner. Outside of that I don’t have any issues. I had a comfortable stay. I was able to get some great pictures in the lobby and the staff was very accommodating

The food is fantastic, best hotel breakfasts I've ever had! Really delicious dinners also! The rooftop bar is really nice to hang out at after work for some relaxation time and conversations with the staff and travelers! Speaking of the staff, Verdie, AK, Taylor and Lauren are all awesome!!!

Yelp
A good nights sleep! That's what I got! That's what I needed, so what else is there to say? I did not transcend into any other timelines or alternate realities like I hoped, but hey, you can't win them all. Is this place a five star hotel, well hell no. It's also not a one star. So I'll just say it's a raging five!!!!! Why is everyone so dang angry any way? "How dare they, I'm a diamond club"!, STFU. Just go home and yell at your kids or beat your dog, whatever makes you happy. "But I'm elite", shut it! Just no I'm sorry, I may be over it, I've been in the car with my family a lot in the last 24. Neat lobby with and market, bar, and restaurant. Free Tesla Wall Chargers. Nice mattress. Hot water. Coffee. Neat river walk area with tons to do and see nearby. I hope to live long enough to make it back here someday soon. Peace and chicken grease! '25 - 14/111

Yelp
My husband & I went for a quick visit to see our son & stayed at Hotel Indigo for the first time. It was nice! Location is perfect. You can walk to University Blvd & the riverwalk is right outside your door. The hotel has a rooftop bar/restaurant called Look Out that is a nice bonus. Service is good, food average bar food & most importantly, drinks are cold! I would love to give this place 5 stars but simply cannot because I feel that the lobby upholstered furniture looks dirty. Normal wear & tear to be expected but for a boutique hotel at this price I think they should replace some of the furniture. As for the rooms they were spacious. I would definitely book here again when in T Town. See for yourself you will love it!

Yelp
Love staying here, clean rooms, friendly staff, Lookout offers great views and amazing food.

Yelp
Stayed at Hotel Indigo Friday and Saturday, night to attend an Alabama football game. Room was spacious and comfortable. A mini fridge was a nice amenity. All the employees we interacted with were terrific! Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the University and the strip, where all the restaurants & bars are. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Tuscaloosa.

Yelp
This hotel has gone DOWN HILL! My husband and I have been staying at this hotel since it was built and i'm here to tell you that the staff that is currently in place is awful. We arrived for check in and there was water all over the floor in front of the check-in desk. We told the front desk clerk, she walks around and looks at it- says, oh it's only water i'll get it later. (it may only be water but i still don't want to set my luggage in it thank you). She checks us in and as we walk away I ask for our parking pass because i don't see it - she says, oh they don't usually check on the weekends.ummm, not taking that chance either sunshine. We walk into our room to unpack and chill for a bit before we have to leave. We notice that there is no soap, there's trash on the floor, it's just sub par cleaning at best. We head to our daughter's house to see the grands for their annual halloween party and when we return we head to our room. We get off the elevator on the 4th floor and the smell of weed knocks us down. The loud music is thumping like we're at a rave. I call the front desk and i'm pretty sure after the check-in experience i'm not going to get this resolved promptly or even at all. At 10:30 I call again and requested that we be moved because we weren't going to get any sleep in that room. We pack up everything and head to the 3rd floor where we walk in and the heat is stagnant but it doesn't reek of weed so that's a plus. Now we are old- I mean, we watch wheel of fortune and go to bed old so it's late for us. We finally lay down with no noise and almost fall asleep when a car alarm begins to go off and we are lucky enough to have the flashing lights that accompany the alarm dance on our ceiling. My husband gets up to make sure that it's not our vehicle and we just wait for whomever to come turn it off. Whew- finally, it's off. But wait, round two is coming and the alarm goes off again. Yay!! The alarm finally goes off and we fall asleep, I wake up at 3:45 because i'm hot and my husband was already awake for the same reason. We get up to turn the air on and you guessed it- it's broken. I call down to the front desk and she said come down and get a key to another room. At this point, i just want it to STOP I look at my husband and say, do you just want to go home. So we go down to the front desk and this girl wins the RUDE award. I say to her, we are going to just head home and would really like a full refund of our stay. She is counting money and never even looks up at me and says, "I ain't doin that, you gots to talk to the manager and they ain't here" Not an I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, kiss my a$$ or anything- so so rude. So my husband and I leave the hotel at 4:45am and being an IHG rewards member decide to call them and inform them of our stay. She takes down all the information, listens to our experience and then said she can't refund our money because she doesn't have that ability but what she can offer is points. She says, I'll give you 15,000 points and I said well how many points would it cost me to stay at the hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa (King) - she looked it up and it would cost me 21,000 points. I said well then why would i accept 15,000 - she says, well i can do 18,000- I'm like, WHAT??!! now we're negotiating??!!! Why wouldn't you just give me 21,000 and call it a day??!!! In the world of customer service my motto is JUST MAKE IT RIGHT - but clearly that's not IHG's motto. Had I taken the 18,000 points she said the case would be closed and I said no thank you, I want a FULL REFUND or 21,000 points. I own a business and the reason my business thrives is because of my customer service. I mess up too but when I do, I own it and I make it right. Do better. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. It gets a 0 from me. So here we are, on our way home, typing a novel and waiting until Monday morning when I'm able to speak to the manager at the Hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa, AL. Wish us luck.

Stacey W.

Yelp
Very posh and up to date. I attended college here a long time ago (Roll Tide). A lot has changed over the years and all of it for the better, the hotel is situated next to a river in a quiet corner of Tuscaloosa. The rooms are very nice and super clean for the price and the food is pretty good as well served down stairs. They can be a little slow but worth the wait. Would definitely stay here again. The parking is great as well for larger vehicles.

Yelp
This is one of the worst run IHG hotels we have ever stayed at!! We are diamond elite members so we KNOW how IHGs are generally run! When we came to check in at 4:30 we were given a room across the street in the far back corner! I asked for a room in the main building and was told they were sold out. When we got to our room I once again checked the app, then again at 6:30, 7:45, 9:45 and 11:05... each time there were three rooms left that were NOT in the building across the street and were eligible for our government rate... When asked, Gracie at the front desk told me she did not have other rooms and didn't care if I was unhappy! I am older and going out in 20 degree weather to acquire necessities in the "main hotel" is difficult. We chose this hotel because there was to be a restaurant and bar in the hotel. We were told the restaurant opened at 5 but were not told where it was. Nothing was mentioned about the bar!! We later found out that the restaurant and bar are apparently on some upper floor and the bar on the main floor that never opened was not where we needed to be... Gracie saw us looking and waiting and never bothered to ask if she could help or direct us to the proper place. Our room was obviously not clean, and they apparently store the old beds in the step child building across the way because we were very uncomfortable! The checkout was not any better than Gracie the night before! The morning desk attendant was put out that I wanted a receipt and didn't bother to ask how the stay was. No one acknowledged our tier level, there were no directions given, we were given a dirty look because we are military and used our rate (which I made sure WAS available when I found three rooms left). Turns out the step child building is a bottom floor of college student apartments. We got to listen to heavy foot steps from the apartment upstairs and loud cars with loud music racing through the parking lot all night. The staff and the room location completely ruined this for us! Do not stay here, there are several other choices in the immediate vicinity...

Yelp
We'll, we went back to stay after the service recovery efforts the indigo leadership attempted after last weeks debacle. Checked in with everything being smooth and easy until we got to the room. At first glance all is well until we looked on the floor. It clearly hadn't been vacuumed. Potato chips on and under the chair and throughout the room. We told the front desk before going out to dinner. We came back assuming it would be cleaned up. It wasn't. I assure you I/we are not high maintenance but for the price charged this is simply ridiculous and unacceptable.

Yelp
1-5 Ratings scale, 1 being poor, 5 being excellent based on a 2 week stay. Guest services: 2 *hotel receptionists has no sense of 'customer first' strategy. Coffee is not available around the clock and my room was stocked with decaf. No complimentary water. Amenities: 3: Gym *adequate treadmill, dumbbell set, and cable machine. Small room, crowded for 2 or more people. No mirror in main weight training area. *nice rooftop/view for a drink. *no in-house laundry services Cleanliness: 2 *room floors looks dirty/dusty. I appreciate the frequent housekeeping but my floors and counters aren't being cleaned. Food services: 2 *poor food, do not recommend. No sense of urgency from waitstaff. location: 5 *walking distance to downtown and river walk. *Heritage Coffee, 9Round and BloGo Salon across the parking lot.

Yelp
Upon arrival I was super impressed with the hotel! The decor, the ambiance, the staff truly blew my mind! When I arrived in my room, it was wonderful, everything looked great. I left for dinner came back, went to sit in the chair, noticed it was covered in ants! I immediately called front desk, and they switched my room immediately! When I arrived in the 2nd room, it was good, until I noticed the long strands of hair on the sheets when I pulled back the blanket! I'm truly disgusted by this! I think housekeeping should wear hair nets if they cannot ensure their hair isn't on the sheets! These unsanitary conditions should not be in a hotel at all! This needs to be looked in to Period! The room looks great, but the ants and hair on the sheets once I looked up close were truly traumatizing!

Yelp
Very rude staff. We booked a room through Hotel Tonight thinking that requesting two queen beds at check in would not be a problem. We were traveling with our two teenage sons and were assigned a room with one king bed. Even though we offered to pay more for two queen beds the staff including the manager refused to help us. We will never stay at another Hotel Indigo which is sad, because they are pet friendly.

Preston R.

Yelp
I was told they would bring a mini fridge to the room since I would be checked in for 5 days. Never happened and the front desk told me that I can check out and go somewhere else. Very unprofessional. Now I'm stuck staying here for a week and my food will go bad. I have it on ice but will melt while I'm at work.

Dorothy H.

Yelp
This bar has a really nice scenery, the atmosphere was very chill. The young African American hostess was very sweet and considerate. However, my server could've been more punctual.

Renee H.

Yelp
Stopped in for the famous Boss burger made with jalapeños, grilled lettuce, onions and bacon with cheese. I opt for no bacon and the burger is delicious. First time having a full size, tried it as sliders. If you are ever in the area and hungry for a hearty tasty burger this is the place. Chef is friendly and takes great pride in his work. The hotel is very nicely decorated and comfortable.

Yelp
The service was poor, I would never spend my money here again. After driving several hours I had to cancel my reservation at the last minute because of the poor customer service. The front desk rep was very rude.

Matt L.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way from Atlanta to Austin, so we were really only looking for a place to stay quickly for the night. We got in around midnight and check-in went smoothly. About five minutes into getting in to our room we smelled a very strong gas coming from the vents. After talking to the front desk they allowed us to switch rooms to a different floor - not before telling us that the gas "wouldn't kill us" and that it was exhaust from the kitchen shutting down for the night. Unfortunately, the room switch wasn't very successful as even that room had the same exhaust fume smell. The beds were comfy but the gas headaches weren't that great. I mentioned the smell to the front desk at check-out and they hoped we "would be back in the future." Probably not. After check-out I also learned that I was double charged for my room. I contacted the hotel immediately and they said they "would fix everything and call me back." I waited a week and I didn't hear anything - nothing changed. I called back today and the problem has still not been fixed. A warning to all - avoid this hotel at all costs.

Dale G.

Yelp
How DO these folks stay in business?!?!? Have you ever called them to change a reservation? I have, unfortunately, TWICE. Both times were worse than the DMV. In fact, I have been put on hold for the third time and had plenty time to write this review. Other than the view, there is not a lot special about this hotel and, if you ever have to change a reservation and cannot do it online for some reason, good luck with that!

Brandon B.

Yelp
We stayed for one night on our way through TTown. We once lived in Tuscaloosa, and had enjoyed the rooftop bar a time or two. We were excited when we booked because there was to be live entertainment the very night we checked in! Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were announcements placed all over the elevators that The Lookout was closed due to technical difficulties. Oh! Well! We were tired anyway. Upon arriving to our room, we were pleasantly surprised by the clever design of it all. The bed was quite comfortable to sleep on as well. I Do think, however, that this may be the last time we stay, as, after using the bathroom to prepare for our departure today, my husband and I will be seeking counseling and scheduling Botox and/or Full Body Plastic Surgery. The lighting is NOT meant for pasty white folks!!! We arrived handsome, middle aged (+) men and are leaving wrinkly, shriveled, dimpled and emotionally damaged! LIGHTING IS IMPORTANT! Get rid of the OBGYN Dr.'s Office Fright Lights! Please!

Rena S.

Yelp
This time last year, we were in Tuscaloosa for the Kenny Chesney concert literally right across the street from the Amphitheatre. First thing you should know about Hotel Indigo-the location! We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the Amphitheater and were so happy we did! No driving to a venue and waiting in line before & after, not to mention paying to park. We just took the elevator downstairs and a few minutes walk, BAM! We were in our seats. What we did not expect or realize was the Hotel Indigo is also within walking distance of a great little coffee shop called Heritage House (see my review!)...and many good restaurants as well. Not to mention, the hotel is right on the river and the beautiful riverwalk! We came to town for the show, but ended up enjoying Tuscaloosa for many more reasons. We played tourist and discovered historical areas. We met friendly people everywhere we went. I even have to say that we did not feel uncomfortable at all walking around the area after dark. As far as the hotel itself...from the time we arrived til the time we left, there was a huge dispenser in the lobby, filled with cool water, enhanced with fresh fruit like pineapples and strawberries. This was much appreciated and so refreshing in the 90+ degree heat! After checking in, we had only been in our room a few minutes when there was a knock at the door. A most amiable young man and staff member advised us that a shipment of new bigger, fluffier, bed pillows had arrived, and he was there to replace ours. Why yes, please do! The room had a modern touch, but still felt warm and fuzzy! Sometimes modern means stark and pretentious, but our room was neither. Best of all, we were able to keep an eye on the amphitheater by just glancing out of our window. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay. We had to walk a little out of our way in the hotel to access some areas, but it was really not inconvenient. We were quite concerned to learn that our room was right beside the rooftop bar! We imagined concert goers partying like rock stars before and after the show, talking and stomping loudly past our room...that couldn't have been further from the truth! It was pretty peaceful in our little home away from home. I would most definitely return to Tuscaloosa and Hotel Indigo!

Karina S.

Yelp
The coolness factor is way up there on this hotel. Someone compared it to a Holiday Inn. I thought it was nicer and way more fun than a Holiday Inn. The decor and ambience are fun. The neighborhood (with the amphitheatre, restaurants, and River Walk) is cool. The view of the river from our room--through floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows-- was so relaxing (the windows are mirrored--you can't see in from the outside). And the layout and decor of the room was fun and airy. They did a great job with a small space. It did not feel cramped. Some people may expect more amenities, but I personally don't need a bleach-smelling, florescent-lit indoor pool or complementary dried-out eggs and watery oatmeal. For breakfast, we were way better off walking next door to Heritage House, walking down the River Walk (which is gorgeous) to Another Broken Egg, and riding complementary bikes to Holler and Dash on The Strip. I highly recommend taking advantage of the complementary bikes. It's so nice to not have to drive everywhere. The Lookout (rooftop bar) was cool. Good drinks, yummy hummus. The river looks pretty from up there. It also overlooks the bridge into Northport, which adds to the urban vibe. I would have given five stars if the toilet paper had been better and if our bathroom had been fully stocked. They gave us two rolls of thin TP for three days, and when we arrived we had only one bath towel and were missing a couple vanity items. Other than that, the hotel had everything we needed: a clean room, comfortable beds, and fast service. And it had a few fun extras that made it date weekend especially fun.

Phillip B.

Yelp
Room was nice and comfortable. Good shower pressure.. lol. The best part of all was the breakfast. Be prepared to eat if you get the Steak and Egg bowl. It was huge and delicious! Wife got it he Big Bama breakfast and she loved it. Highly recommend this place.

Eric K.

Yelp
We travel quite a bit and must say the staff was terrific and the location is very ideal. It's walking distance to many restaurants and bars for those that like to go out. Room was quite nice and there was plenty of room which allowed for a roll away bed for our daughter, although we requested a 2 bed room.

Montana M.

Yelp
The rooftop bar is awesome! Samantha Served us and she was also awesome! The food/drinks were great and Samantha's service was excellent!

Adam C.

Yelp
ordered a king size bed got there and room was queen bed called front desk the response was should have got it from us no help from front desk do not recommend for price

John M.

Yelp
Staying when school's out of session/not a game day. Was told I can't get let checkout because they'd given out "too many" on a Tuesday. Luckily, Hotel Capstone and the Embassy are right down the street.

Joshua S.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. The room is average however the shower doesn't work properly. They've charged me three times for my room incidentals and I've talked to the front desk twice about having this fixed and they haven't. Over 750 dollars in charges not even including what I paid to book the room. Its absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. Stay somewhere else, anywhere else. Just don't waste your money here.

Mike M.

Yelp
I have traveled at least 1-2 times per month for the last 10 years for personal and work and have yet to write a negative review on Yelp. This will be my first. We stayed in this hotel at an exorbitant rate for an Alabama football game. The ambiance was pleasant and the receptionist at the front desk was very gracious. That said, we left the room for the entirety of Saturday and came back to a bathroom that had another person's belongings in it (hair brush, mascara) and a hair dryer out that we did not use. We called the front desk and they told us they would handle in the morning. After an uncomfortable night of sleep, we discussed with the front desk, who indicated they would review and get back to us with a discount after discussing with the hotel manager. 2 days later, we were told that they believe it was one of the maids and that they would look int compensating us for the negative experience. Since then, the hotel has continued to pass us around to different contacts, reversing course and claiming that no one had been in our hotel room, and that our story has "inconsistencies" in it. Given our story has been the exact same since we checked out, I question their understanding of the word "inconsistency." Our stay at Hotel Indigo was very unpleasant, and dealing with the unprofessional management team since has been an even worse experience. Suffice to say we will not be going back to Hotel Indigo or any of the parent company's properties ever again, and suggest you avoid as well.

Chip C.

Yelp
We came in one night to eat at the restaurant before going to a concert at the amphitheater nearby. After we came in, several others did as well. Couple of notes on this: there isn't much space, and they are definitely not equipped to deal with a rush. It's a nice, relaxed atmosphere, but only really equipped to handle a few tables at a time. We got our food, but others were told it'd be a 45+ min wait. Food was good, but not worth that kind of time.

Esther K.

Yelp
This is a very upscale clean hotel. Staff is very friendly. Lobby has bicycles for rent. Top notch breakfast. Free wifi. Downstairs in the lobby has a full bar and a roof top bar. Honestly one of the better hotels I have been in. One thing I did not like was how the floor was sticky as well as parts of the carpet. Also the bed was too hard for me so I did not get a good night sleep and woke up with backaches.

Bonni H.

Yelp
Got to my room and the bathroom door (barn style) doesn't slide so I called the front desk at 4pm to ask them to move me or come to fix it. At 5pm i went down & spoke to the manager who said she would have maintenance come soon because there are no other rooms available to move us to. At 7pm I asked the lady at the front desk to make sure someone comes to fix the door before I get back from dinner. At 11 pm the door is still not fixed. Won't slide so I can't get in the bathroom or shut the door behind me. By now I am furious & front desk lady says there is nobody available to help out it's late & I would love to shower and go to bed. Will have to wait until morning :((

Christie F.

Yelp
Very cute and clean hotel centrally located to downtown and within walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants. Clean rooms and comfy beds. The 3 of us were excited to ride bikes with the free rentals they advertised but they only had two which is the whole reason we planned to stay there believe it or not. That was disappointing so I took a star away...moohahaha, lol

Grace F.

Yelp
Their restaurant on the rooftop has slow service. Unless you want to spend 4 hours waiting on a cold small serving of nachos. Don't go. Overpriced and my food was cold. Sucks ass honestly I'm pissed.

Raya L.

Yelp
Never had any issues anytime I booked a room here. The rooms are very upscale with modern decor. Plus, the hotel is just a block away from the Downtown Nightlife. I also like the Lookout Bar on the roof top and some nights there's live music.

Mary Emily B.

Yelp
This is the worst place in Tuscaloosa I have ever been too. The waiters as well of the manager were definitely on something and the service was HORRIBLE. Waited an hour for a glass of WINE with barely anybody here. Worst place ever. Do no go.

Randi H.

Yelp
This hotel has the potential to be lovely. The location is great. We were so disappointed, when we checked in, the nice young lady asked where we were traveling from, we told her we had been on the road for 5 days and were exhausted. She mentioned the roof top bar having a live band that night until 1am. We told her we would be in bed by 9.. she then proceeded to assign us a room right under the bar.. it was so loud, no rest until after 2.. The bar and restaurant service at this establishment also lack basic customer skills. 6 servers congregated around visiting, leaving customers to sit and wonder if they will ever be noticed. We left and walked down the road for a great dinner.

MacKenzie S.

Yelp
Horrible service. The front desk informed me that I would have to put a $175 additional deposit because it was a night during gameday weekend (which I totally understand) and would be refunded to me on Monday morning. I've talked to 3 different desk people as well as the corporate office. I was also told the manager would begin at 3pm. BUT, Apparently there IS NO manager in charge of this particular hotel. Therefore I still don't have my deposit back and have no avenue of getting my deposit back except for a pre-written email apology. I've either been lied to or purposely misinformed on numerous occasions this week. Bad business.

Yelp
I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights from 5/28-5/31 for my birthday. This hotel has lots of potential but has so many problems to work out. Check in: The girl at the front counter was very pleasant, but she needs to give guests more info and more accurate info. She said they serve breakfast from 6-9am, and made it sound like breakfast was included. Came down the next morning to find out it wasn't but by that time it was too awkward not to order anything. She asked us if we wanted drink coupons or points with our check in. We took the coupons. Went to the bar upstairs the next night to find out drink coupons only include domestics, well drinks, and house wine. None of which we drink. It would have been nice to know before we opted for the the coupons. Housekeeping: The first morning I was there I made sure to leave a $5 tip because I believe in taking care of people who take care of me. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The entire time I was there my room was serviced but nothing was restocked except for the towels. Everytime I came back after my room was serviced, I had to walk downstairs to ask for shampoo, conditioner, make up towel, make up remover towelettes, liner for the ice bucket, and tea pods. And they wouldn't bring it up to me. They always made me go downstairs to get it. My god! This was the most aggravating issue during our stay. Needless to say, I didn't tip again after my first morning. Bikes: I was very excited to take these bikes around town and down to the river since we didn't rent a car while we were there. We are avid bikers. We ride about 20+ miles every weekend so you can imagine when we found out this hotel had bikes, we were ecstatic. The bikes are adorable, but that's as far as the good goes. All the tires were very low on all 4 bikes. We asked the guy at the front desk if he could inflate the tires for us. He said only the maintenance guy had the pump and he didn't come in until later that evening. Great. So we took the bikes out for a ride. We rode along the river, through the Alabama campus, and through downtown. We were gone for 4 hours. It would have been nice to be able to lock up the bikes so we could stop somewhere or a drink or a snack, but they do not provide locks and we did not want to get their bikes stolen. I'm from California and here, even locked bikes get stolen so I am very paranoid when leaving bikes unattended. The bikes are very heavy and clunky, and having low tires made riding very uncomfortable, but I guess it's better than nothing. The next day we decided to take the bikes to get something to eat. I would have thought that the front desk guy would have told the maintenance guy to inflate the tires since we mentioned how low they were the day before. No such luck. We decided to walk. Now let me talk about the good aspects because it wasn't all horrible. Room & common area: The hotel is new and clean. Lobby area is nice and open. Room was spacious and decorated nicely. I love the shower head. Bathroom door was weird but not a huge deal. Would have been nice to have a microwave and mini fridge, but I can manage without. Location: Couldn't ask for a better location. Beautiful view of the river. Close to food and bars. Close to downtown. Close to the school. Breakfast: Although I was reluctant to buy breakfast since it was a bit pricey and I thought it was free, it was actually really good. I didn't get my server's name, but she was very sweet. When I mentioned how much I like the food, she went and told the chef and he came out to talk to us. He was awesome, too. He talked to us for a while and showed us pictures of some of his other dishes. You can tell he's very proud of the job he does. I appreciate that. This was my first time in Tuscaloosa. I would like to come back to visit. I love the town, but I do not love this hotel so much. I would stay elsewhere next time. See you next time, Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide, y'all.

Yelp
We stayed for graduation weekend at Alabama. Like most big events in town, the room rate gouge was in effect. Not as bad as football weekends, but still overpriced for what is offered. We paid about double the standard rate, and $100 more than Embassy Suites up the hill, who was full. My attitude is, if I am going to get gouged, how about offering some good service, right? I didn't find that to be the case here. The Good: It is a new hotel, and therefor clean. Work out room was nice. The Bad: No room service (wtf!?). No microwaves in room (would be nice to heat coffee, right?). No fridge in room. Restaurant service (even breakfast) was so slow it was painful. (Better get this fixed before football games roll around. Slow service making Bama fans late for a game could get move this complaint to the Ugly category). Rooms were kinda stark and not much in the way of decor. The rooftop bar overlooks the interstate. The Ugly: NO COVERED ENTRY OR PARKING TO CHECK IN. This one I don't get. And no valet offered either. If it is raining, be prepared to get wet when you check in to this place. This chain hasn't appeared to have done its research for this particular market. They seem to focus on being a dog friendly hotel, but guess what folks, most parents don't bring their dogs to visit the kids in school, and neither do football fans for ball games. It has a nice snack area for grab and go items, but that is more of an amenity for business travelers. Maybe they have it to make up for the super slow breakfast service? I'm giving a 2 Star since they were clean, because they are new. I was very disappointed for the price. Hopefully they will make some changes and get this better. Tuscaloosa definitely needs some boutique hotels and people in this town will pay for quality. This one is just missing the mark.

Yelp
Wow! Can't say enough great things about this hotel. It's brand new, in excellent condition with large well appointed rooms and luxurious bathrooms with huge walk in showers. Rooms were immaculate and clean and exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Staff was really sweet, Sheila checked us in and she is a rockstar. She had beautiful energy and made our stay extra special. All of the other guests loved her too and people were hugging her goodbye. When was the last time you hugged conceirge goodbye? Exactly. By far, this is the best place to stay in Tuscaloosa if you are looking for a little luxury.

Yelp
We had a great experience here during a professional development session. Barnabas White made sure we were well fed. The food was incredible!!! The breakfast bacon was amazing, and the fried chicken was on point. Brandon Anderson and Tina Jones made our stay memorable. The rooftop bar has an incredible view of the river. The location is also great- within walking distance of some great food. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I have always loved this hotel but this weekend seemed to be a disaster at the hotel . It was football gameday weekend ... which is always busy . We have stayed at this hotel on gamedays and there has never been an issue . Checkin Time was at 3pm however our room was not available until almost 6pm . This was very frustrating as we were trying to make dinner plans but had to wait on our rooms to get ready for dinner . The front desk manager was very accommodating and gave us more than enough free drink vouchers to use in the upstairs bar . We also received breakfast vouchers . We have always loved this breakfast and raved to our family traveling this weekend about it . We got to the breakfast around 830. They were out of EVERYTHING . Potatoes , eggs , fruit , water , no cups , milk , juice . There was some overly salted bacon and a biscuit I managed to scrap up. I went to the bar and asked for a glass of water but she wasn't allowed to get me one because it needed to be a plastic glass . ‍‍ Finally she refilled the water while texting on her phone in plain sight at the bar . I went to get a glass from the plastic cups I was banished to and there was NONE . I got a milk instead . She came and asked why I didn't get water ... because there are NO CUPS and I'm apparently not allowed to just have a regular glass from the bar . Needless to say we left around 915 still hungry ... I expected much more from this hotel . The only positive was the front desk manager on Saturday night , I wish I had gotten her name ! The rooms were clean , fresh and very nice .

Yelp
This hotel is very clean and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. They have an amazing employee, Sheila at the front desk. She was the saving grace to our debacle at getting into the hotel. She was gracious enough to make sure we got everything up to the room. She definitely went above and beyond! This hotel has the potential to earn 5 stars but someone did not plan very well. The front of the hotel is not clearly marked, maybe because they don't have a covered area to pull under for loading and unloading. Of course it was raining when we arrived, we got soaked getting into the hotel. Their luggage carts leave a lot to be desired - they don't have a place for hanging bags so as we were getting soaked, we were having to stack clothing bags and other luggage. WARNING: Parking in front of the hotel will result in a parking ticket unless you are only staying two hours. There are signs on all spots along the building, thought we were safe backing into a space across from the building (no sign). Woke up this morning and realized there were signs on either end...a little difficult to see at night in the rain. The parking ticket was easy to see in the daylight!

Yelp
Terrible customer service! They just charged me $526 for a FREE CANCELLATION with proof of the terms! Zero stars should be an option!

Yelp
We went for a college visit and decided to stay here. The room they gave us was not in the main hotel, but across the parking lot. The room was extremely dirty and the bed sheets were stained. The phones were down so I had to walk through the rain x2 to get clean sheets. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Yelp
I stayed here for the first time on a recent business trip. The hotel ,lobby is very well appointed. My room was clean and comfortable. They were having a private party at the hotel restaurant but there were plenty of good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa for an Alabama football game, paying close to $1,000/night. When my boyfriend and I returned to our room after the game, and after having been out all day, we returned to find that the bathroom in our room had been used - the hairdryer was left out (neither of us had used it) and someone else's makeup was sitting on the counter. I immediately called the receptionist, who assured me no one had used our room while we were out. After going back and forth with the hotel for days after my stay, they admitted it had to have been one of their housekeepers - meaning their staff had been using my hotel room to get ready in and for personal reasons. I have called the hotel nearly ten times to resolve this issue, with little to no response.

Yelp
3.5 really, loved the rooftop deck and location, stayed a couple of nights, the bed got made but nothing replenished, including the towels on the floor. Very clean but had a higher expectation. Will stay there again as the premium options are limited in Tuscaloosa.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Friendly staff. Clean. Updated. Beautiful river front location. They were very accommodating when our daughter joined us and I needed a room change.
