I recommend this hotel only if you cannot get a reservation elsewhere or your tour operator booked you here The entrance is pleasant enough and a staff member will carry your bags up the flights of stairs if necessary. There are NO ELEVATORS! A member of the staff, thinking none of us spoke Spanish, made rude comments about personal appearances and clothing of the guests, both men and women. None were complimentary and most were rude and crude. As we entered our rooms there were audible gasps. Tiny, well we could live with tiny. Peeling paint, floors separated from floor boards, no storage space, a mildewy cupboard...you get the picture. There is no safe available. There is also no luggage rack. I pushed a chair backward against the cupboard so that I could both open my suitcase and sleep. The rooms surround an indoor courtyard. The bedroom window does have a curtain, the bathroom window does not. From an upper floor you can see in! It's very| disconcerting to need to use the bathroom and see people sitting outside your window . The bathroom does look recently refurbished. There is a sign warning a $15 fine if you use a towel on anything other than your body and hands. Oops, no hair dryer. I hope they don't inspect the towel and fine me for drying my hair! The tiles are slippery and there are no grab bars. There is no fan in the bathroom. This hotel is beyond noisy. I| thought someone was knocking on the door and it was two flights up! You can hear many conversations and activities even when there is no one in the courtyard. There is a bell that rings incessantly throughout the hotel day and night. It sounds like the bell when an elevator door opens though remember, no elevators. There is no way to control the air temperature in your room. You must leave the hotel to eat. Try to stay elsewhere. However, the man who appears to be the manager is very nice. ||
