This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had! We arrived prior to check in and wanted to explore the city by ourselves for a few hours. It turns out the hotel is in the middle of nowhere in a pretty shady part of town. There were no stores, cafes, or site-seeing spots within walking distance. The staff did not help us at all--they didn't even have maps. I don't think anyone there spoke English or even Spanish. There wasn't a cab stand and the staff had to call cabs for at least 100 people, so it took forever to get to the waterfront.||Upon returning to the hotel after check in time, the staff wouldn't talk to us about our rooms. They took my passport and disappeared. Any time I tried to talk to anyone they ran away!||We finally were set up with a room at around 6pm. The lobby bar was tiny and there were no others places to go, so we went to the pool area. It was pretty nice and had a great view of the city, but only 6 chairs for hundreds of guests. The bar-tender was only on duty sporadically, and didn't have many of the drinks or ingredients.||Our check out wasn't until noon the next day, so we wanted to sit by the pool but it was closed for maintenance.||The rooms were nice and airy. Only 2 elevators of 10 people for 17 floors, so long waits. The food was cheap but pretty bad. ||This was not a cheap hotel and I expected much more!
