We loved our 2 night stay at the Iroquois Hotel! The front receptionist staff were lovely, and the amenities were great. Having easy chairs to relax in on the 2 gorgeous porches, along with cookies and lemonade was perfect. Our room was delightfully outfitted with everything, and it was turned down for us when we had gone to dinner. The accessibility from the dock was awesome, and having the grounds to go out on, or sit in their rocking chairs was perfect. We loved our meals at the Carriage house both nights..our different servers, Gabrielle and Sophie were very professional and fun to be with. In the morning, the continental breakfast was generous and gorgeously displayed. Fresh linens each time, and a beautiful vista to gaze upon. I would highly recommend this hotel and know that you are going to love it!

This was our first time on the island and a friend suggested this hotel. We absolutely loved this place! While it is a historic building the feel is warm and welcoming. Our room was a suite that had a view of the water. Our luggage was delivered from the ferry directly to our room. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious. The staff was exceptional and responsive to our needs. We enjoyed the nightly turn down. The location of the hotel is ideal - on the outskirts of the busy Main Street area but still convenient enough to walk around. The attached restaurant ( the Carriage House) was one of favorite places to dine. We will definitely look to stay at this place when we return.

Google
Hotel Iroquois was a true delight. The staff was so welcoming with smiling faces and went out of there way to make you feel like family not just a guest. The food and drinks were delicious. The location was perfect. The beds were a smidge harder than we are used to but I would still go back. There is no elevator so if you are on level 2 or 3 there are a lot of stairs to walk however I found it so nice to be able to get in extra exercise.

Google
This location is seriously top-notch! They blow it out of the park when it comes to service.🙌 The property is beyond beautiful sitting right on the beach. Our room was nicely decorated and exactly what we needed. Now, for breakfast, they served the best blueberry muffins I've ever had! 🤌 They had a nice variety of healthy food so we could leave feeling satisfied. Overall, we will definitely be staying with this hotel again! Thank you to all the friendly staff for your helpful accommodations🥹

Google
Great 2-night stay at Iroquois. It is steps away from Ferry terminal, at the end of a busy street. If you need more quiet and solitude, consider another property but this worked great for my wife and I. Rooms a bit small without many amenities (coffee maker, fridge, etc.) but were super clean. Continental breakfast served in their dining room (The Carriage House) with super views of the water. The star is their restaurant; dinner was superb. If you want an outside table during the warmer months I would make a reservation (they turn on space heaters as well).

Google
Hotel Iroquois was absolute perfection. Our room was beautiful and spotless, and the whole hotel felt quiet, charming, and elegant. The location was ideal—right by the water and Market Street shops. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We dined at The Carriage House four times, and every meal was delicious, with excellent service, scenic views, and lovely piano music. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else!

We were there for my wife's birthday on which I believe was the opening weekend. Exceptional service. This was not our first time staying at the Hotel Iroquois and each time we come back we appreciate it a little bit more. We are returning in early August 2025 for a few nights and surprising my mother for her birthday. Its a milestone and we looking forward to the surprise. See you soon. Oh...looking forward to dining in your restaurant, it was not open yet on our last visit.

Room 101 Room with a view and patio. Awesome hotel. She's  a beauty! Check in and out was a breeze. Young lady was beyond helpful. Porer delivered our luggage from the ferry right to our room. Poryer also returns luggage back to the ferry. Very nice young man. Room was beyond comfortable. And cute as a button. Bathroom well appointed. Thick soft towels. Bed just like home. Open the doors ( with screens) at night and let the breeze in. Only con was our balcony opened up on a public park/ beach area so daytime noise could get a bit loud. Housekeeping stops early evenings with water and mints. Only con I can think of is purely petsonal...TV is mounted about 12 inches too low for laying in bed to watch Breakfast basic. Cold meat/cheese. Muffins, breads. Fruit, cereal parfait. Yogurt which is good spread on thecsweet breads. Hard boiled eggs and fruit. All very good. The view from the dining room is stellar.

Yelp
Could not do better especially after knowing the price of that big wood hotel on the hill - the one with the big porch. Clean, pristine even, took care of little things for us like luggage and carriage and taxi tours. Not too mention the best pork chop ever ...

Yelp
The food was wonderful. The view while dining for lunch was wonderful. Our waiter, Carter, was on point.

Yelp
This was our first trip to Mackinac Island so I did a lot of research on where to stay and am so pleased with the choice of Hotel Iroquois. The location is perfect- at the end of Main Street so you're close to the ferries, bike rentals, restaurants and bars, but not right in the middle of the hubbub. It also affords amazing views of the water and the two historic lighthouses, as well as both sunrise and sunset. The hotel itself is also lovely- the owners have done a wonderful job of preserving the historic integrity while enlarging and modernizing it. Unlike some historic hotels, the room and bathroom were not ridiculously small- both were very comfortably sized. I love the hotel's decor, which is bright and "islandy" yet tasteful and clearly very carefully curated. Though the hotel is relatively small, there are great common spaces, including comfy reading nooks, a cozy front porch and larger round sunroom, as well as a huge outdoor patio and deck which are perfect for cocktails and dinner. Really loved this special little hotel and hope to come back!

Yelp
our room was adorable. small but plenty for our needs. the chocolates/waters and turndown service were nice. decor in the entire hotel is quaint and clean. the shared porch off of our room was our favorite spot to relax and read. the bed was great. unfortunately the room was very loud. the air conditioning unit clicks on/off all night with a gushing water noise. this one we could manage but starting early in the morning the banging above/around us made it impossible to sleep past 7 or so. overall a great place to stay. nice location

Yelp
No words can express how exceptional the hotel and restaurant are .The restaurant, overlooking the water and the wonderfully prepared food was well worth the visit and price our meal was accompanied by music from the live piano music , and staff service was excellent . Looking forward to a return visit next year.

Yelp
Booked a reservation through the hotel's own website. They called the next day and said the advertised rate was in error and we would have to pay twice as much. They pointed to a disclaimer on their website that said as much. When I called they said this happens all the time, that the third party web site party often makes this mistake and they have no interest in going with a web developer who is competent. My advice is don't even do business with these bait and switch con artists as they have no intention of honoring any price advertised on their web site.

Yelp
The restaurant at this place has a very pretty view BUT! SERVICE IS VERY Poor, except for El Borrego (Justin) at the bar!! We had a reservation at 5pm got there at 4:30 were told dining room opened at 5 so we decided to have a drink while it opened at 5 people started to get sitted so we approached the host to get our table, they got us a table near the door, it was bit chill there were plenty of tables available and we asked for changing to another one due to a lot of airstream coming on our way, the waiter said he would take a minute to see if you could get another table, then he came back and said no, when the room was completely empty, so very disappointed it even felt a little racists from them. we ended up leaving without having dinner.

Yelp
We stayed here for our 25th anniversary. We were excited upon arrival to see wine, wineglasses and chocolates waiting for us. The room was spotless and adorable. Staff was welcoming and kind. Gorgeous common areas with beautiful flowers, decor and windows. Breakfast was simple, yet of high quality and sufficient. Coffee was a bit weak, but it was appreciated. Turn down service at night with chocolate and water. Cons: We were on the 2nd floor. It's an old building so it was very noisy. Made it difficult to sleep. Could hear almost everything from the hallway. Our sheets the first night we're very itchy. Room service changes them the next day. And when they saw me the next day they made sure that we were more comfortable. The bed was probably my biggest disappointment. It just was not very comfortable. No refrigerator in the room. However, it did come with phone chargers.

Yelp
We were on Mackinac Island for our wedding anniversary. My wife wanted to have lunch at the Hotel Iroquois on our anniversary. I made reservations in the morning for lunch that afternoon. We were very happy that we were seated outside on the patio with a great view of the Mackinac Bridge and Lake Huron. The service was immaculate, the food was delicious and the drinks were refreshing and tasty. As we have stayed at many places on the island, Hotel Iroquois will one day be added to that list.

Yelp
Hotel Iroquois holds a special place in my heart. This crisp white boutique inn that greets you as the ferry docks has been the "home" lodging option for my family for years. Everything has changed, yet nothing has. The McIntire family runs a tight ship - in fact, Mrs. Mc lives in a house just steps away and is at the inn on a daily basis, making sure it's in tip-top shape. The rooms are decorated like most Mackinac rooms - bright and colorful, featuring pastels - but more pristine. We had a waterfront view this last trip, so we watched the sun rise and set through our shutters. Unforgettable. From the dockporter who takes your luggage from the ferry dock, to the front desk, to the housekeepers and wait staff, everyone is so polite and friendly. Never a bad experience here. Some favorites: dining at the Carriage House restaurant on the first floor (open to the public, not just guests), hearing the horses clip-clop from the circle porch, watching late afternoon kite flying at Biddle Point next door, drinks on the patio as the sun sets.

Yelp
Excellent service and location! Several restaurants and bar offer upscale food and drink. Always a pleasure and consistently high standards in all areas. The Grand is the Grand, but Hotel Iroquois and the Carriage House restaurant deserve a look for any regular visitors to the island. Locally sourced food freshly and expertly prepared

Yelp
Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Iroquois! My husband and I made our first trip to Mackinac Island May 2021. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and we're so pleased with our experience. We were surprised to have our room upgraded on the 1st day to a king sized bed and larger room. The staff was very friendly and helped us book a few taxis to different locations during our stay. We enjoyed the complimentary light breakfast each morning that included fresh pastries, fruit and yogurt. The hotel took care of our luggage to/from the ferry without us lifting a finger-that was so helpful! Our room was beautiful and had great views of the water. We had no issues at all with our room and would love to come back to Mackinac and stay at this hotel again!

Yelp
We loved it! From the moment the porter met us on the dock to take our bags this was a great experience. Excellent service at the front desk. Quaint rooms that are updated for modern times but still maintain the charm of a 120-ish old building. If we ever go back (we're from California), we'll stay here again.

Yelp
I just booked a dream vacation for my daughter and I this July. Everything was booked, the trip was given to her for Christmas during the time of covid. A few days after Christmas they called to tell me that the rate I was given was a "computer mistake". Instead of honoring it - my choices were to either pay 30% more or cancel the reservation. I couldn't afford that for an already expensive vacation so I had to cancel and also eat our airline tickets. My daughter is devastated that her Christmas present was taken away from her. Please be aware of any discounts offered while booking - they likely won't be honored when you actually book.

Yelp
I did not stay overnight at the hotel but did have lunch on the patio. It was my birthday and it was perfect. The food was top notch, the service was excellent and the view was unbeatable. My two dogs we welcome and accommodated as well. Highly recommended.

Yelp
There are a few very unique and wonderful hotels that are defined by time and place along with the culture in the building. The Iroquois is one of them. Mackinac Island may be known more for its legendary fudge shops, carless streets filled with bicycles and horse drawn carriages, but the blueberry muffins of the Iroquois' continental breakfast are legendary. I have been making a version of them for more than 30 years. The owner gave the recipe to Bernard Clayton who published it on his Book of Breads, a baking bible. The upper floors have AC, which is nice on the few hot July and August days. Most other times throw open a window. Their location by the water can't be beat, and their restaurant is fantastic!

Sandy H.

Yelp
Another GREAT (3rd) stay at Hotel Iroquois!!! The rooms are decorated so nice and they are all different. Staff is friendly, professional and super helpful. The restaurant, just go, I can't say enough of how fabulous it is!!!!! Location is the best to the main shopping/restaurants and the view is fantastic. Hotel porter takes care of your luggage, thank you David. I cannot remember our waiters name (jason, justin something that started with the letter J ) was excellent. Bartender was also really good and engaging. We won't stay anywhere else, see you in October Hotel Iroquois!!!!

Yelp
Every time I went out of my room my bed was made!! Great breakfast! Got us a taxi on time!! A simply beautiful hotel!! Nice price!! Handled our bags nicely!! Ordered us smoothies in the morning!! Worlds best hotel!!!!!!

Yelp
We didn't stay at the Hotel Iroquois (we had a nice gig at the Grand... see that review on my profile), but we treated some relatives to a room here early last summer. We were genuinely impressed with the place. The room was on the top floor (over the back garden) and looked out across the harbor. The room had ample space and large windows that let wonderful light. Two beds and a reasonably sized bathroom (recently re-done). The decor was Victorian-esque yet reserved and the blue in the wallpaper reflected the light from the windows wonderfully. Opening the windows gave way to a refreshingly cool breeze coming off the water and the sound of gentle waves. ...there was also the common ferry horn... but it was all welcome. I can't attest to the sleep-quality or food, but from being in the room and taking in the common-areas of the hotel, I can confidently say that it is one of the best hotels on the island. Contrary to the Grand, it is smack-dab in the action... though that might not be what you want in your vacation. Personal preference.

Yelp
Can I just live here? Stayed in the Mackinac Suite over a beautiful weekend in late August. Apparently we got unusually gorgeous weather, but we weren't complaining! After spending most of the day walking or riding around the island, coming back to Hotel Iroquois was such an amazing treat. The room was large and well appointed. The bedroom was spacious enough for sleeping and relaxing. Such a surprisingly large and well-done washroom. The tile work was really nice (maybe it's just me, but I like well-done bathrooms rather than the pre-cast plastic kind). Large separated washroom with a room for the toilet and tub/shower and a room for the sink. Great for getting ready with the family. The living room area was well appointed with a sleeper sofa, TV, dining table, and kitchenette. Love the fudge and champagne welcome. So sweet. The view of the lake and picnic area, with kites flying and geese hanging out, was so pretty. Other reviewers complained about the noise, but all we heard was the birds and the waves. So peaceful at the end of the day. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant with outdoor dining had great food and was accommodating for our wishes to relax with a glass of iced tea and cheese plate. The bar staff inside was equally friendly and not at all concerned by our lingering. The light morning breakfast was just enough to start the day. Just a note: Our room was tastefully decorated with bead board and unobtrusive wall paper. Glancing in some of the other rooms, it was a pattern explosion of wallpaper and floral fabrics. Just beware if you're not into lots of wallpaper and pattern. Only bummer: They're only open during the summer season. We'd love to come back in winter, but would only want to stay here!

Yelp
This is one of the finest hotels on Mackinac Island. Its accolades include being on the Travel + Leisure magazine top 500 hotels in the world list and the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List for 2005. The hotel is located at the SW end of Main Street with an excellent view. Porters will take your luggage from the ferry docks right up to your room. The Shepler's and Star Line docks are the closest to the hotel. We were comped to a marina view room that had a spectacular view over the top of Main Street to the Fort on the hill. The room size is spacious for the Island, decorated in the Victorian-cottage style so popular there.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
The water front room they initially gave us wasn't as it looked on the website upon arrival (was more of a street-side view), so they moved us to another waterfront room that did look like the photos. The walls are thin.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
You can pay more elsewhere on the island but the experience at the Iroquois is second to none on the island. Location, service, ambience, and features cannot be beat. Restaurant is excellent, and the patio is the place to be ... weather permitting. Rooms are modern and comfortable with all the amenities. Service is personal and outstanding.
google avatar

Meredith C.

Yelp
Two words: cucumber water. After a grueling ferry ride to the island nothing quenched our thirst as impeccably as the cucumber water in the lobby of the hotel Iroquois. Despite not having a reservation room or any type of affiliation with the hotel they truly honored us and the staff served any need possible. Upon entering, the hostess led us to a dashing table. As soon as the soiled and festering food on the floor caught her wandering eye, she demanded the naive and frightened bus boy to clean it up with a broom. We recommend this calm experience for the weary traveler, often returning for the cucumber water.

Yelp
My husband and I just returned from a 2-night stay at the Iroquois Hotel on Mackinac Island. The Iroquois is beautifully-kept, very clean (cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in), with colorful gardens on the garden side (we had a beautiful little balcony that overlooked the garden path), and amazing water views on all other sides. This hotel has a quaint, elegant charm--upscale but not stuffy. I read in a previous review that the guest looked at the roof as her view. There is only one room in the entire hotel that has a view that is not spectacular. They are honest about that room--it is the least-expensive room in the hotel (because of the lack of view). If you want an inexpensive room, make sure that the view is not your highest priority. Or better yet, pick another hotel. To really enjoy this hotel you cannot be concerned about every dollar you spend (keep in mind, hotels here have to make all their money in six months). Another reviewer was unhappy about the horns from the boats. Keep in mind that you are choosing a hotel next to a dock. Again, the least expensive rooms are on that side of the hotel. It helps to close your balcony door or your windows. When our door was closed, the horns were not a problem. At the Carriage House (hotel dining room) we had a drink at the bar (pomegranate sparkler was so yummy) and we sat outside for dinner. The food was very good, the service was outstanding, and the views continued to amaze me. I can see why this hotel received a top rating from travel magazines. A great place to get away and get renewed.

Yelp
If English Cottage and Martha Stewart had a baby and it lived on the waterfront if Mackinac Island, you would name it the Hotel Iroquois. I didn't know much about the hotel when I booked the room except I knew I wanted a hotel overlooking the water and the rooms looked beautiful and well appointed, more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was fantastic. We took Shepler's ferry over (which the whole organization runs like well oiled machine). Our luggage was waiting for us with our bag porter from the hotel. It was a stones throw from the ferry to the hotel. Like most things on Mackinac Island, the landscaping is lovely and there are also fresh cut flowers throughout the hotel. There are several porches/sunrooms where you can enjoy relaxing and taking in a view or people watching. Breakfast is simple (fruit, granola, croissants, baked goods, hard boiled eggs, juice, tea, and coffee). It's laid out like a photo shoot for a magazine v. typical hotel breakfast lounges. The views are spectacular from the dining room and I highly recommend it for dinner, as well. The staff is amiable and well dressed. It's all in the details here.
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights in October. Truly one of the best hotel experiences in my life. The location is literally steps away from the ferry terminal and all the fun of the main drag. The rooms were absolutely spotless, the staff was friendly and kind, and the bed was comfortable. All this, coupled with the charm and decor of the hotel, made it a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back.

Greg J.

Yelp
Price is very reasonable for the "everything" you get. From the superb service, ambiance, and the excellent continental breakfast we just enjoyed. More to come.

Yelp
In all honesty I am surprised this hotel gets the accolades that it does. Sadly it is truly nothing special. I would not stay here again for a multitude of reasons. Let me catch you up to speed here. Staff is wonderful! We got a warm greeting and EVERYONE we came into contact was really nice. That's it for the super positives. Everything else was simply mediocre. Rooms are decorated in the traditional Mackinac Island style. This one was bright and cheerful but truly nothing special. We paid over $300 a night and the room was in no way reflective of the price. For that price you would expect somewhat of a view. NOPE. We had a view of a neighboring roof. Not happy about that at all. The continental breakfast was meager and was well picked through by the time we got there. The sitting area was nice but nothing spectacular. Now pay attention to this part... IT IS RIGHT BY THE DOCK. YOU HEAR EACH AND EVERY DEPARTURE!!!! YOU HEAR THE HORNS AND YOU HEAR EACH AND EVERY DEPARTURE ANNOUNCEMENT! That completely ruined the experience. On a positive note you did NOT need an alarm clock because the time was announced every 30 minutes, literally. I didn't particularly want an alarm clock on my honeymoon but sadly it was not option. There are so many other cute little inns (and cheaper) I would most definitely stay at one of those next time. If you really want to splurge...go to the Grand!

Yelp
So this was a last minute hotel find for Memorial day weekend when we decided to travel to Mackinac Island, could not have made a better decision. Right when you get off the dock, the hotel porter is there to take your bags. When we went to check in, the room was not ready (which we did not expect) but they said they call us. So we decided to explore, we were on limited time. Once the room was ready they would take the bags up. So we took our purses and went on. The call was a few hours later, but the room was so quaint and perfect for what we needed, its was typical cost for hotels there. And the view is so beautiful right on the water. It is a perfect location right at the end of Main Street so you not in the middle of all the hustle and bussel. They had maps, and a very great continental breakfast of muffins, nuts, hot tea, and Cinnamon cakes, all on very nice china. The staff was so nice, and accommodating. Brought ice right when we needed it, held our bags (personal things too) while we explored the last day until our ferry left. Then they took the bags right back to the ferry for us. No fuss/no nothing! I never heard the ferry horns and slept very well here. I am gonna go back and visit, and I will be using this hotel for my accommodations!

Rachael V.

Yelp
Hotel Iroquois is everything a weekend getaway should be! It has absolutely lovely rooms, excellent room attendants, and I have to say, the meals at the Carriage House were truly incredible along with the outdoor dining experience right on the water. I would recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting! Don't shy away, the luncheon and dinner prices were very reasonable!
google avatar

Bob P.

Yelp
PERFECT! From the moment we walked in (our luggage from the ferry was waiting for us) to finding out our room was ready two hours early to having a fabulous room we couldn't have been more impressed. We ordered wine to be delivered to our room . . . I swear they must have been waiting outside our door during the call because it took only two minutes before we were enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the breathtaking view. We had lunch at the hotel on the patio. Best shrimp salad we've ever had. Hotel staff was the best as was our experience. We'll be back for sure.

Ann S.

Yelp
Great food and settings but I really wondered why we were seated in the back patio when they were many spaces in the front patio with many other people. In happens that we are Europeans with a hint of accent. This is not the first time we feel discriminated in Michigan. This is really shameful. We have been living in the US for 20 years and since we live in Michigan we are shocked to see that we are discriminated against.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Hotel Iroquois two out of the three times I've visited Mackinac Island. It is the best hotel on the island, in my opinion. The staff are exceptionally friendly, from the front desk to the maids. The rooms are so clean they practically glow and the breakfast is beyond delicious. The muffins are the best I've ever tasted. All the rooms are different and have lovely views - most of the lake. The only down side, if you can call it that, is that there is no elevator. So if you have issues with stairs, stay at the hotel anyway and take the stairs slowly! I won't stay anywhere else when visiting this unique island.

Linda A.

Yelp
This was our first trip to the island and we could not have been more pleased to have stayed at the Hotel Iroqoius. Everything was amazing, the rooms, the view, the location, the staff and the food, all were 5 Star. Highly, highly recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED it here. Stayed in one of the garden rooms with no air conditioning which I thought would be slightly uncomfortable, but with the ceiling fan and both windows open, was one of the best nights of sleep I've had. Decor was perfect, down to each little detail. Continental breakfast was delicious. Service and location fantastic. Could not have had a better experience!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the best! The rooms are beautiful they all have a beautiful view. I couldn't be more impressed with the staff. They were always so friendly. The breakfast was good and the dinner couldn't have been better.
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
The Iroquois is a really great little place on Mackinac Island that retains that turn-of-the-century charm on Main Street, but manages to be set on it's own private edge of the bustling tourists. The majority of the rooms have really great views of the water or the tail end of Main Street. Because it's located towards the end of Main Street, you get less noise than you would if you were staying right in the middle of the island action. The rooms are really big and decked out in a summer at the cottage look. Right next door a few steps is the island's library which is super adorable. You're not far from the Grand Hotel either. It's a few blocks up from the Iroquois if you're dining there. Don't miss the dining room at the Iroquois though! I had a really tender and wonderful filet mignon that was probably one of the best I've ever had.
google avatar

Victoria P.

Yelp
I've stayed at Hotel Iroquois twice now and cannot wait to return. The second we walked in the front door, we felt like we were home. The decor is adorable, the staff is helpful and friendly, and if you're on your honeymoon or an anniversary trip, they will treat you like a king and queen -- or at least they did for us! We were greeted with a bottle of champagne, fudge, and heart-printed sheets and an outrageous 180 degree view of the town to the lakefront. I never wanted to leave! Also, if The Carriage House is open for the season you visit, go! The food is on the high-end but delicious.

Ermelinda C.

Yelp
Amazing stay - great location as you get of the ferry, immaculate rooms - clean, comfortable and amazing view (of their garden - in our case), beautiful landscaping, outstanding restaurant(Carriage House) and a healthy and delicious breakfast was included. Will return here in a heart beat!

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant. Very kind staff. I ordered the filet mignon with whipped potatoes. I'm a steak and meat snob, and in very picky about the meat being cooked to the way I want. I'm not kidding when I say this was the best filet I have ever had, beating out many steakhouses I have been to in New York and Chicago. The beranise sauce is exquisite, and I highly recommend this dish.

Timothy W.

Yelp
Terrible welcome. It took 5 people to determine there were no tables available even with 6 plus empty tables. Hostess was rude as well as hotel staff. Their loss! Will never go there again!

LIsa W.

Yelp
Heaven on earth! Impeccable building and grounds in perfect location. Beautiful dining in gardens and garden rooms. Located on the water next to a park near docks. Gorgeous rooms with completely updated baths etc and most rooms have lovely porches. Very island feel.

Yelp
We stayed here on our honeymoon two years ago and can't wait to go back. We were greeted at the dock with a porter who carried our bags the short distance to the hotel. The hotel charmed us from the moment we walked in, and we were told that they had upgraded us to the Cottage Suite since we were there for such a special occasion. The small bottle of champagne completed the welcome! Our room was just beautiful, with a bright sitting area and a small balcony that overlooked the water. Everything was spotless. The staff was professional and friendly. The main floor has a lovely sitting room and a large porch/conservatory. Yes, the walls are thin and you hear the boats, but we enjoyed the sound. Really, we could not have had a better time. We stayed here two nights and then spent one night at the Grand Hotel, which was a complete disappointment. Wish we had stayed the entire time at the Hotel Iroquois!

Yelp
The view is awesome, the staff incredible - however the food is another matter. To put it simply: it is overpriced Elk's Lodge cuisine. The Conde Nast ranking is obviously out of date. We dined on overdone prime rib and baked whitefish,(apparently a soft-fleshed species of bottom feeder that is extremely popular in Michigan). No comparison to the actual Hotel Iroquois.

Yelp
If you want to romance your spouse, this is the place to be in Mackinac. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and this place is fantastic. We stayed in the tower suite overlooking the Straits of Mackinac and the lighthouses. Also able to see the sunset from our bedroom. They provided free champagne and the service was great. Their restaurant (The carriage house) was also excellent. Location is good as well. At the end of main street so you don't get the noise factor you might get at one of the hotels in the middle of the street.

Yelp
The view: 5 stars. My family and I have been coming to Mackinac Island for years, and we love eating outside here and enjoying views of the lake, lighthouse, and beautiful flowers the hotel has on their patio area. Service: 4-5 stars. We've always had very attentive and friendly servers, who don't mind refilling the break basket and water many times. And the most important part, the food: 3 stars. They used to have an amazing brunch that they no longer serve. Their dinner also used to be pretty exceptional, but the last two times have been a bit disappointing. The cherry salad used to be delicious and filled with cherries, but the last time I got it it was mostly just lettuce (hide and seek for a cherry or two). The crab and avocado tower is good, although very small for the price. I usually get a pasta dish, and the ravioli in pesto sauce this time was very good - filled with artichokes, tomatoes, and asparagus and a rich sauce. My dad had the filet and lobster, which was not good at all, especially for $62. The lobster was so bad he left it on the plate. He said the best part was the side of potatoes. My sister had steak with a bleu cheese bread pudding - usually one of her favorite meals but this time the steak was cooked incorrectly and the pudding tasted like it had too much egg or something. Saving grace: the bread basket. The blueberry muffins are AMAZING as is the bread with bit of cheese cooked into it. I would suggest just having a drink with an appetizer or the bread basket so you can enjoy the amazing view but avoid dropping $300 on a mediocre meal.

Yelp
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! We recently stayed at the Hotel Iroquois for our honeymoon and truly loved every moment of our stay. As soon as we disembarked the ferry we were met by Mark, the porter, who gave us a warm welcome to the island and brought our bags up to or room at warp speed. Everyone else we met at the Hotel Iroquois was equally warm and inviting. Our room was absolutely adorable and stunningly clean. We had a lovely view of the garden as well as the harbor. The Carriage House, which is the restaurant on site, was delicious and had gorgeous views. Coffee and the continental breakfast each morning is such a nice touch. We so enjoyed sitting outside on the porch reading the newspaper and sipping on cucumber water each day! Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and we cannot wait to come back! Thanks, Hotel Iroquois, for making our honeymoon so special and enjoyable :)

Yelp
We recently dined at the Iroquois Hotel. The view is breathtaking, but the service is exasperating. I feel like the staff knows they are getting their 20% no matter what and they don't work hard at all. Our waiter never came back and the manager claimed that the kitchen was just really backed up....save your money, drinks are overpriced and the staff is not well trained.
