Disappointing experience.|I always book hotels with fitness rooms as part of my "need to" list and this hotel had the fitness room under renovation for 2 months thus not available. It was not mentioned anywhere and the staff were indifferent to this.|The breakfast is nowhere near a 5 star breakfast and resembles a 3 to 4 star breakfast. Very limited selection of foods (e.g. no vegetables, almost no fruit, no eggs except self boil eggs) The food that was there was reasonable enough without being special.|The Spa is merely a tub placed in a room and a sauna next to it and it requires additional payment. Uninviting and very basic.||All in all nowhere near a 5 star experience.

What a great evening. The staff were so welcoming from the time we arrived at check in, to when we left. We had Ivan’s menu and the food was fantastic. The setting outside in the garden was very relaxing and perfectly fitted the food. We would love to come back one day.

The hotel and service is good, especially the food in the restaurant was excellent. But the room is really small and our room comes with around 1/3 of pitched roof. I cannot stand straight and need to bend myself down the whole time when taking shower.

Nice hotel, rooms are on the smaller side with a Michelin star gourmet French food restaurant. Not a great location for visiting Normandy historical sites unless you have a vehicle. No on-site vending.

Imagine going to a 5 star hotel and finding it was actually 3 stars. This is how our experience at the Ivan Vautier hotel felt. 1. Tired looking furniture from the 90s 2. Dark damp rooms that smelled bad 3. Noise from adjoining rooms and the road 4. Small shower head with limescale to a worrying level 5. One tiny square pillow on the bed for each guest 6. Our king bed was two beds pushed together with a gap in the middle 7. Our dirty Nespresso machine had off-brand Nespresso capsules 8. No shelf in the shower to put products on, meaning you have to bend every time you need shampoo 9. Ridiculous fitness area (see other reviews) that you even have to pay on top for, and ridiculous spa 10. Toilet is separate from the bathroom, and is VERY high even for our tall family Overall everything felt old and cheap - I would be less disappointed if this were actually a 3 star, but claiming to be a 5 star hotel is quite absurd

Dinner was very good and one star Michelin well merited. The waiter added to our wine when asked but was nervous his "boss" might see him. An obvious "accountancy" approach to fine dining is not clever but off-putting and the measures were otherwise too small for the price. Dining room OK but not 5 star quality and neither was the hotel accomadation. Receptionist on arrival was off hand with my wife when she went in to ask about parking. Front of house training required but she was OK with me. Bedroom was OK, very good shower BUT the bed was terrible and sank in the middle so we both felt we were hill climbing all night - springs were worn out which prompts other thoughts!! For the price of the overall experience to endure a lousy night's sleep was a disaster and pillows also cheap and rather nasty - a shame. On check out I suggested the owner/manager should spend a night with his/her partner in that bed. Also power socket for the coffee machine did not work - more attention to detail required to match the hotel rooms with the standard of the cuisine. Night manager very pleasant speaking excellent English for our very early check out.

We found the hotel team very welcoming. The room was spacious and huge bed. Bathroom also very spacious and lots of nice touches in the room - robes, water, slippers. ||Staff speak good English, but also spoke back to me in French when I tried to practice which was cute and appreciated. ||Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Friendly attentive service and food was exceptional. ||Breakfast was charming with good quality produce. ||Room was warm and the ac wasn’t able to be controlled, but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

My friend and I are traveling around France for a couple of weeks. We picked this hotel based on reviews and price. It was a good location to drive to Omaha Beach and the surrounding area. We each had a room with a king size bed, a very large bathroom with a wonderful shower and separate large tub. Free Coffee, tea and water provided in the room and a small refrigerator with snacks and drinks available at a modest price. Beds were very comfortable and room temp was great. Very quiet location and free parking. The best thing was Julia, the front desk staff person. Extraordinary service and assistance with everything we needed including ordering Thai food from a local restaurant because the restaurant was closed on Sunday night and Monday night, the two nights we were there. She deserves a GIANT Thank You and a Gold Star! I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to France.
