Stayed for a couple of nights as part of an escorted tour. |Lobby and entrance are modern. Restaurant was buffet style and ok. Some strange combinations of food (even allowing for the fact it is in Cuba!). Rooms are reasonably well equipped and comfortable. Silly things like no channel.guide for tv could be easily solved. Shower wasn't great and rooms could do with upgrading. Curtains not thick enough to keep light out. No locks on balcony doors and my room door wasn't secure, frame was loose! |Worst problem was the noise at night from neighbouring clubs and pubs. Music was still going st 3 am. ||Friendly staff, but this hotel could easily be improved to make it so much better.

Basic hotel, access to pool overlooking the beach. There is a supermarket and shop where you can buy some items. The room door needed fixing, so we had to push it hard to close it. The balcony was overlooking the city and from the other side there is a beautiful view to a nice Palace. We tried to shower twice but there was no warm water then the next day we were told there was a problem and they fixed it. Internet connection was poor in the room so I had to connect in the lobby where lots of mosquitoes bit me. Staff were nice and service in the restaurant really fast and good. Food was average but varied. One night there was a loud entertainment that we had difficult time to sleep.

Decent hotel. The prices of drinks and food were too high though. Some problems we found were the cards which barely worked, small amounts of toilet paper and the lunch. (Why can't you order rice/fries separately, when they are served on the side with other dishes?!) Also we were told there weren't any burgers, only to see them being served to other people 5 minutes later. Weird hotel, with an OK location and pool, but the overall service was disappointing.

We had three nights here during our Cuba trip. Like most Cuba hotels the Jagua is basic. All rooms overlook the pool so can be noisy with locals using the pool which seems to be the norm in many places.||On our first night there were several coach trips in and the buffet was rammed with space at a premium. The second night was very quiet and we ate in the snack bar. The third night we ate in the adjoining restaurant which was an experience.||We were without water in one morning but were supplied with plenty of bottles.||Like all our Cuba hotel stays an interesting but enjoyable stay.

As part of our trip to Cuba we spend two night there.||||Check in was slow as in most hotle in Cuba, wifi only in reception area and you have to pay for it. Room Size was average but dirty, cupboards ready to collapse and you could see the pipes coming through. In the balcony the balcony bars were full of rust,||||When we open the wate in the bathrooom blackwate cate for 30 mins. We went to the reception to complain and they blame the area saying that was an area probelm.||||Being a big group we asked our fellow travellers and indeed another one two room had the same issue so it was a hotel problem and not an area issue,||||Food was actually good and we like the barbeque in the villa style house restauranys oppsite the hotel. \roasted pig was indeed very nice cooked and tasty.||Next day buffet dinner was good for Cuba standards and same for Breakfast.||||Poor are rundown with lot of local the first day having parties there.||||It is o nthe beach side but quite a long walk to the city center.||||There is a mini-market for basic staff acrros the road.

Beautiful location and water views (although a long walk to the center of town), fancy lobby but we never had hot water. Hotel doesn't have a Cuban feel. but also doesn't live up to the melia name. Pool looked nice although we didn't try it.

1 Reception staff not up to the standard of all other hotels. ||||2. There is no inner lock to the room doors. This means it is always able to be opened from the outside with a room key. As a single female traveller- this || was unacceptable||||3. My balcony door did not have a lock. I was informed, that none of the balcony doors had locks (they looked as if they had been removed). ||||4. All safes are opened with the room door key. This means, housekeeping, or anyone who has access to door key, also has access to your safe||||5 So as a single female traveller, I had no personal security from either the room front door, or the balcony. In addition, any personal goods could be taken out of the safe at any time

Hotel Jagua offers a beautiful view of the harbor. The room was clean and spacious. My roommate and I struggled to open the door from the outside, each time we had to make several attempts to open it. The pool and surrounding area was closed for renovation. WiFi didn't work in the rooms and in only certain areas in the lobby.
