Yelp
Located in the smack-dab middle of Naha's Kokuasi Dori, the tourist center of Okinawa, the property meets the quality standard of Japan's premier airline, Japan Airlines. The property was formerly a department store that was re-configured to host a hotel. The staff are awesome, as well as the breakfast buffet, great location, a great property to stay if visiting Okinawa.
I was part of a group tour visiting Okinawa for the 7th Uchina (Okinawan) Festival and the property was where we stayed for the duration of the festival - it was a great selection/choice.
PROs:
* Awesome staff - very efficient, professional, and very accommodating - the cleaning crew and staff at the buffet are quick and very conscientious about ensuring all is good
* Breakfast buffet - mix of Western, Japanese, and Uchina/Okinawan cuisine (goya champuro, Okinawan soba, peanut tofu (yes)) and great beverages - coffee via machine that you select strong, weak, latte, cappuccino, expresso plus the usual juice to include chiquasa (an indigenous Okinawa fruit - tastes like a mix of lime, lemon, orange) and a chef that prepares eggs - sunny side up, scrambled (Japanese style, a bit runny, egg benedict, etc)
* As real estate agents state, the three words of importance...location, location, location...right next to the "Family Mart" you can purchase items to eat/drink, etc.
* Hotel has vending machines (usual drinks - water, coffee, etc, plus on the higher levels, beer!); two floors with SMALL washing machine + dryer combo; dryer takes twice the time of the washer)
CONs:
* Location (can also be a PRO) - in the middle of Kokusai Dori, limited in cuisine selections (lots of izakaya (bar food)) - although its awesome - walk down Heiwa Dori (more for "locals")
* NO GYM to work out - so you will need to run/do your push ups, etc
* Rooms have LIMITED storage - NO closet, NO iron/ironing board, NO microwave, NO dressers where you can store your items. So you will be literally living out of your suitcase
* Spotty wifi - it seems that the system has a limit and the rate may be throttled...especially at night (when everyone is on site)
A great property in the middle of Naha's Kokusai Dori, the property is a great place to stay for a few days. It definitely lives up to JAL's standard of service.
NOTE: everyone remains masked indoors - when going to the restaurant, you will need to be masked, do a temperature check, and don gloves when handling utensils
