Hotel Jardin Tecina

We have recently returned from a family holiday here. It was perfect. The hotel is so beautiful, lush tropical gardens, expansive sea views. Comfortable and spotless rooms. The food was delicious, we ate in the buffet and in other hotel restaurants. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and local delicacies beautifully cooked. Despite it being busy the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, remembering dietary requirements and always friendly. There was something for each of the three generations in our group from yoga classes to relaxing by the pool - my only complaint is that one week was just not long enough….hope to be back some day!

A lovely time here at this super hotel all laid out into avenues and gardens with rooms being in the little villa styles rather than a high rise block. We had a room with a view, highly recommended as avenue level villas lack privacy. Standard room, decent balcony and good enough bed, bathroom and air con.|4 pools and a spa.one specifically for the kids and always sunbeds available at all times, no need to reserve although there were a couple who did. A well stocked pool bar for drinks and snacks. We also spent a pleasant couple of days sunbathing and swimming in Club Laurel accessed by the hotel lift down the cliff.|In the evenings, drinks were on the main terrace (Beatriz de Bobadilla) where one could peek through and watch the (pretty poor) entertainment.|We booked bed and breakfast as we like to dine out and try local bars and restaurants in the local town. This didn't go quite to plan as the locals seem to open and close when they feel like it, so we dined in the evening in the hotel more than expected. However the buffet style dinner was reasonably priced, good value for money and had choices for everyone which was enjoyed by us. We did manage to eat out at La Cuevita (booking recommended), Don Tomate (closed more than open), Bogeden del Mar and Los Castanos (when open) and enjoyed all. VERY cheaply too.|However we must give massive black marks to the hotel on the following points. Bar Kristina was closed the whole time we were there as was the restaurant and terrace Gara and we only saw La Tasca open once, presumably due to storm Claudia. Also closing off three sections of the Buffet Bar Vinas when it was clear that there were people wandering around with nowhere to sit. Not impressed as this was by no means a cheapy holiday and no mention on the website that these facilities would not be available.|Happily use this hotel again if visiting La Gomera as long as I get the same discounts as this time round

Overpriced, unreliable staff, and disappointing food – Stay Away! Review: Our stay at Hotel Jardín Tecina was a massive disappointment, especially considering we spent over 5,300 Euro. The Service: We were given a verbal confirmation by the reception that we could shorten our stay and receive a refund. Based on this, we rebooked our flights. Afterwards, the hotel went back on their word, hiding behind "non-refundable" terms and essentially calling us liars. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable for a high-end resort. The Food: For a hotel in this price range, the buffet was a letdown. Most of the meat appeared to be pre-boiled/pre-cooked and lacked any culinary quality. It felt more like a mass-production canteen than a 4-star experience. Extra Costs: Despite the high room rate, be prepared to pay extra for almost everything. A large portion of the activities on-site require additional payment, which feels like "nickel-and-diming" the guests. Conclusion: There are far better places to spend your money on La Gomera where they actually value their guests and keep their promises. Stay away.

Due to a storm my flight to Gomera was cancelled and I could only spend one day at the hotel. After a long journey the check in at reception was incredibly slow, I stood in line about half an hour, the receptionist could not find my reservation which took another half hour. A huge hotel which occupies a huge area with hundeds of guests and rooms. Every night when new guests arrive from the only 2 flights a chaos breaks out. There is not enought staff to handle the guests. It was dark when check in was completed and I was left to my own devices to find the room in a labyrinth. Another guest tried to help and read room numbers in the dark, to no avail. Finally another couple knew by pure chance where my room was... This procedure took another 20 minutes. A 'welcome' like that is absolutely unacceptable for the price paid and the reputation of the best hotel on the island. The food was good, the atmosphere in the hotel absolutely impersonal. The hotel paid back the money for the night I missed out of its own accord even though it was not their fault, which I found incredibly generous!!

We had such an amazing time! A gorgeous location, with the most welcoming staff. Everyone working there was so much fun! Marco was a blast, who played beach volleyball and table tennis with us - such friendly energy and a positive spirit. Miguel who was one of the performers in the shows is the most incredibly talented dancer, it was a joy to watch him and the others perform. The shows are a lot of fun - we loved 'Moulin Rouge' the best! Also, the exercise classes led by Juan are challenging, which is great when you want to feel healthy - and we had a really fun time doing Aqua Fit in the pool as well. Overall, a fantastic time at a really pretty location - highly recommend to anyone staying on the island!

We were a multi-generation family of ten who spent ten days over Christmas at the Jardin Tecina. Overall we had a very good experience:|- We had three adjoining rooms together, including one suite. Their small patios had sea views and worked well for the children to play in safely|- Good quality buffet included in the half board for both breakfast and dinner |- Kids' pool with slide and 18 inch deep water was great for younger children to play without risk|- Compared to resorts we have stayed at in Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, the Jardin Tecina had a less crowded, greener and quieter feel |- The lift through the cliff to sea level was a great amenity allowing easy access to the hotel Beach Club (nice for a change and with minigolf etc.) and Playa Santiago (a pretty relaxed place with some good seaside bars)|- Friedly service and a good program of activities (tours by Jurgen were a hit)||It's more of a trek to get to La Gomera compared to the larger Canaries, requiring a ferry journey from Tenerife or an inter-island flight. But the island of La Gomera is beautiful and calmer than the larger islands (don't come to Playa Santiago for the night life), with great hiking and cycling opportunities.||We didn't have any real negatives. A family area for young children in the buffet would have been helpful. Navigation on the hotel website could be improved to make it easier to find activities etc.

Absolutely beautiful, the setting is glorious. So clean and well maintained , the staff look very smart really like the detail on the uniforms. We have spent most of our time at club Laurel around the pool down by the beach accessed by the hotel lift . Quiet and relaxing with a bar serving lovely cocktails . |Downside is we are only bed and breakfast and the options for evening meal is very limited so would highly recommend going full /half board. The restaurants on site are all fully booked and some closed on certain nights so our only choice is the buffet restaurant at 30 euros each! The town is within walking distance 5 mins but not much there, a few basic restaurants . We paid 100 euros return for a taxi back to the port definitely not worth it nothing there a few basic restaurants and a handful of shops. Would not recommend for children at all, mine would have been bored and definitely need to be half board at the least.|The breakfast buffet is superb and i look forward to it, everything is fresh, well presented and good quality, even prosecco if u want it! Again evening buffet delicious! We were very confused about the other hotel restaurants, either closed or fully booked and not clear of their location and which one is which???|Also the spa is fully booked from the day we arrived so couldnt get a treatment! We would return for a relaxing break but definitely be full board , if your happy to lay on a sunbead in peace reading then this is heaven . The journey here took a whole day, arrived in tenerife and had 4 hours to kill before our ferry to la gomera, the ferry then took ages and quite confusing where to go then another hour transfer to hotel on most horrendous mountain roads we didnt arrive until late evening and were told had to be a quick dinner as buffet closes 9.30! More provisions should be made for guests arriving late. Also a water dispenser would be ideal in gym !

A very disappointed experience. If you are not german or golfer, they don't really care about you. We were left finding our room in the dark on the day we arrived. Nothing was explained to us during our 2 weeks stay, we were simply directed to their digital display when we asked. One of the bar and one restaurant were closed, we were not informed prior to booking. Which left few options - the canteen, was awful: it was definitely not a 4 star buffet ! It was understaffed and the food was the same day after day and boring. The 25% discount if eating in the restaurants within the resort, is just a scam. Fortunately, we found some lovely restaurants in the village. Therefore, half board is definitely not recommended! |If what impossible to find a quiet space around the pool area or at the Laurel pool. We went to the Spa one day which was 'just ok'. At the main pool, which includes a kids area , there is a noisy water slide. There are too many transats around the pool (with german holiday makers lying down their towels early, as they do, even if they are not using the facility ! ) . On the other side of the pool, you are disturbed by the noisy kitchen ventilation units ! The public beach was the best for some quiet time.|Most of the staff did their best. It was apparent that there was not enough of them. The digital menus and everything else digital means also that there is no more customer service or exchange as the staff are fiddling with their tablets and is as customers! |We definitely won't be back .

In a nutshell: beautiful place right at the La Gomera coastline with breathtaking views over the sea and Playa Santiago. Hotel is laid out with rows of little apartments in a park like setup. Room categories differ by the "view to the sea". Simple rule, the better view = the higher category. Staff is friendly and helpful. However the food regime is not up to the rest. There is not a lot in the vicinity, so you might tend to go for half board or just eat on site. The main restaurant offers the flair of a hospital canteen, is noisy and loaded with masses of guests at peak hours and the food is European mainstream at lower quality level. There are options to upgrade to one of the four theme restaurants on premise, but even they wouldn't rank high in my option. Final remark: the WiFi totally sucks and gives you an authentic 80th experience. Summary: go there for a real tranquility trip, enjoy the island, have a rental at hand and eat outside.
