I normally never write a bad review, but in this case I feel truly obligated to warn other travelers. At first sight, the accommodation looks fine: the tents are decent, but extremely hot even at night. The shower is only cold (which we didn’t mind too much with the heat) and drinks are very overpriced. The staff, however, were far from friendly, despite many reviews suggesting otherwise. They were loudly watching TikTok on their phones, disturbing the peace, and kept both hammocks for themselves so guests couldn’t use them. They spoke no English and made no effort to speak slower Spanish or use a translation app to help us understand. The absolute low point was a serious situation involving rabies. Instead of helping us in any way, they did absolutely nothing: no support, no information, no sense of responsibility. On top of that, we were even laughed at. This was not only unfriendly, but dangerously irresponsible and shows an extreme level of negligence. When we later tried to give them feedback, they reacted in a strange and inappropriate way. Because of this combination of poor service, lack of hospitality, and especially the shockingly negligent response to a potentially life-threatening situation, I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of much better options in the park.

I had a great time, stayed 3 nights. Everything clean, bed comfortable. 15 min walking to the ENTRANCE, about 35/40 min to the actual start of the trail (minibus to the trek stops right in front the hotel, 5k Pesos) Breakfast starts 7:30, so you cant start before the parque opens in the morning, but everything before 9 will avoid the crowds. Dinner was very delicious and price ok. you can easily get there by local bus from Santa Marta (Mercato) and also return this way from park entrance, busses are frequent and start early (6 am, no need to buy ticket in advance ).

No recommendation & wouldn’t go here again. The place is almost at the park entry, means you have to walk one hour or take the bus everytime to get to the start of the trails.. the rooms have no fan so that it’s boiling hot inside. The staff wasn’t friendly or explaining us anything, we felt not like guest. As we were staying there they didn’t had drinking water so we had to buy in advance at the trail. I would suggest staying at one of the camps at the beaches it’s cheaper and much nicer than this place!

My girlfriend and I just spent three nights staying here. It was totally awesome! The place is about 1km into the park and there is a really cool jungle path to a beach directly across the road. It's another 3kms down the road to the other main paths but shuttle buses come very regularly. The place itself is very simple. But you're in a national park so you cant expect 5 star accommodation. The owners, Pablo and Jenny, are absolutely beautiful people! They were so accommodating and lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Even with the language gap I found them amazing! I turned up with a bleeding leg, after a bit of a fall during some rock clambering, and Jenny noted my leg, pulled out her first aid kit and fixed me up while humming away in Spanish. Their dog Chupcaera is super cute. All in all it felt like we were staying with our family rather than at a lodge. Really cool experience!

We stayed here for 1 night on a visit to Tayrona. The hostel is located inside the park, about a 10 minute walk from the El Zaino entrance. (It is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel to the start of the trailhead ). We had a private room on the 2nd floor and it felt like we were staying in a tree house. Room was very clean and had a bug net in good repair. Room was open, so we could hear the sounds of nature all night. The host was so sweet. We really enjoyed talking to her. She made dinner for us that was fresh cooked and made sure to have vegetarian food for me. Hostel was super reasonably priced and highly convenient. We didn't have electricity in our room. The room had a shared bathroom that was downstairs but this was no problem. There was wifi that worked intermittently. If you need to get ahold of the hostel, they seem to respond to their whatsapp. Accommodation is basic. Would highly recommend!

We spent a night in the private room with an open roof, was amazing to hear the jungle sounds and very cozy room with only a bed and mosquito net. Amazing family dinner in the evening cooked by their private chef. Staff SUPER friendly and helped with everything. Remote place, showers and toilets outside and simple, but we loved it. 10 min by shuttle to the beach.

This is an amazing jungle refuge within a national park. I loved the vibe of the entire place. They’ve taken great care to respect the wildlife and the existing habitat. The food is great. It’s affordable and very easy to get to the coveted Tayrona Park beaches. If the place wasn’t cool enough, Nore and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I got sick and was traveling alone, and these ladies went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and felt at home. They even made me tea and soup!

This hotel is very close to the front entrance, but about a 30-45 min walk from the parking lot and the beginning of the boardwalk. There is a bus that comes approximately every 15 min for 3000 COP but they generally don’t leave until they are full so could be a challenge to get a ride to the head of the trail. Antonio has a motorcycle and offered to take you by bike though. ||||Amenities are very basic. Rooms on the ground floor have a private bathroom but it is not enclosed so you should be comfortable with whoever is sharing your room. Relatively no water pressure and cold water only - my husband showered outside in the rain for a better shower. Electricity at night but the outlet in our room didn’t work. And make sure to keep your bags zipped and shake out your clothing prior to leaving as guests of the eight-legged type can easily get in the room.||||The hosts are what made the stay worth it. Fresh meals based on what you order - they take your order in the morning and then go buy what they need for that night. We ordered fish both nights and the meals were completely different. Amazing home cooked food made the stay even more personal. Cocktails are delicious and most are made with fresh fruit - no beer though as they don’t have a refrigerator. If you’re looking to practice your Spanish, the hosts are happy to sit around and socialize, and their energy is infectious. I even got the chance to learn first hand how to make patacones. The next morning a group of us learned how to make arepas. ||||If you’re on a honeymoon and are looking for a quiet oasis, then I would suggest looking elsewhere. But if you want a more cultural experience with interactive hosts and a laid back atmosphere, then this is a great place. Make sure to have back up cash as their credit card machine isn’t always working and there isn’t an option to leave a tip - sadly we were not able to leave a gratuity for the chef to show our appreciation.
