Location is fabulous, on a quiet street in a great neighborhood a with an easy walk or public transport to all the sights. ||Rooms: We spend 6 nights here in two different rooms. The first was tiny with a window overlooking the air shaft, so it was a bit dark, but there was plenty of storage space for luggage and the bath was surprisingly spacious for the size of the room. We moved mid-week to huge room on a higher floor with plenty of windows and light. We traveled with friends who had a lovely room with a great view on the first floor. All three rooms were charming and clean, mattresses are great. Each had a tiny minibar stocked with water, cookies and chips. The weather was in the 60s and quite pleasant while were there, none of the rooms were stuffy, but I can see how they might be very uncomfortable in the summer without AC. ||Staff :Can't say enough good things about them. Very friendly and helpful. We had planned a trip t Versailles for the day we had to change rooms and the staff graciously offered (we did not ask) to move all of our belongings from one room to the other while we were out. ||Common areas, the reception and breakfast area charming. Breakfast was croissants, bread, cheeses, jams, butter, and an assortment of cold cuts. We loved the coffee machine! Part of this was a work trip; the breakfast area was a pleasant spot to sit and work. In the evening we had wine and cheese there (we brought our own but you can also help yourself from the honor bar) and were encouraged by the desk staff to help ourselves to the glasses, silverware and and plates in the galley area. You could easily bring in a takeaway dinner and eat in the hotel. Additionally there are two sitting areas, one by the front desk, one tucked away in the back. Yes, the stairs are steep and tight and the elevator is tiny, but the hotel is old and that's part of the charm. if you have mobility issues, this may be a problem. ||We would definitely stay again!
