Where to Stay in Vienna on Your Trip (Updated 2025)

"Housed in a historic Art Nouveau building, this modern, bright four-star hotel has airy rooms (double rooms even include desks), comfortable beds, large bathrooms with great water pressure, and a breakfast buffet I really enjoyed for its fresh fruit and pastries." - Matthew Kepnes

The 6 Best Hotels in Vienna (Updated 2025)

"Located in the Wieden neighborhood and set in a renovated Art Nouveau building, this stylish four-star hotel—named after the composer—has bright rooms with a soft, welcoming color palette and plenty of natural light. Rooms come with a flatscreen TV, minibar, coffee/tea maker, desk, and sofa, and there’s a lot of music-centered art around the property and in the rooms. The tiled bathrooms are huge with great water pressure and lots of light; the breakfast buffet is enormous and varied, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and eager to help." - Matthew Kepnes

This hotel was perfect for our 3 day city trip to Vienna. The hotel was conveniently located next to the U-bahn. The bigger Karlsplatz U-bahn station with more connections, including to Schönbrunn, was in 10 to 15 minutes walking distance. The Vienna Hauptbahnhof was within 20 minute walking distance or 1 stop removed by U-bahn. The hotel staff spoke both German and English. Our room and bathroom were both very clean. The rooms were well isolated, I didn't hear any noise from outside or from other guests, and slept very well. But note that our room was on the top floor at the end of the corridor, and didn't face the street side. 2 Pillows were provided per person so you could choose your preferred pillow height. Minibar was available for additional payment. The bathroom has a two-combined-in-one shampoo & body wash in a big dispenser, hand wash & lotion in big dispenser, and hair conditioner in a small bottle available. There also was a hair dryer, two glasses and a sewing kit. The only very minor downside of the room was that the water temperature in the bath/shower was hard to regulate and not very consistent. The hotel offers breakfast, but plenty of breakfast options are available outside too.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room immaculate and the beds very comfy. The hotel is in a historic building and has a lot of character. Excellent location right next to the underground and tram so you can get into the centre of Vienna very quickly. Yes the decor of the room is a little dated but the bathroom was updated and the other benefits outweigh some slightly older style decor! Would return

We were so impressed. Impeccably clean, wonderful service, quiet and spacious room with air-conditioning. Beds and bedding were so good, we slept extremely well. Very close to tram and metro stops and so easy to access central Vienna. Great selection at breakfast.

We booked our stay at the hotel 2 months in advance, but we had to change the dates; this was done hassle-free, thanks. On arrival, we were welcomed and the room was ready. A great room, very comfortable. The hotel is so stylish; the architecture is excellent, and its location concerning the main attractions and the Metro is great.|We enjoyed the breakfast; there was always a good range of options to eat.|Unfortunately, I became unwell during the last night of our stay. The staff were so good with advice and help in arranging for me to go to the Accident and Emergency at Vienna University Hospital. Tanja and the team are definitely 5 ***** !!!

Pluses: very convenient location - easy to walk to a lot of places and right by an underground station - two stops to Stephansplatz. Reception staff are helpful. Double glazing is good and keeps out the street noise.||Minuses: tired room particularly that the bathroom door was water damaged and wouldn't shut. Noise from inside the hotel: the nearby lift pinging, walls quite thin so could hear the neighbouring room sometimes,||For a four star, I’d hope for a bathrobe and some water. Oddly there were some disposable slippers.||Breakfast was in the basement and not really cheered up by the piped waltz music. The main issue was not enough staff to replenish items. Bread rolls were good, nice to have hard boiled eggs available. Smoked salmon lovely on the day it was there. Juice seemed to be from a packet and the fruit salad was bland. Also constantly running out of mugs for tea.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. They have a cot for our toddler and our room is spacious. The location is nice and close to metro. They have a parking and nearby public parking with a cheaper fee. But if it's weekend, parking outside the street is free. Overall, nice experience.

I booked this hotel based on its claim to be a four-star property, with air conditioning, hardwood floors, and a clean, comfortable stay. What I got was the opposite. The room was much smaller than advertised, with no working A/C ("off until summer") and a sealed window—no airflow. As someone with asthma, I couldn’t breathe. The room was dusty, stale, and full of old, fabric-heavy furniture that hadn’t been deep cleaned in years. I spent the night walking outside because I physically couldn’t stay in the room. Staff acted bothered when I asked for a sheet. The next day, they moved me to a cleaner room, but it still smelled like thrift store air and off-gassing drapes. When I asked for a refund for the remaining nights, they refused. This hotel is part of a larger chain, and their refusal to refund even one night shows a complete lack of care. This is not a four-star hotel—it’s a dusty two-star coasting on outdated “charm” and misleading listings.

The hotel felt more like a motel, and the early morning noise from the cleaning staff was a bit disruptive. On the positive side, the breakfast was good, the service was friendly, and the location is okay, not too far from the center.

Yelp
Stayed here during a weekend trip down from Prague. I was in town from Phoenix, AZ USA. The front desk manager happened to have just moved from the Phoenix area as well (small world literally). They were very nice and the hotel and room were clean. I highly recommend this place especially for the rates. Close to the train station and the central area near the Opera.

Yelp
Amazing! Quiet street, steps away from Taubstummengasse U-bahn stop. Service is top notch-- attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. Giant old school room keys. Solid white tablecloth breakfast.
