Modest hotel in a budget with great location. You get what you pay for and if you are not pretentious is fine. My complaints are mainly two: my room doesn’t have a working safe and is a hassle to leave every day my laptop at front desk. And two, too few electric outlets. Not enough for basic electronics in a 4-people room! The accommodations are modest and the rooms small, with tiny bathrooms and tight space but is fine for the price. I wouldn’t expect more for the fee. The front desk staff could be nicer but the restaurant lady is a gem. Is modest, fairly priced and well located. The rooms are not noise-proof and light sleepers, like me, can suffer. Mosquitoes are a hassle because of the beautiful central garden but after purchasing an electric bug zapper everything was under control.

Perfectly situated hotel. Good beds and shower. Most outstanding was the friendly and very attentive staff. Great value for money!!!

This is an extremely charming and quaint hotel that has a beautiful garden in the courtyard. It has an excellent location with a fabulous restaurant (Sarajevo) across the street. You can easily walk all over the central historical district from the Hotel Jovel. Our king bed room was large, but only had ONE electrical plug in (located in the middle of the head board for the bed). There was plenty of hot water, which was appreciated because the rooms are not heated and the nights are cold. There is a lovely sunny deck to sit on to enjoy the warm days. We appreciated a very smart way they supply potable water for the rooms. Each guest room has a pitcher and glasses in the room. There is a large water dispenser at the end of the hall. What a brilliant way to cut down on plastic waste! The front desk staff were very helpful with maps and directions. We had a safe in our room. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We feel like home! The hotel and room are clean, comfortable and quiet. Peaceful atmosphere with a beautiful garden. We had the tasty breakfast with the coffe and cinnamon which was very good. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! I recommend this place.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is great in the old part of the city! Tons of restaurants close by. Our room was small, we booked a double bed room - but we had enough room to move around. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom was small, but manageable. We had lots of plug-ins - unlike some other rooms. My brother's room was huge with a king bed - but only one or two plug ins! It is cold at night in San Cristobal, and the beds had adequate covers - and also 2 heavy wool blankets in the cupboard if needed. The garden and the roof top patio are very nice! Close by is a restaurant named Sarajevo - I highly recommend it!

Located quite close to the centre but not noisy at all, with friendly staff and a nice garden which gives the surrounding rooms a chilling feel in winter... and with no heating you need a good number of blankets to keep you warm in the middle of December. Our room was not very spacious but clean and comfortable. There is no parking space nearby (normal in this colonial city thankfully not adapted to modern traffic) but they will escort you to a parking lot a few hundred metres away where you can leave your vehicle safely. We had to travel very early in the morning and they kindly prepared some hot coffee to keep us warm. No luxuries but clean and well kept.

The garden is spectacular but unfortunately the rooms border too close to ugly. This hotel has the most beautiful garden in San Cristobal and the compliments stop there. The rooms are drab and unattractive painted.

A nice hotel with a beautiful garden inside and a rooftop veranda. We have booked via booking.com a nice room without breakfast, get the confirmation from the hotel and had contact about our departure time. But when we arrived, they told us, our room isn't free. They can recommend a other hotel. Problem is: they don't speak English. At the site on booking is English and Spanish as the speaken language. Google translate and our persistent thanks that we get for one night a smaller room and than a similar what we have booked, for the same price. I will never book there
