Hotel Julia

I’m going to give 3 stars because it’s a very noisy place. If you have soundproofing like this you should not allow people talking at the reception until very late at night. You will also wake up early as soon as anyone starts getting ready in her/his room hearing weird noises which was 5am in my case. The woman at the breakfast is a bit miserable and felt like the police watching you what you are doing, how much you are eating. Literally makes you feel guilty for eating what you paid for. They have the tiniest bowl for your oats, yoghurt and fruit so I prepared for myself 2 so I don’t need to be keep coming, and she asked me what am I doing?! The shared shower is over the toilet, the shower head is so full of limescale that not much water is coming out and sprinkles all over. The water is also just warm. The guy at the reception was very nice. Great location. Overall, I recommend for 1 night but not more.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. There are restaurants, tour companies, convenience stores, etc. right around there. The rooms are pretty basic, but comfortable enough. Toilet paper, soap, and towels are all provided. Breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly. Overall, it was a pretty nice place to stay. It was the only place I stayed in Uyuni, so I don't have a point of comparison. Still, I would stay there again. ||||The place wasn't without its faults. They mis-booked my reservation, so I had to switch rooms after the first day. My second room had a recent floor stain done, and the smell was terrible for the first night. Otherwise, it was a nice place.

Sometimes there is no hot water and the rooms are not perfectly clean, but the staff are very friendly and the hotel location is very close to tour operators. Even if you end your tour in the dawn, you only a few steps away from your hotel. On the day I left Uyuni, before boarding the night bus, I was allowed to stay in the room for a small extra fee, so I could rest and leave. I recommend it.

It was so very satisfying. For 2 days, I stayed in twin room with shared bathroom. It felt like we were the only ones using the bathroom throughout our stay. The heating is good, the wifi is fast, and the breakfast is quite good. The hot water is also very hot. and clean. The owner is also very friendly. The location is very good as there is a tour company right next door. I am very satisfied and would like to recommend it. And price was very economical. I think best hotel in uyuni.

Absolute scammers!!!I booked a room for 36$€ night,when i came they charged in bolivianos 60$!There was no possibility to pay in usd, neither in cash bolivinanos Basically their exchange rate is almost 50% higher.

It's a SCAM.Reserved on booking for 36 $ a night.When i got there it needed to be payed in local currency and they charged over 60$ with a horrible rate!There was no possibility to cancel reservation since preauthorized my card.Hotel is very stinky.There is no noise isolation.

After being kicked out of a very lousy hostel just across the street, we were glad to find this place and were met by a warm welcome. We were told beforehand that Uyuni can be a shabby town and that many hotels take advantage of tourists passing by on their way to the Salar, but we have no complaint about hotel Julia. ||||We stayed two nights in a double room with shared bathroom on the third floor. The room was clean, warm at night, the mattress and pillow were soft and the breakfast plentiful (buffet with bread, cereals, juice, bananas, coffee and mate). Excellent Wifi. The girls from the staff also left a positive impression on us, kind and professional. Very convenient location just in front of the train station.||||The only drawbacks are the low water pressure in the communal (hot) shower and the lack of soundproofing (but the hotel was far from crowded so not really a problem for us). ||||To sum it up, a good option for a few nights in Uyuni. Not much to do in the city itself, but the train cemetery (a couple of km from town center) is a beautiful and haunting place. Most of the tours just rush it very quickly but for those who like the poetry of urban decay it deserves a couple hours of exploring (to reach it by foot, just follow the rail tracks going south. A taxi ride shouldn't cost more than 5 bol per person).

The hotel has the perfect location in Uyuni - close to the restaurants and the tour agencies to arrange excursions. The hotel itself is basic but is comfortable enough for a one or two night stay. ||The rooms were clean and the shower had hot water and good pressure.
