"Where to Stay in Modern Antwerp Located in a pair of centuries-old Flemish townhouses in the center of town, Hotel Julien epitomizes Antwerp today: traditional on the outside, cutting-edge modern on the inside. Antwerp has the chic feeling of a mini Paris . Korte Nieuwstraat 24, 32/(0) 3-229-0600. This appeared in the January/February 2013 issue."

Beautiful space, with very charming atmosphere. The room itself was cozy and smart, but spacious for two on the go. Really friendly staff that were hospitable and helpful in making our time in the city an elevated experience. We really enjoyed started or ending the day in the lobby with a coffee or tea. Thank you!

Beautifully decorated, details are perfect, very friendly staff and central location BUT bedrooms on street side get noise from the street - shouting and laughing people going to and coming from clubs until 5am in the morning and motor cycles etc. Also only Venetian blinds on the windows which look nice but allow most light in so from 6am the room so bright. So a terrible night sleep which is the basic purpose of a hotel. Staff were sorry about it and said blinds will be installed but take care unless you can sleep with noise and light.

Decor and atmosphere top class. We got an upgrade to a superior room and it was superb- we didn’t want to leave! Every design detail was covered from spa treatments to bar fittings. The staff were friendly and professional and couldn’t help enough. We travelled to attend a concert in Antwerp and the Hotel made our experience fantastic.

I stay for 2 nights at this hotel.|I have not problem with the hotel or the staff, actually i think is a beautiful hotel.|but if you like to sleep at night oh dear, extremely tiny noisy road, where you hear everything, drunkers shouting, cleaning trunks passing all the time...|2 nights and I did not sleep at all.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend in one of the Julien Experience Rooms. We like a minimalist yet good design style, so this hotel was what we prefer. The living room, the bar and a small courtyard are very nice and a place to relax. The hotel is quite small and cozy, and it is tucked away in a side street, so it feels a bit like home. The photos on the website are true to what you can expect. The service was great. We arrived early and were able to have a chacuterie at one o'clock. We were given a list of well selected places to visit. The restaurant recommendation was booked for us. We stayed late the last day and our luggage was taken care of. The breakfast was not huge, but very good, and things are prepared to order if you want. Overall, we liked the professional yet personal and friendly style in a small hotel. Our hotel room overlooked one of the small courtyards, so it was not very bright. This is good for the summer, but when it is not hot, I might look for a room with windows to the street, as the street is rather quiet. We would definitely come back.

The hotel is beautifully renovated keeping traditional character and blending it with modernity. The staff is friendly and attentive and the shared public spaces are cozy and romantic. I recommend this hotel when staying in Antwerp. It is a quiet place to stay in the center of Antwerp. It feels luxurious and I would definitely stay again.

Positives: Clean, modern and aesthetic hotel set in a beautiful building. My room was in the roof space but felt large, comfortable and spacious, with plenty of daylight. Location was within walking distance of the city centre, bars and restaurants, and a 20 minute walk to the main train station. Young female staff (sorry I didn’t catch names) were very helpful in finding a local gym for me. Negatives: I found the room did not have enough electricity plugs - I expect most modern hotels of this standard to have USB plug ports beside the bed. I could also hear the comings and goings of neighbouring hotel rooms on my floor.

A little gem of a boutique hotel. With just a few rooms, it is elegantly designed and spreads a very cozy, welcoming and warm atmosphere. Lovely patio, little bar and great lounge with delicious breakfast and good rooms. Downstairs is a spa with a sauna and a steam bath.

Yelp
Terrible management. They don't respect the clients. I have stayed in boutique hotels all over the world and it means that you have to get great and more sophisticated service. This hotel manager needs to be fired immediately since she allows herself unacceptable behavior. I also observed that they put old food from leftovers during breakfast service. This was repulsive and unsanitary. Stay away from it!

Yelp
One of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels in the world. Perfect location and friendly service. The decor is a little rustic, so that may not appeal to everyone.
