Hotel Kaoba

The location for El Kaoba hotel is ideal, right in the heart of Cabarete. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The staff were very friendly but we had major issues with getting even the most basic of facilities. We had booked through Booking.com 2 rooms for 2 people each, and El Kaoba told us a day before we were set to arrive that they could not honor our confirmed reservation but they would give us a quadruple room with 4 beds. Not ideal but we didn't have much choice so we took it. When we arrived, they actually gave us a triple room with three beds (a double and a single). This meant our daughter had to sleep on the floor. They kept telling us they'd get a bed but it took 2 days to actually get one (a new staff member showed up who seemed to understand that it was unacceptable for our daughter to be sleeping on the floor). It took a day to get at the very least an extra pillow and comforter. They didn't have extra towels when I asked for some new ones after being there a few days. Towards the end of our week long stay, we ran out of soap so I asked for another bar and they said they didn't have any and we'd have to go buy it at the pharmacy next door. Not sure if there were language difficulties or they really just do not understand the basics of hotel management, but the service left a lot to be desired. That being said, the location is great, there is a decent restaurant on site, and there are nice areas to hang out. And it is a great value.

the front desk people were a mess, not very professional and it seemed like they dont even know what they were doing. the hotel looked nice and clean though… also me and my friend booked a 3 beds room and just because they put us on a first floor, they wanted to charge us $110 extra at check out (mind you, the person that checked us in told us when we were already in the room!!!! that it would be an extra $10) but anyways i had a good time with my friends because the area is great. might give it a chance.

Great quiet spot while still being super close to the action. The staff were all helpful and went above and beyond. Clean rooms with AC and hot water. Ended up returning for a second stay.

The rooms reeked of mold and stale cigarette smoke. When I complained to employee Mairon—who smelled strongly of vodka—and requested a room change, he was extremely rude, claiming everything was booked and I’d just have to deal with it. Strongly do not recommend. Plenty of better options nearby.

The people were so kind, welcoming and accommodating to our very large group which to me makes a hotel special! The location was in the middle of everything (including the beach) and felt very safe. Although we didn’t use the pool due to our schedule, the area is beautiful, breakfast is included (if you paid for that part) and a restaurant is attached so very convenient for us. I can’t wait to come back to Cabarete and stay here (not on a work trip) and enjoy the town more. Also, I already miss the hotel kitty, Mimi. She is the sweetest thing!

This is a premium hotel with awsome service! The pool is to die for. Best in cabarete 10/10 for sure. Beach is 30 seconds walk

Very pleasant atmosphere, very quiet. Rooms were clean, great guest service, Josie and Watson in the reception were very friendly and professional. The new ownership did a lot of upgrading. Great location in the center of Cabarete, beach right across the street. Great experience - will definitely return. - RA
