Conveniently located right off of Route 1 and close to Vik, this is a great hotel for its location! It is about 5-10 minutes driving up the road from Vik, but we did not mind that at all. We were able to easily head into Vik for dinner and to explore, and the hotel itself was quiet since it was down the road aways. We could see the ocean from the hotel across Route 1 which was really cool. The campus is quite large, and it’s comprised on many different buildings. It felt less “home-y” than our other smaller hotel stays in Iceland, but each individual building seemed to have its own living room space for gathering, which helped to make each spot seem a bit more comfortable and inviting. We did not dine on-site, but there was a restaurant and bar in the main building. The room itself was clean and large. However, the temperature was quite rough. It was super hot in the room, and we could not open the windows due to heavy rain. It made for quite an uncomfortable sleep - it might be good to include small fans for guests (other hotels have had this).

Great view from our room and pretty sunset. That’s the good. The bad- Hotel staff was not particularly friendly. Asked for an iron and board.. couldn’t get an ironing board so no way to iron.bizarre. Furniture looks like it’s from ikea. A bit disappointed for the price. The other Kea hotel I stayed in was much nicer and similar cost. No aurora wake up calls. Bathroom shower is not great.. very low.. came up to my bf chest. Barely any room amenities just soap and tissues . One type of soap for hair and body. No fridge or safe. Bed is comfortable.

We enjoyed one night at this hotel while traveling the south of Iceland. We saw the Northern Lights very well, as the hotel is located at little bit East of town and away from all of the Vik light pollution. Loved the automatic doors and the way they opened before ya get to them and the hotel breakfast was very tasty.

We liked this hotel. There are several buildings with rooms. The check-in process was seamless. We got a newer room with beautiful decor (other than the wall behind the bed… needs a paint job). The breakfast was amazing, with many options. This is a tour bus place, so it makes sense. Loads of parking. Negatives: The loud slamming of the exterior door from everyone coming into the building (a real bother). No fridge.

The hotel was located outside the town, which was about 7 minutes' drive. There was a restaurant offering buffet breakfast and dinner. The place was great since it was very spacious and the variety was relatively wide. The rooms were in a few individual buildings. The setting inside the room was very convenient for guests, such as electricity sockets and bench for opening the luggages. The ceiling was high and the window was wide. Like other hotels in the country, there was only a glass wall covering half of the showering area. Water would certainly go out from the area. The lamps on the head board were also a mistake in my opinion. They would hurt the back or the head of the visitors. If the installation position was higher, it be better.

Extensive breakfast buffet included which is great considering how expensive dining in iceland is. Dinner buffet also dad a large variety. We ordered off the menu the second night which was very good and reasonable by Iceland costs. Nice hot tub also. Nice location for sightseeing southern Iceland.

The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Wilde choice of food for breakfast. We had a lovely relaxing time in the hottub.

Our room was very clean with a view on the water and the mountains. One of the best hotel we stayed at during our trip. The breakfast was also delicious with many options, especially the waffle!
