Hótel Kea by Keahotels

Had a very nice stay at this lovely hotel in Akureyri. Great location being very close to shops, restaurants and harbour.||We arrived early but could check-in early as our room was ready which was very much appreciated. ||All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful.||Our room was on the 4th floor with a lovely view across to the shops, restaurants and Christmas lights.||The hotel is situated at the base of the church steps which you can climb and get great views from the top , also a nice walk further on to the botanical gardens.||We hope to return to Akureyri soon and would definitely stay at this lovely hotel again.

This was a really wonderful hotel. Perfect location in the centre of Akureyri. Fantastic customer service and I was lucky enough to spot a former Eurovision Song Contest participant from Iceland, staying in the same hotel as I was. That was a real highlight! Haha :D

Perfect hotel for our visit to Akureyri. No Skyr at breakfast 😭 but they have gluten free bread and scrambled eggs, bacon and beans. Room was comfy and quiet. Staff were pleasant. The lobby bar has good beer options and Happy Hour.

Our 3rd stay in this centrally located hotel. It has good vibes, the staff at the reception is professional and very helpful. Our room, an accessible room, is great as being large, good sized bathroom and quiet, but not much of a view. The room is well appointed with good bedding and linens, good sized bathroom, for a mobility challenged person it's very important. The restaurant serves great food, both locals and tourists can be found there, wherever locals go, the food must be good. If, resp. whencwe return to Iceland and our travel brings us to Akureyri we definitely will stay again at Hotel Kea

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, which suited our tastes perfectly. This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

So enjoyed staying here. When we arrived the room wasn't ready (even though it was an hour past check-in), but the staff were really apologetic (it was a busy time in the town). No problem, as the hotel is so perfectly located centrally we went out for a look around and a coffee. Once in, the room it self was really lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and there are several great restaurants within a short walking distance. Would highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

If you have another option, take it. A very tired hotel that is in need of updating. The shower is awful, mold stains in tile and the temperature does not stay constant. It can easily burn you if you are not careful. The balcony is not worth it. It has a large metal grate that obstructs the view and challenging to step out on. In contrast, breakfast was probably average, and the bed was comfortable. This

We didn't stay in the hotel but went to the restaurant. The food was excellent, very well presented and imaginatively cooked. The arctic char is a must for fish lovers.
