Hotel Khang Residency

I had a wonderful stay at Khang Residency. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a high level of comfort after a day of exploring. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Thimphu city center, making it easy to visit restaurants, shops, and key attractions. Despite being close to the heart of the city, the area around the hotel is quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The staff were also friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend Khang Residency to anyone visiting Thimphu.

Very clean rooms with every amenity you might need. My very spacious room had heated radiant floors, a dining table, kitchen, fridge and a huge king sized bed. I think some of the rooms come with balconies too. Added bonus is the proprietor, Chimme, a very gracious and warm host. Breakfast was excellent, omelets to order, nice whole grain breads, teas, coffees, yogurt, cereal and a variety of fruits. The hotel is not in the center of town, but a taxi ride to the heart of downtown is only about a $2 cab ride.

I visited Bhutan for a conference at the Centre for Bhutan and GNH Studies, Zhichenkar, Thimphu and took my mother along, as she always wished to visit Bhutan. We were put up at the Khang Residency, with its well-appointed location; beautiful and comfortable rooms with fantastic views over the city; wonderful food and service; and most of all, it's very welcoming staff. Mrs. Chime la is am impeccable host and also helped us with further booking in Bumthang. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, and we hope to visit again, too!

Excellent hotel, great in-room facilities, the best were heated floors, towel racks, a nice tub bath, big room, comfortable.|The only disadvantage is that it has very average views - some mountains but there is a lot which is used for maintenance and repairs outside. Another thing was that we visited in March when the hotel was not occupied so there meals were a la carte and limited at that.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms. I had a corner room on the 4th floor which had a balcony with a great view of the temple nearby and the entire Thimphu valley. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and best part, the floors were heated.||The food at the hotel wasn't very good. Breakfast options were super limited, especially if you're vegan or vegetarian.||The in-room safes across the hotel are not working, and the sauna and steam room are also out of service. There is a lot of construction around the hotel.||Overall the hotel is in a nice quiet location a 15 minute walk uphill from the center of Thimphu. For the price it's a great hotel and I'd stay there again. But would love if they fixed the sauna and steam and the in-room safes so I don't have to carry all my valuables around with me everday.

Very nice hotel. The room was big with good classic furniture. The bathtub was a pleasant surprise. Balcony had a great view over the valley.|Service was very friendly and attentive.|The food was also really good!

The place is great with good amenities like kitchen, garden area, bonfire etc. The rooms have all the required facilities and I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for hosting us and the service was amazing.

My family and I had a lovely experience at Khang Residency . The hotel room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities. The service from the receptionist and server was top notch as well. The hotel’s location was great! It’s a 5 minute walk from the Changangkha Lhakhang and the main town. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Thimphu :)
