Hotel Knyaz Boris I

Good sleep for the price but don’t expect anything more. Building and interior not being updated for years. Old beds and sheets, no A/C and the room had an unpleasant smell. Also you cannot leave the hotel with the key so you leave your stuff free for someone to go into the room. Didn’t feel safe. Wouldn’t go again.

Simple, nice and clean. Easy to reach by foot or public transportation.

Very old furniture, bathroom has a bad smell, they do not want to have babies and children and they were very rude when we came with children, but there is no such remark on the booking page. Door of the room cannot be locked proprely, windows cannot be closed, bed was broken. The worse hotel I have visited in my life.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It was around 3rd time I stayed here. Some things didn't change. Room was clean. Toilet too but could be improved. Since it was an attic room you have to wait for the hot water for some time (that is something I experienced before). Reception lady was nice and welcoming. Some are not so nice. They only accept cash payments and it is possible to upgrade room for an extra fee. Bed is not bad, small though. For me the pillow is what is lacking quality. It is next to a busy boulevard which means that you will hear traffic. Location is within walking distance to the center and both train and bus station. It gives me the creeps to walk around during night. The prices are cheep though. So what you pay is what you get.

Not far (10 minutes walk) from train and bus station. The hotel is basic. We stayed in a loft room forth floor no lift. No smoke alarm and no fire extinguisher on our floor. No extracter fan in bathroom and curtains didn't fully cover window in bedroom. Wire coming from light, no wardrobe, no plug for sink, only two towels, one hand one bath. What we had was not what we expected!

The hotel is within easy walking distance to many of Sofia's tourist attractions. There is a market behind the hotel and 2 supermarkets very close. Shower was hot although water takes a long time to get away so floods. Large room and hotel has been refurbished Down side there is a sex shop next door and is on a busy road but there is also good access to transport. Not fancy. I enjoyed being able to walk to the sights

The staff is really nice, somebody is at the reception 24 hours.||The hotel is old but well maintained. However the smoke smell in the room was disturbing.||The room was clean, with an old-fashion style that you can find only in Eastern Europe.||The bathroom is not really practical: the shower is actually the bathroom itself! So you cannot not spread water everywhere...||However this is a good hotel regarding its price. The location is very good, very close to the metro and walking distance to the city centre.||The breakfast is terrible, I do not recommend it!

the photo of the room when we booking does not correspond to the actual appearance. the room is in very bad condition, the bed looks like it was taken from a dump. there is a wire above it. we did not get toilet paper. a huge fly in the room. the other room had a torn bed.||we had to pay extra for a better room, which is "deluxe" because it has a TV (25 years old, with a bad picture, and an antenna that is actually a coiled cable). we got half toilet paper, which was wet and unusable.
