Hôtel Koh-I Nor by Les Etincelles

I have been coming to Koh-I-Nor for many years, and this year has been the best so far. Everything was absolutely wonderful. From the warm welcome at check-in, to the thoughtfulness of the reception team who remembered an injury I had during a previous stay and took the time to ask how my year had been, every detail truly stood out. The spa team went above and beyond to make our stay so special for me and my family, and I cannot thank them enough. Their kindness, warm smiles, and exceptional professionalism did not go unnoticed and made our experience incredibly memorable. Throughout our stay, everything was flawless. The transfer team was always available whenever we needed them, and all the staff — from the bar, reception, and restaurant — were consistently smiling, attentive, and eager to help, making our family stay absolutely perfect, which it truly was. The hotel has also undergone a few upgrades, which made a noticeable difference and further enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this hotel and can confidently say that I will be returning next year with my entire family.

We had a wonderful stay at the Koh-I Nor hotel. By far the best hotel experience we’ve had ever. It’s the combination of Val Thorens, the service given by the staff and the weather. The breakfast is just exactly what you need before taking off to the slopes. Skiing out from the ski shop/room is great and the ski shop staff will take care of your equipment even if you didn’t rent it from the hotel. We had dinner at one of the 2 hotel’s restaurants and the kitchen was able to adapt the meals to our needs. The hotel is very cozy and stylish and we enjoyed just seating in the Lobby bar having a Genepi after dinner. The spa has everything you need to relax after skiing. The hotel has all the little details that will make your stay just perfect. It even offers a shuttle service to go to wherever in the village and back if you don’t feel like walking. Once again, the staff was amazing and made sure that stay was pleasant. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

We had an incredible stay at Koh I Nor and highly recommend to others. From the second we stepped near the property someone grabbed my bags to take them the rest of the way (shoutout Robin) and the excellent service continued from there. The lobby is cozy and aesthetic and the views phenomenal. Skiing was made extremely convenient by not only the ski in ski out but because staff held skis in a locker for you right next to the slopes and placed outside when you are ready. Breakfast was included and fabulous. One thing to note is compared to other hotels in the area KIN is a bit further up (though still walkable) but they have a free shuttle service that was very easy and convenient. Only note for improvement would be to increase the heat on the jacuzzi, found it to be lukewarm at best (and it’s indoors unfortunately)

We arrived late just after midnight and were greeted by night staff who provided us with room service after midnight. We had a great room for three people with wonderful view and balcony. Every day we shuttled around for my daughter’s ski lessons until she could ski out. The bar and terrace had a great apres ski environment. The hotel was located close to alot of bars and restaurants. The reception were lovely and printed business documents. We would definitely return.

This really is a lovely hotel. The rooms are the most comfortable I’ve stayed in and the staff were all very friendly. There was everything you could eat at breakfast and it was fantastic. However, dinner in the evening was disappointing. The hotel had the same al la carte menu every day. It should be changed every day, on a week to week basis, to give some variety. ||The Spa was a really good way to chill and relax after a hard days skiing. The steam room, jacuzzi, pool and sauna were a great tonic. ||Another great touch by the hotel is the use of the shuttle bus. If we were in the town centre, and were too lazy to walk back, the hotel arranged for us to be collected. Great service.||I also have to mention the English guy in the ski room. Every morning without fail, our skis were unpacked and waiting for us outside! Never had that quality of service before.||Only thing that has irritated me, on check in, i had to give a card, as they had to have something ‘pending’. 800 euros came out of my account immediately and when I asked reception, I was told it would be returned to me 2 days after check out. Well today is the third day and I have still to receive it. I have just called the hotel, who advised that it could take a further week. This isn’t really acceptable, so have knocked off 1 star for this.

What an amazing hotel. ||From the location, to the staff, to the facilities. ||From the first day of our arrival we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much to ask. ||The spa was everything you can expect from a 5* hotel, everything was working, the sauna and steam room were hot, and the indoor pool has the most beautiful view of the mountain. ||I can’t wait to return.

The hotel took my new skis on arrival and then lost them. They claim that by accident someone else took them to ski….but since boot and specific leki pole fittings make that unlikely this feels like covering up. They now claim to have found the skis and will send them to me. When I asked who had taken my skis and pointed out that there was cctv they said that they could not see the cctv or it was not working. The management was polite and the hotel itself is good. However, losing several thousand of kit and hiding what happened makes them seem poorly managed. I have stayed here quite a bit and in other 5* hotels in the three valleys. The response so far was essentially “sorry but your problem” Update: 5 days later and the hotel has still not returned my skis. They found them but have not sent them to me.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this hotel in France! The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable—truly a perfect retreat after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was top-class, with a wide selection of delicious options to fuel us for the day ahead. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The ski-in, ski-out access was a total game-changer, making our time on the mountain so seamless and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back for another unforgettable stay!

Great hotel and Val Thorens best terrace to relax with a spectacular mountain view. Lovely staff and excellent food/drinks in their various restaurants.
