3.75/5|We originally intended to stay one night, but ended up needing to stay another due to a cancelled ferry, so we got to experience 2 room types. Overall for both rooms, the hotel was easy to walk to from the port, the beds themselves were comfortable, the staff was very helpful and nice (helping to call to our next destination and look at ferries and rebook us when we needed), and included breakfast was good. But there’s a big variation in room experience! The staff did mention an upgrade/reno was happening soon, so maybe some of the issues we had will get resolved.||I think we may have gotten upgraded for the first night, but we had a side room/living area and an overall bigger room on the end of a building with a skylight. This 1st room was great and spacious, the only downside being the shower, which had low pressure and difficult controls. ||In our second room, which actually cost more overall (possibly because it was a Friday night vs a Thursday?), we had a very cramped room that looked like it could use a refresh; many scrapes on the wall, some small sheet stains, and no living zone. The shower in this room was also extremely finicky to control and hard to enter due to it being in a corner, and the toilet seemed to be malfunctioning (seemed to randomly flush). The only real plus to this room was a seaside view, which was nice, though we couldn’t keep our window open too long due to smokers below and the window did mean noise from below in the early am.||I’d recommend springing for the larger room after this experience! And also do remember there is no elevator (though staff will help with luggage).
