The rooms had an amazing view, and breakfast was good. We also had dinner there twice and it was actually quite good — especially considering how hard it is to find good food in Iceland. The staff was great and everything was very clean. They’re definitely missing a jacuzzi… that would make it a top-tier hotel.

Once inside, a lovely hotel with great staff, a good bar and excellent dinner options. Book a room with a mountain view; quiet and good viewing and ideal for seeing the auroras. The hotel fronts the main ring road and, sadly for the hotel, there's a lot of development on the other side of the road which interferes with the view. There is a good bar with cocktails for pre dinner. Dinner is excellent, with great service. The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful and go way beyond. Easy walking access to the town and beach and a short drive to many other sites. If travelling in winter download the Safe Travel app to keep an eye on the roads... the mountain pass does close!!

There are no words to describe this hotel. One of the coziest, most comfortable, and welcoming places I’ve ever stayed. Check-in and check-out were incredibly smooth. The room was beautiful and very well designed. Breakfast is served against a breathtaking backdrop — truly one of a kind. It could have had a bit more variety, but everything offered was delicious, including the coffee! The playroom is such a fantastic idea — both fun and thoughtful! The location was ideal, and the on-site parking was a great convenience. 🫶🏻

A modern looking hotel located at the side of the highway (N1). This mindset and operation of the Hotel Kria is geared around a travellers hotel and not one built around guests enjoying and relaxing in the hotel. Obviously stays are normally 1 or 2 night and the whole ethos of the hotel is structured around this. Examples are the breakfasts and dinners are aimed at speed and not service. The dinner menu is very limited, with no child menu and very little choice. The breakfast is functional at best, with guests expected to get their own napkins, cutlery, condiments and obviously food. The table cleaning (to release tables) is incredibly slow at breakfast, with empty plates and cups on many tables. The hotel isn't welcoming, with signs up about charging you if you take food from the buffet out. There is nothing wrong with this, but why not add the word 'please' to the numerous signs around the hotel about drinks in the games room and the breakfast area mentioned earlier. Of course, the weather at in the area can be challenging in the winter. So why does the hotel not have an area where cars and buses can pull up in front of the main entrance? . This is crazy that you have to park about a 100 yds away and cart you things ( sometimes in bad weather) from the car park to the entrance, The main entrance lane to the lobby is blocked off. This makes absolute no sense at all. Aesthetically the hotel looks nice and the room are good. If you are look for a comfortable room and quick meal and bed, then this is an on hotel, If you are looking for a more refined and enjoyable stay in a hotel, then our experience is that it isn't.

Exceptional hotel. And Vik was our second destination but it remains our favourite. Truly charming little town with such a buzzing athomsphere. I would recommed this hotel to anyone who wants to experience authenticity but wants to be catered to. 10/10, if we ever come again I will choose this place again. Hungarian waiter deserves a raise.

Location, location, location! There are plenty of hotels in the area, but the unbeatable proximity to the black sand beach makes this one stand out. You can walk there in less than 30 minutes, which is a huge plus for visitors who want to enjoy the coast without the hassle of driving or parking. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Between the view, the service, and the convenience, this hotel really delivers. Highly recommend staying here!

The hotel is absolutely lovely. From the Bar to the pool room and the restaurant, I have read that the restaurant is pretty expensive but comparing to other places in Vik it is pretty much the same price. We had a fabulous meal and drinks at the happy hour prices (from 4pm-7pm). The staff and excellent and so friendly, TOMAS AND ESTER in the restaurant were first class in every way. We will definitely return to this lovely hotel and enjoy all it has to offer.

Hotel staff was hospitable, rooms were very clean. The restaurant was great with specialty drinks. Beautiful views when weather permits. I’d give it a five had I not witnessed a worker kicking a cat to remove it from the adjacent hotel when leaving in the morning and seeing the poor cat and its companion limping and crying helplessly.
