Hotel Krone Thun

Who invented this stupid thing and then had it used as a luggage rack by this hotel? It's at the height of a door handle. I hope everyone knows that not everyone who stays at a hotel is a tall, strong adult male. As a result, EVERYTHING in my suitcase unfortunately fell onto the floor. Furthermore, the area around the hotel is very noisy, and I can hear loud music coming from either a bar or an event.

We had a really nice stay, lovely reception staff, friendly and attentive. Great breakfast. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Cleaning staff were helpful and friendly. Great central location.

Stayed here for 3 days and would recommend to friends.|The room was newly renovated, ample space and lots of extra amenities. We had the top room and received help with bringing up the luggage. |Helpful staff, cordial and professional.|Location is perfect.

If you are looking for a great hotel in Thun this is the place to go. Just under 10 minutes from the train station in the center of Thun. We were greater very friendly by the very helpful staff. They had upgraded our room upon arrival with a great view over the river. The hotel has multiple restaurants, we ate in the Grill restaurant which was great. Breakfast had a lot of choice. Hotel overall is neat and clean. Would stay here again if ever visiting Thun in the future.

Beautiful Hotel in the best location, close to the river, and activities and in the old town. Service was very good. Was treated to a drink at the bar across the hotel. Breakfast was ok. Continental breakfast, could not see if they did fried eggs. Honeymoon suite was wonderful and big but aircon did not work. They were kind enough to upgrade my teenage sons rom so his room could be close to us.

A very attractive hotel in a scenic and central part of the old town. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the train station and near a good number of restaurants. It has A/C, which unfortunately is now more needed than before. Thun itself has an attractive location. Choosing a hotel in the Jungfrau region involves a number of tradeoffs. Many people choose Interlaken. It’s probably got the best location and travel connections but be aware that it’s jam packed with tourists and tour groups. Grindlewald is jam packed with day trippers. If you’re going to stay in that immediate area I would say that Lauterbrunnen is more attractive and calmer. Wengen is a beautiful village but be aware that if you have luggage you’ll be hauling it over multiple connections. We’ve stayed in Thun twice and enjoy it. The downside is that you’re spending more time to get into the mountains but the upside it’s a real city with ample amenities and not overrun by hoards of tourists.

Great location. Our room had the most beautiful view of the river . Very stylish interior . The staff was extra helpful and extremely helpful . Can't wait to be back in winter . 6/6/24

The Hotel Krone was simply fantastic. We drove from Zurich to Thun and only had one night to stay at this fabulous hotel. It is directly on the water front, shops, restaurants, and cafes are all at your fingertips... it's a matter of choosing what you want to do, where you want to eat, or grab a drink. It is also located right next to the famous castle of Thun which we could see from our bedroom window. It was pricey but it was a splurge for our family. The service was amazing, the location superb. We were able to park behind the hotel even though the parking lot was full, otherwise we would have had to take our car to the public lot several blocks away. Farmer's Market greeted us in the center square as we checked out. This was a wonderful surprise as we were able to get fresh flowers, cheeses, produce, etc. for our continuing trip to Beatenberg. Yes it is expensive, but it was worth it. Delightful breakfast is included with your stay and given how expensive everything is in Switzerland, the meal would cost approx 70fr. for 4. It makes me feel like we got a deal. : )
