This was our 2nd hotel on our trip in Switzerland. |To be completely fair if the weather had not been so hot and some other factors had not happened our stay might had been different. |However! Arrived at the hotel to a building site at the side of the hotel, diggers and massive machinery doing major road and path works. The hotel is on a very busy car park with a large church, also a few little bars as well. I had seen other reviews about the noise and how the hotel supplies ear plugs, but we weren’t expecting this level of noise.|First impression were not great. Room was basic, boring and old fashioned, with vinyl flooring not wooden as described. No kettle or coffee facilities in room and nowhere to make one. When I spoke to the receptionist and said I wasn’t happy about this, she did manage to sort me a kettle, but I had to get cups, spoons from the dining room and buy the stuff I needed to make a coffee. |It was 35c when I was here and the hotel is like an oven. No air con anywhere and staff were sweating so bad and you could see them struggling. Our room was at the front overlooking the carpark/ outdoors restaurant area and church. we couldn't even open our windows late at night when everyone had left the restaurant because the church (dongs) every hour on the hour, it was like the bell was in our room. The Dyson fan in our room had been used that much it was blowing out warm air and pointless. The hotel needs a massive refurbish get rid of the strained carpets and old decor. Creepy 2 person glass lift and very old fashion dining room. The ground floor bar restaurant was nice, and was full with locals. The local school graduation was held the night we stayed so around 60-80 teenagers with their parents were there outside the hotel waiting to go in and then in the main function room of the hotel so you can imagine the noise. |Dint sleep most the night from the heat and noise, lots of guests were going outside for fresh air until the early hours. This was when we noticed a sign on the closed reception saying something like (reception closed, will open at 6.30am) so I think only the guests were in the building, the reception was all locked up and I dint see any security or staff all night, I have never seen this before in any hotel were they lock up and leave.| In the morning the poor receptionist got an ear full from most the guests. Then to make the morning for everyone even worse the road works started digging around 7am. we went for breakfast which was ok, again no aircon anywhere. By 8am we left. |Just one thing after another, was it just a bad experience for us?!?!?

THE HOTEL IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED , HAVING LOT OF POSITIVE VIBES , I STAYED HERE FOR 11 DAYS AND FEELING SO CLOSE TO IT ALWAYS . BREAKFAST WAS OK TOO .|Direct view to Munot fort and ringing bell at 9:00 pm daily is simply mesmerizing ||APPRECITED JULICA at reception & MIYUKA DURING BREAKFAST FOR HELPING & FOR THEIR SMILE .

We loved this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we had a terrific view of Munot. The town is absolutely charming and we enjoyed walking around everywhere — including to the Munot and the falls (about a 45-minute walk). The only negative point was that the bathroom door (a sliding door) did not close all the way and there was a bit of a crack so it was hard to be a bit discrete! We will stay here again when we return.

The hotel is located about a 10 minuet walk from the train station through the pretty town. The area is quiet ,There is a car park to the front and the church next door that seems to have quiet bells.Rooms at the font have a nice view of the Munot ( Fort ) and across the old town. There was no shortage of staff all very friendly and professional. Breakfast was fairly good with cold meats & cheeses etc. The bread was very nice and they had a good variety. The room I had 302 was at the front and fairly spacious with good light. There was no noise from outside and it was warm & comfortable. The only downside I could find was the noise from the bathroom in the room next door. I think the bathrooms were an addition in an old hotel and they didn't put enough soundproofing in so you can hear what is going on in the bathroom.| The restaurant is very good and the food tasty.Service was also good and in the bar too. I would defiantly recommend a stay at this hotel in a lovely town

We stayed a night after visiting Technorama with our 11 year old 2 weeks ago. We took a beautiful antique decorated suite and it came with a kitchen to our surprise. Huge room, very comfortable bed, and even provided us earplugs. Breakfast spread was fantastic even for us being vegetarian. Couldn't make use of the sauna as their opening time was rather short. The restaurant on ground floor was also highly recommended with great service staff.

This hotel was booked for us by our bike tour company. We had one of the larger rooms with a step down to a living room. However, there was no air conditioning. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and welcoming. There is a nice restaurant outside but not very appealing as it looks onto a parking lot.

We stayed here in October 2023. This hotel really impressed me! It is now my favorite hotel in Switzerland. Fantastic location, nice included breakfast, comfortable beds, well designed room, quiet. There was even a universal plug adapter in the bathroom! I loved the included spa as well. That was a very welcome surprise. There is a dry sauna, wet sauna and another one. The only headache was parking. I used an app to pay for it and it turned out not to be that much money. The hotel will sell you a voucher for a couple of CHF that lets you park right in front until 11:00 am. The staff is great, very knowledgeable and helpful. The temperature was comfortable so no need for AC. I have been in Switzerland when it is hot so I can imagine it may not be too comfortable in this hotel during a heat wave. Maybe the hotel has fans to give out.

Overall quite a good hotel, with a great location, however, the rooms could have been much better. There was no air conditioning despite it being 30-35 ⁰C, the bathrooms could be better. The breakfast is good with a verity of choice. A good choice to be close to the centre but definitely not in the summer.

Yelp
The Kronenhof is a business hotel in a central location in Schaffhausen. The hotel is easy to get to from the train station and if you are in Schaffhausen the location is good. Friendly personnel and everyone spoke English well enough. The room I had was on the top floor with a nice balcony with a view of the church and the Munot fortress. Other than the balcony the room was fairly standard with a nice big bed, mini-bar, free wifi (did not work all the time) and LCD-TV. What I did miss was coffee/tea making facilities as well as an iron and ironing board (there is an ironing room in the hotel but quality of it was awful -over 10 minutes to get any type of heat and not great even after that long wait). Bathroom was ok but the water in the shower varied greatly in heat and pressure. There is also no fitness centre/gym which is a major drawback. The breakfast was huge disappointment. No hot food (except for barely boiled eggs), awful selection of other things and coffee almost undrinkable. Still looking at the options in Schaffhausen it is still not that bad.

Yelp
On the our first visit there had to send the steak back three times because it wasnt cooked well done as ordered. Second visit the same problem. But this time they got it right on the second try. third visit. changed the order figured forget steak from them. Seen crispy pork belly and ribs. Sounds nice right? wrong. There was ribs with no bones??. Just a piece of beef. Pork belly looked like a piece of jelly. sent it back again. and came back missing the beef just the pork belly still looking like a piece of jelly:( no refund never asked if was ok. to bad it could be a good place if they weren't afriad to actually cook the food. sorry but there will not be a fourth visit

Yelp
We ate at the restaurant (stayed at a different hotel). Service was worse than most places we visited in Switzerland. I had a salad - it was fun with nice ingredients; however, it was completely ruined because it was swimming in salad dressing. Enough dressing that there was a pool at the bottom of the dish. It ruined a perfectly good salad.
