Hotel Kungsträdgården, a Design Boutique Hotel Stockholm, Sweden

"Opened in January 2015, Hotel Kungsträdgården is housed in a fully-renovated 18th century building in central Stockholm. Situated next to the King’s garden, the financial and shopping districts are also within walking distance. The Stockholm Central Station is 1 km away. Dressed in Gustavian style, each individually decorated room offers old-world charm in the midst of a modern city. Free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and a minibar come standard in the rooms. Extras include a desk and a laptop safe. At Hotel Kungsträdgården you will find a restaurant, 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Many city attractions are easily accessible by public transportation. The hotel is 1.1 km from Stockholm City Hall, while the Royal Palace and the Old Town are only a 10-minutes’ walk away. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is 42 km away." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

The hotel is very centrally located, which is convenient. Staff are friendly, breakfast is varied and offers good quality. The rooms had excellent beds. The rooms only have a "top down" cooling but we were assured that the building was properly isolated and this turned out to be true (outside temp was around 30 degrees centigrade but room remained cool). The shower in our room was fine but the temperature regulation could be improved. Also, it would be great if the curtains could be made thicker as in summer, the sun rises early. It is a recommendable place to stay.

This was an excellent choice in every way. So comfortable and quiet for a great sleep. Outstanding staff. Breakfast complete with smoked salmon, meatballs etc etc etc. And wonderful pastries! The ambient setting is beautiful, as if one were dining outdoors. There are comfortable seating options outside the front door where one can relax and enjoy unlimited cappuccinos. The location is 1 minute subway stop from Stockholm Central Train but I preferred taking the T Central Tram/Bus minutes longer, which stops next door at King’s Garden Park, my favorite place to cool down with a cold beer while watching happy children play in the large shallow pool with water geysers a plenty. The old scenic town and the upscale shopping areas are just minutes away. A day trip using public ferries to Vaxholm can’t be beat. The deeply discounted senior 24 hr transportation pass (110 Kr) is a wonderful bargain. Truly a fantastic two days!

Friendly and helpful staff and excellently catered breakfast in a beautiful restaurant/bar. Initially placed in 2nd floor bedroom facing the atrium restaurant, which had sufficient lighting but it was rather hot and I was sensitive to the vague smell of cooking, so the staff accommodated my request for a move and I was placed on the 5th floor in a fantastic single bedroom. The showers and toiletries were perfect, and I appreciated having a chair with a backrest rather than a stool. Mattresses are rather soft, but that was the case at another Stockholm hotel too, so perhaps it’s the common way here. The design of the room was really well thought out eg minibar door had a higher mirror on the inside and that area also served for a small hanging wardrobe and lighting was pleasing too. I had a view of the rooftops (but not really of the city) and it was so peaceful. Very convenient location to the T-bana as well as a stroll to Gamla Stan, an easy 15 min walk (if you are fit for the street stairs) from the train station and to the ferries to the archipelago. We also walked to the City Hall easily enough. The complimentary tea was appreciated and as a Brit who likes a Yorkshire tea, their Breakfast tea was a hit. We used the Arlanda Express to arrive into the city but highly recommend the Airflix bus for a return to Arlanda - cheaper and still with air con and quiet. Boat trip Tip: We were glad we chose the local ferry line 83 to Vaxholm rather than the poorly reviewed/rated and expensive tourist boat ride to the island of Vaxon.

I just had an EXCELLENT 3-night stay at Hotel Kungsträdgården. My small double room, while small indeed, was perfect for 1 and had a nice view towards the garden. The bed was comfortable and the walk-in shower was perfect. The included breakfast was varied, delicious, and with conveniently extended hours. Plus, the atrium where the restaurant is located is just gorgeous! The staff was very nice. The concierge took the time to give me a run-down of Stockholm's highlights when I checked in, and the email received a couple of days ahead of time to offer concierge services (which I didn't need) is a really nice touch of luxury. Last but not least, the value for money was exceptional. Oh, and did I mention the perfect location? Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Hotel Kungstradgarden for four days and nights. I can recommend it heartily to anyone who wants a delightful stay in Stockholm. The hotel itself was pretty and centrally located; our room was quiet and very clean; the breakfasts and the one dinner we ate at the hotel restaurant were delicious; and the concierge staff was the absolute best. I loved the hotel and Stockholm, and I hope to see both again one day.

Fabulous stay here. I arrived to Stockholm super early and they got me a room right away! I couldn’t believe it. I was so thankful. The hotel is a gem. Perfectly located and just a beautiful place. Like most European hotels, the room was tiny. Bathroom was very clean and modern. Hotel is full of charm with comfy beds and the nicest staff. 5 stars all day long and can’t wait to come back.

Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in. We arrived early and our room was not ready so we left our cases at reception and went for a walk, when we got back our room was ready and our cases were already in the room. We booked a small double which was ample room for the 2 of us but the bathroom was amazing so big with everything you needed, big fluffy towels and toiletries. Great breakfast with lots of different options, the cinnamon buns were to die for. Kiki at reception was so helpful and always pleasant. Bar and lounge area was lovely, set out on different floors. The hotel is also close to everything, we walked all round Stockholm visiting attractions. If you are ever in Stockholm I would suggest staying at this hotel.

This is simply a lovely place to stay. There's a beautiful sauna, it's in a gorgeous part of Stockholm, the breakfast buffet is splendid, AND! they gave me a room first thing in the morning, which was a huge help in getting off to a good start. As a solo woman traveler, I felt safe, welcome, and well cared-for.
