This was a very quaint historic hotel. The breakfast was nice with seating in the dining room or outside on the patio. Very convenient location. Nice shops nearby. Beautiful place to walk around at night. Rooms were comfortable but a little dark.

Our room was large, quiet, clean, cool, the shower worked well, and breakfast was good. To me that's a good hotel stay. This was night two of our short Via Francigena walk. We had a second floor room overlooking the main street. The village is stunning. We spent some time in the city's museum and tower, and of course visited the main church. We were exhausted after the walk on a very hot day. Breakfast the next morning was good. We'd stay here again.

This is a great hotel! Location is excellent and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. Staff were most accommodation. The hotel has a beautiful interior patio with table and chairs, potted plants and lots of sun. I used it nearly every day we were there. Highly recommend.

The location of this hotel, right on the main walking street in San G is amazing. The hotel is charming with a good shower and bed, and it was quite. We had a regular room so it was small with no view. Instant coffee in the room only but the breakfast was great, with good coffee (cappuccino). The AC in our room didn't work well so it got hot, even though the hotel was cool. Getting out of parking when we left was a bit of a process. Little things, stay here for the location and San G was wow!

Lovely room albeit basic. Breakfast was good and lovely to sit outside on the terrace. Maybe tidy up this area a bit more though, it doesn’t take much effort. Great location in town, surrounded by shops and restaurants.

My husband and I enjoyed an unforgettable stay at Hotel L 'Antico Pozzo in early January. We can not say thank you enough to the owners ,Mariangela, Elisabetta ,& Emanuele , along with Massimo , the receptionist , & Ciria , the housekeeper . Their wonderful Italian hospitality made us feel welcome & well taken care of during our entire stay. The hotel's website has great information and photos. Hotel L' Antico Pozzo opened in September 1990 after the careful restorations & renovations of Palazzo Tamburini , a 15th century palace, were completed . After reading about the impressive history of the hotel & seeing the beautiful photos, I immediately emailed requesting a reservation . A prompt response gave me the good news that the Dante Room was available ! The Dante Room was even more beautiful than the photos ! It was spacious, tastefully decorated & furnished , with a gorgeous & comfortable bed .The bathroom shower was great too. Even with all the modern conveniences , the Dante Room had a aura of a bygone era . Thank you to Ciria for making sure everything was immaculate each day . We appreciated her doing such a wonderful job . We slept well and awakened to the heavenly aroma of pastries baking in the hotel kitchen. Freshly made each morning ,the pastries along with homemade cakes were scrumptious ! The dining room was very elegant with linen covered tables set with pretty china .In the past it was the palace's ballroom Sala Rosa . A variety of sweet & savory items including ; the luscious pastries & cakes, yogurt, fruit, cereal, organic cheeses, Tuscan meats, to mention some . Also omelettes and coffee could be made for you .Our cappuccino & caffe macchiato were prepared perfectly . Everything was fresh &delicious ! We definitely enjoyed a very relaxing meal and never were rushed . It was the perfect start to each day ! We appreciated how helpful Emanuele was the day we needed a ride to a wine tasting nearby. It was raining that morning, and it would have taken at least 20 minutes to walk to the winery . Emanuele kindly drove us there and also back to the hotel when we had finished . We really appreciated him being so kind. Also the hotel made arrangements for a driver to take us to Florence on our last morning . We appreciated this too . San Gimignano was especially enjoyable with out the crowds . We had a very short walk to the Duomo, Museums and restaurants & an a very nice one next door that we enjoyed twice . The 2 pizzerias were really good too. The daytime views of the countryside were breathtaking . We made sure to see the towers at night too , & what a spectacular sight ! This medieval town is simply magical ! We are very thankful for our unforgettable stay at Hotel L' Antico Pozzo ! Grazie mille to all the fantastic people there ! Peggy

Hotel L’Antico Pozzo was a lovely respite in San Gimignano. It is beautifully furnished hotel, quiet rooms, and I had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve found in Toscana!

Yelp
A lovely hotel located in the center of town and close to good restaurants. My room had orginal fresco's, was clean and decorated to preserve the character of the hotel. Even though my room faced the main street, it was very quiet. Breakfast included a variety of items, including eggs, several different kinds of cheese, meats, fresh tomatoes and three different kinds of sweets. WI-FI was FAST! Everyone working at the desk was very helpful and friendly. I loved staying there.

Yelp
We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel L'Antico Pozzo while visiting San Gimignano. Stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The room was nice, very clean and hotel location is fantastic. Emanuele and staff were gracious and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed here in the middle of our Italian adventure and it quickly became our favorite place. Located in the walls of San Gimignano it was perfectly located and charming. You can drive up to the door and unload luggage and then park your car just outside the wall, which is a quick 3-minute walk. Immediately we were in love. The entry room felt like someone's living room. It is so quaint and elegantly simple. We stayed in room 14 which was large with high ceilings, with old world decor and a modern bathroom. Our windows overlooked the main street so every morning we loved opening up our windows to hear the local shop keepers chatting in Italian. We felt like we were home in Italy. Taking breakfast in the outside terrace was a great way to start the day. We were given fabulous restaurant recommendations! It was lovely taking a nightly stroll down the cobblestone streets to dinner and stopping by the main square for an evening gelato. Very romantic little town. The most memorable thing about L'Antico Pozzo for us were the people. Emanuele and the whole staff were so warm and generous, like family. We even fell in love with the family dog, Lorde. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the building and seeing the original photos and just chatting. For us, folks like this are what Italy is all about. The hotel is a wonderful gem but the warmth of the people is what made it exceptional! Grazie! Give a kiss to Lorde for us.
