Hotel L 'Antico Pozzo

Well located in a quieter area of town. We selected this as it has a comfortable courtyard to enjoy a drink or read ||There is a well inside, hence the name.||All staff are friendly. ||The room is traditional, no frills and the bed is very comfortable. Sufficient power sockets. Quiet rooms and cool. ||Everywhere is clean. Shower pressure is good. Shower gel, shampoo and olive soap are provided and I have no comment on these as I use my own. Alas the hairdryer in the bathroom is functional at best, little power, short cord as attached to the wall. At least it is in front of the mirror.||The breakfast room has a lovely high ceiling with beams. Breakfast is average. There is a good selection of seeds, dried fruit plus a fresh fruit salad. There are the usual pasties and a limited bread choice. Juice is from concentrate and not my preference.

A comfortable hotel in a fantastic location. We really loved this town. While it gets busy with day trippers, it really quietens down with lots of beautiful restaurants to choose from. The team at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. We really recommend this place to stay

Our room was large, quiet, clean, cool, the shower worked well, and breakfast was good. To me that's a good hotel stay. This was night two of our short Via Francigena walk. We had a second floor room overlooking the main street. The village is stunning. We spent some time in the city's museum and tower, and of course visited the main church. We were exhausted after the walk on a very hot day. Breakfast the next morning was good. We'd stay here again.

This was a very quaint historic hotel. The breakfast was nice with seating in the dining room or outside on the patio. Very convenient location. Nice shops nearby. Beautiful place to walk around at night. Rooms were comfortable but a little dark.

Very pleasant inn located in an ancient building. The parts that need to be, are modernized, while the rooms have a very authentic feel. The breakfast was pleasant with a wide variety of options including eggs cooked to order and cappuccino with fresh fruit and whole grain bread alongside pastries. Conveniently located near Porta San Matteo for arrival and departure.

Really lovely, very clean, quiet, understated classy, simple hotel. Newly appointed bathrooms. Great service and staff. Nice beds. Great location in town.|Just a small simple hotel but everything done very well. Thank you.

This is a great hotel! Location is excellent and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. Staff were most accommodation. The hotel has a beautiful interior patio with table and chairs, potted plants and lots of sun. I used it nearly every day we were there. Highly recommend.

The location of this hotel, right on the main walking street in San G is amazing. The hotel is charming with a good shower and bed, and it was quite. We had a regular room so it was small with no view. Instant coffee in the room only but the breakfast was great, with good coffee (cappuccino). The AC in our room didn't work well so it got hot, even though the hotel was cool. Getting out of parking when we left was a bit of a process. Little things, stay here for the location and San G was wow!

A lovely hotel located in the center of town and close to good restaurants. My room had orginal fresco's, was clean and decorated to preserve the character of the hotel. Even though my room faced the main street, it was very quiet. Breakfast included a variety of items, including eggs, several different kinds of cheese, meats, fresh tomatoes and three different kinds of sweets. WI-FI was FAST! Everyone working at the desk was very helpful and friendly. I loved staying there.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel L'Antico Pozzo while visiting San Gimignano. Stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The room was nice, very clean and hotel location is fantastic. Emanuele and staff were gracious and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in the middle of our Italian adventure and it quickly became our favorite place. Located in the walls of San Gimignano it was perfectly located and charming. You can drive up to the door and unload luggage and then park your car just outside the wall, which is a quick 3-minute walk. Immediately we were in love. The entry room felt like someone's living room. It is so quaint and elegantly simple. We stayed in room 14 which was large with high ceilings, with old world decor and a modern bathroom. Our windows overlooked the main street so every morning we loved opening up our windows to hear the local shop keepers chatting in Italian. We felt like we were home in Italy. Taking breakfast in the outside terrace was a great way to start the day. We were given fabulous restaurant recommendations! It was lovely taking a nightly stroll down the cobblestone streets to dinner and stopping by the main square for an evening gelato. Very romantic little town. The most memorable thing about L'Antico Pozzo for us were the people. Emanuele and the whole staff were so warm and generous, like family. We even fell in love with the family dog, Lorde. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the building and seeing the original photos and just chatting. For us, folks like this are what Italy is all about. The hotel is a wonderful gem but the warmth of the people is what made it exceptional! Grazie! Give a kiss to Lorde for us.
