La Bastide de Saint Tropez (Saint-Tropez, French Riviera / Provence) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Saint-Tropez may be known for its modernist seaside hotels, but just a few minutes inland from the busy town center is a mansion and a collection of farmhouses promising exquisite tranquility, surrounded by lush gardens: this is La Bastide de Saint-Tropez. It’s a family-owned hotel, but a highly professional one, and it draws an upscale crowd of in-the-know travelers. The rooms, suites, and apartments are classic Provence through and through, in light, sunny tones, furnished with antiques. A Carita spa picks up where the lovely swimming pool leaves off, and the restaurant, L’Isoletta, is joined in the summer season by a poolside barbecue." - Tablet Hotels

I had dinner and brunch here during my time in Saint-Tropez, and both experiences were incredible. The moment I walked in, I felt transported the gardens are absolutely stunning and the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the service made me feel genuinely cared for. I’m so grateful I got to experience this side of Saint-Tropez refined, peaceful, and full of heart. Would love to stay here next time I visit Saint-Tropez. Highly recommend!

We stayed at this hotel for six nights and spent a considerable amount of money, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, the customer service was consistently poor. We were misled by staff at nearly every turn, and there was a clear lack of coordination and professionalism throughout our stay.||The food was both overpriced and subpar — truly disappointing for a property that markets itself as high-end. What was most frustrating, however, was the attitude of management. There was no sense of hospitality or appreciation for their guests. When you’re paying this kind of money, you expect not only quality but basic courtesy. Sadly, we encountered neither.||This could be a truly special destination, but until the staff and leadership understand what hospitality actually means, I would not recommend it.

Beautiful place! The staff are amazing and so accomodating. Also, the food from the restaurant was outstanding! We wanted to thank you all for making our stay memorable. We will be back next year for a longer stay.

Google
This is a difficult review because there is a lot to like about this hotel. Beautiful grounds, really first class personnel, delightful pool area and very good restaurant. Two problems for me were room sizes and location. I get that in St. Tropez space is at a premium, but I stayed in what was called a junior suite, and it really was just a small (actually very small) hotel room. The second problem was only minor. The location is a bit far from the town center. It is not walkable. There is a free shuttle, but with St. Tropez traffic it can take a while to pick you up.

I had dinner with my daughter here. I can say that we were very impressed by this place. It is an oasis of elegance and refinement in the midst of the tourist madness of Saint Tropez. The reception by the concierge was very warm. We came a few hours early to make the reservation and the lady was very kind to show us the seats and let us choose any seat we want to reserve a table for later. You could feel the sophistication of this place. The waiting time was very short. We would have waited for a lot longer because of how beautiful it was there and what kind of vibe it was. I ate lobster with vegetables. It was fantastic. Congratulations to the chef. We wanted to come to the pool as well, but from what I understand the hotel was full and it was not possible. Maybe next time. We highly recommend a dinner and have a vacation here. It is a special experience.

This hotel is special! The atmosphere was relaxed, the decor chic and the rooms quiet and spacious. The team are what makes this hotel a standout with an incredible attention to detail and friendly ease: you can feel at home. They went above and beyond to make our stay as easy, effortless and as personable as possible. The chef started dinner service early to accommodate for our jet lag, there was a fast shuttle into town and all resturant and beach reservations were handled expertly by the staff. |Relax around the pool or spend time at the spa. Delicious breakfast. Couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Yelp
Stay away, unless you enjoy throwing away money. We paid for a two night stay (500 Euros) a week in advance of a trip to Saint Tropez. Due to a passport issues, we had to change our travel dates. Our reservation was made through Expedia who suggested they were in a better position to get us re-booked or refunded. Instead Expedia cancelled our reservation before trying to change our travel dates or get us a refund. This left us with no leverage in the situation. We went to the hotel the following week and they had rooms available. We asked if we could receive a discounted rate as the hotel had taken our $500 Euros the week previous. The lady at the desk told us (in quite a rude manner I might add) that unless we cancelled thirty days in advance they are not obliged to do anything for us and refused to offer any sort of refund and or discount. We had originally booked weekend nights and were asking for a single Monday night. The hotel had 3 cars in the whole parking lot, so we were not interfering with other business. We stayed else were and will never do business with this hotel again. I am also very disappointed in the lack of effort on Expedia's part.
