My wife and I spent three nights at the hotel in mid June. Not your Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott but a GREAT European/Venetian style hotel with all the feeling of old Europe. The staff were the friendliest I have ever encountered at any hotel. They went over and above to help us navigate Venice and make our stay most pleasant. The lobby and the garden were exceptional for its it old world charm and warmth. The rooms were a bit old fashion and a bit small for our liking but clean and comfortable with updated bathroom. There was no elevator which requires climbing stairs so be aware if your room is not on the ground floor. The location is superb situated on a large canal and board walk surrounded by very nice restaurants. We found the food at the hotel restaurant to be very good and not too expensive. A very nice breakfast with a hot breakfast choice is included with your stay. Thank you Lorella, Martine, Samuel and Johann for making our stay a memorable one. We hope to visit you again one day. Ciao

Great location away from the busy streets but close enough to walk to everything or vaporetto just outside hotel. Accommodation comfortable and decor very opulent. Beds comfortable, towels etc good standard only thing lacking was coffee/tea making facilities but that is a personal preference of ours. Staff are fantastic, they cant do enough for you. The restaurant is great, food very good and lovely atmosphere. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay again.

Excellent location on zaterre with vaparetti right there -nice area central (Doursoduro) but quieter and still close to Academia and bridge. Great gelateria Nico right nearby. Beautiful canal view from room windows, old world charm, great service. Nice sitting room and dining room with water views. Stayed on second floor-steps did not bother us and they helped with our bags. Staff very helpful and let us check in earlier when our room was ready. Highly recommend.

This place is a little slice of heaven. The view from our room (plus the lobby and the outdoor restaurant) is spectacular. It’s old-school elegant, with staff who are as lovely as the accommodations. Conveniently, it’s also quite near a vapporetto stop. At check-in, we were greeted with Bellinis while staff whisked our luggage away to our room, so the fact that the hotel doesn’t have an elevator is no problem.

Perfectly quiet, but convenient location. Old world charm with a modern eclectic flair. The zattere vaporetto is a stones throw away. The restaurant has a lovely setting on the water and it is minutes to the grand canal and Sam Marco. Our room was a very romantic corner room with views of the giudecca canal. Beautiful. Staff was wonderful.

Very Simple rooms but great location. Close 10 minute walk to S. Marco place, close to different Vaporettos. Nice breakfast selection included. Comfortable bed but no water pressure in shower at all. Very nice and helpful staff. Recommended some good restaurants. Didn’t like lunch at the Hotel restaurant that much.

Hotel La Calcina was the perfect place to stay and explore Venice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and were happy to assist with restaurant recommendations, tips on navigating the water transit options and suggestions for museums and sightseeing. The view of the canal from our room was gorgeous, and the restaurant at the water's edge was a lovely way to spend the evening. The breakfast was delicious and the dining area very comfortable and beautifully decorated.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our room was clean and had three windows with an excellent view of the sea. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good.

Yelp
Quite good with a vegan risotto option. Make a reservation and eat right on the edge of the water. All allergens clearly marked and prices weren't bad!

Yelp
We had a very nice lunch inside the restaurant. The gnocchi with three shrimp and mushrooms was one of the best I've had. The Antoniana Marec beer I had was a a good IPA style. My wife and daughter had salads which they enjoyed. The staff was attentive and friendly. I wish we had tried a desert. was very

Yelp
Leisure stay over four days in September. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Public area decor is comfortable. Restaurant service and food was very good. We had double bed room with a view of the canal. It's noisy at night, so prepare with ear plugs. The room was small but comfortable and could use a decor freshening. Given location, view and overall experience a very good experience.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel this past weekend for 3 nights with my boyfriend. The hotel was offering a deal for half off due to the winter season. Upon our late 1am arrival, we were greeted at the front desk and checked in right away. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and decorated in a very classy Venetian way. Our room was comfortable and had character. We also had a gorgeous balcony with a lovely view of the water. Breakfast was served 7:30-10 daily and featured some nice pastries, fruits, and even some hot food which wasn't advertised. The staff was pleasant and helpful at all times. Location was fantastic- 7 min walk to San Marco, the touristy area. It was the perfect distance to have a nice quieter experience but still be close to the action. Also a 2 min walk to the Zattere water bus station which makes transportation very convenient to and from the airport as well as around Venice. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Venice!

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and location but terrible service. Brought out my main and appetizer when everyone else just received an appetizer. My friend ordered a sea bass that did not come out until 40 minutes after we had all finished our meals. The waitress said "it's coming out" three times and it still never came out. Also I tried to call the waiter over and he looked at me and looked away.

Yelp
Beautiful location, excellent food! The gnocchi was superb, tagliolini pesto as well. A bit pricy but that's pretty much what you'd expect from this kind of place. Friendly and smiley service
