The stay was perfect, good breakfast, good rooms and amenities. You should try the apple crumble, it’s the best i have ever tried. 5/5

Hotel La Capilla was a wonderful experience! The reception workers were very kind and welcoming. Our room was very clean and well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable, although the pillows were large we still slept very well. The shower was very luxurious with many options, I am particularly grateful for the handheld option to wash off sandy feet. The beach was a quick two minute walk. Be careful crossing the road though! The neighborhood is peaceful and relaxed compared to the peninsula, which is only a walk on the beach away. Unfortunately the neighborhood didn't have sidewalks. I would also recommend the small grocery store two blocks away for snacks and drinks! I am allergic to artificial fragrance and I'm vegan, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the soap, conditioner and shampoo the hotel offered was vegan and fragrance free! The room and sheets also didn't smell at all. The hotel breakfast had delicious bread and jam, fruit and juice so I was never hungry. They didnt have dairy free yogurt or dairy free milk options, and I did wish they had vegan pastry options. Overall an amazing experience, I would definitely recommend it ❤️

Rooms: Nice and tall ceilings (love the concrete ceiling). King sized bed with TV in front and the bathroom has a great shower with toilet and bidet. Unfortunately the toilet seat lid was damaged in room 208 and the shower fixture had stress fractures on it which led to water leaking. Probably responsible for some pressure loss when using the shower. Huge pro, the soap, shampoo and conditioner are all vegan and fragrance free. Very high quality. Service: Great service. People were kind and cleaning staff were great. Morning breakfast is underwhelming from the perspective of someone following a plant based lifestyle. They serve yogurt that barely anyone drinks. Where is a plant based option? Only thing I could eat was the bread with jam. Nothing is labeled (ingredients list) so you are guessing most of the time. All of the food behind the counter was non existent for someone following a vegan lifestyle. Just cold cuts, cheese and cakes…I guess there was fruit but there are serving unripened bananas. Location: Near the most amazing beach with nice big waves. So fun. People however do not clean up after their dogs so you will see dog shit which is a big turn off for me. I saw it in the water even… Note about the location in general: Streets are not safe at all. Punta Del Este seems to think that pedestrians don’t exist since there are close to zero sidewalks. Clearly it is expected that you use a car ANY time you need to run an errand. In addition, motorists were very aggressive and would rarely yield to the right of way. Beautiful architecture but good luck appreciating it while trying to navigate through this anti-human landscape.

The good. Nice rooms, with smart tv. Nice master bed, overall nicely design spacious shower, toilet room.. The bad. Toilet and shower at same place so can do only one at a time, if anyone wants the other, have to wait. Not to mention, all gets wet when having a shower. No coffee/ tea , or hot water in room. Sofa bed in room very uncomfortable. No love sofa, or seats in room. Dining room. No vegi to be found, only dough, pastry, yogurt, coffee/ tea, cheese, spreads, and scrambled eggs. Most pastries supervised by waiter, no self service, so if she's not there, or busy with another guest you got to wait. The verdict. Ok hotel, nicely located, been to worse, been to better.

Loved this hotel! Great shower, pool and sauna were amazing although outside part was closed off. Beds were comfortable but the pillows I give a 0. Huge and unusable. Breakfast was awesome. Lots to choose from and fresh. The young guy on reception when we arrived and when we checked out was lifeless on the verge of being plain rude. I give him a minus 10. Basically him and the pillow stopped me giving them 5 stars. Also it’s 40+ mins walk from the bus terminal and the city. A little remote if not driving.

The hotel is a two-storey modern building (inaugurated in 2019), located in a very tranquil and safe residential setting, close to Stop # 12 (Playa Brava). It is adjacent to San Rafael Roman Catholic Chapel. I could only spot a small market within walking distance, but except for said store note that if you wish to go to a restaurant or larger stores you should get a car. The hotel is just 500 meters from the beach, where upon showing your hotel card they provide you (free of charge) with a beach umbrella and chairs. And there are beach towels in your room as well.|Everything looked new and spotless, both in my room (212) and in common areas. Just a detail: one of the bed pillows had some hairs in it (still, all bed linen looked new and very clean). Bed was as I like it: firm. |Wi-fi is fast.|My room had a fridge with some edibles and drinks, yet no price was indicated for such items. |The hotel has one elevator, but sometimes I chose to use the two-flight of stairs to do some exercise. |Staff is friendly and helpful. |Breakfast is well-stuffed (watch out if you are on diet!), with diverse types of breads, jam, fruits, pastries and so forth. Some stickers should be glued on the glass sliding doors that give access to the breakfast room in order to avoid people bumping on them. |The hotel has no parking within its premises, yet you can park on the street at no cost. There is plenty of parking outside of the hotel. | In summary, I would not hesitate to return the La Capilla. Well done, guys!

I was travelling with my 86 year’s old father and we loved our stay at La Capilla. The staff were amazing especially Don Carlos at breakfast. We don’t speak Spanish but he understood everything my father and I asked him and was fast and cheery! He was our morning sunshine! We loved the pool and big spa! Great stay in Punta Del Este!

This old and well known hotel had a good reputation many years ago. It is in the area of San Rafael 200mts from a good beach. The rooms are quite small. Good mattress, good size of bathroom and good shower. Service is acceptable. Breakfast and open swimmig pool are separate and about 50mts away for the moment. Good breakfast and very kind service here. At the moment this hotel is unfinished and lacks a lot of things. The USD122 price is excellent for this time of the year, so the relation cost/quality is not to blame. Hope when it is renewed and well managed taht become again a recommendation worth
