Hotel La Casona de Tita

La Casona de Tita is a stunning boutique hotel, where we spent three nights in November. It's in a great location: an easy, downhill walk into the centre of Oaxaca with all its shopping, bar and restaurant action, but the neighbourhood (and the thick colonial walls) means that it is still very quiet at night. |There are only a handful of rooms, all set around a beautiful and tranquil courtyard with plants, where they serve delicious, freshly cooked breakfasts each morning. |The rooms have very high ceilings and are decorated with a tasteful selection of contemporary art and traditional furniture. The bathroom was modern and very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable.|Best of all were the staff and the service they provided. All the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, willing to help with anything to improve your stay in Oaxaca. |La Casona de Tita hotel was really the highlight of our two weeks in Mexico and when we return to Oaxaca we will have no hesitation about booking it again. Highest recommendation!

Aside from the central location & safety of this hotel, what makes it exceptional, is the staff. Mari, Emmanuel, Daisy, Diego, & Gabriel were amazing. We went as a family with our son who is 7 years old. They were altruistic with every detail. They went out of their way to help us access restaurant reservations, provide good & honest recommendations & tips for exploring the central parts of the city. Anytime we needed a cab, they were so gracious & requested someone on our behalf. Other times, we simply walked to our destination. You can walk to the cathedral, markets, & the plaza from the hotel. It's a short & simple walk around the city. We always felt safe at all hours of the day. The hotel itself is clean, safe, and the breakfast has a variety of options to choose from. They made hotcakes off the menu for our son, which we really appreciated. The coffee is great. They will make anything you ask for. They even made us a cup before we left the morning of our flight home (6am). We seriously couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Hands down it was one of the best places we have ever stayed at.

This was such an unexpected gem. We already had what we thought were surer bets to stay later in the week in centro. But due to available flights over the new years holiday, we had to find a place for just the first night after we arrived. We took a chance on this one, and wish we could go back and stay longer. Mari was an exceptional host - gracious and welcoming and full of good advice for things to do. Gabriel was also a very kind and attentive host, and the food for breakfast was really amazing. We ended up walking by the hotel days after checking out, and Mari was out front. Over all the noises of a busy intersection, she saw us from a crowd and still remembered our names with a huge smile. I felt perfectly safe here. At least the night we stayed, it was quiet. Value was perfect, even better with the breakfast. I would recommend, and or go back myself someday

My husband and I stayed in room 4 of this lovely small hotel. The room was large, with very comfortable beds, a large bathroom, and a great shower. The hotel is very quiet at night, and we enjoyed the neighborhood. There are many interesting things to see and do within easy walking distance. The breakfasts are delicious and are served in a lovely courtyard. | We particularly enjoyed having cafe latte each morning, along with a large number of breakfast choices. Above all, the staff is so very helpful and attentive, that they make your stay such a delightful one. Thanks so much to Jesus, Karen, Isabel, and all the rest of the staff for helping us with reservations, tours, arranging for cabs, and recommendations.

Wow ... what a cool place to stay. Close to everything but yet just off the beaten path to allow sleeping in till noon. The people that work here could not be nicer. I almost want to keep this place to myself and not tell anybody.

We stayed at Casona for 5 days and the whole time was fantastic. The location is ideal for exploring central Oaxaca by foot and it’s quiet at night. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. María, Gabriel and Carin were so helpful throughout our stay. The recommendations they mad e for tours and restaurants for us as first time visitors were spot on. The hotel is clean, modern and spacious. Decent WiFi and good air conditioning. Highly recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment which is an extension of the Hotel La Cason de Tita. The owners Amelia & Danny are warm, friendly and excellent communicators. We experienced flight delays/cancellation en route to Oaxaca. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. When we finally arrived arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth and swift check-in so we could get some much needed rest. The apartment is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and it’s in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Simply elegant.||A daily breakfast included with your stay at the hotel with delicious Oaxacan dishes. The hotel courtyard where breakfast is served is also beautiful and the on-site manager of the hotel “Mary” greeted us on the mornings we went there. She is also warm, friendly, attentive and extremely helpful. They frequently say “We love to help!” and they hold true to that promise.||I highly recommend this accommodation!

We just returned from 3 days at La Casona de Tita. Wonderful boutique hotel set in a colonial home. The 6 rooms are big and decorated in great taste - sparse, hacienda style, thick stone walls, comfortable bed, strong AC. They are located around a beautiful and tranquil courtyard where a delicious breakfast is served. The location was perfect - a couple of blocks from all the action but completely quiet and peaceful at night. The staff was outstanding, so nice and accommodating. Mary, Karen, Gabriel and the others were very friendly and catered to our every need with a smile. We highly recommend Casona de Tita and plan on staying with them again on our next trip to Oaxaca.

What a lovely Hotel. I have stayed at some of the best hotel in the world and this is one of them. The service, room, hospitality and food was top notch. The beds are comfy, rooms are large/cozy and so warm. I woke up every morning and a cappuccino was served to me within 5 minutes from one of the friendly staff members. In the center of town walking distance from the best restaurants and shopping. Only place I would stay at in Oaxaca.
