Hotel la Finca

This review is for the restaurant inside the hotel. The service was great and they have a variety of local and international dishes . We ordered a hamburger, chicken soup, garlic mushrooms, stuffed fish and club sandwich. Everything tasted great. They also have a big cocktails selection. I've had the pina colada and sangria, both have good taste and size. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, as you can see the lake, the fishermen and local wildlife. Also, the pool is right there to enjoy.

Despite being in a great location and having some beautiful views, the hotel itself is in need of upgrades and maintenance. I'm sure in it's day this was an awesome hotel but now it feels outdated. There are no screens to the patio and the room had bugs so we couldn't sleep with windows open and the AC is very old and very noisy so we couldn't sleep because of the noise. The staff was very friendly and like I said the location and views are amazing.

I’ve traveled to Catemaco many times now and wanted to try “La Finca” so finally booked a room for 2 nights! Boy, what a disappointment. It’s supposed to be the finest hotel in Catemaco, but I beg to differ. More like, “La Nasty”. Perhaps back in the day, this was a fine hotel but they have really let it go downhill. The good things I will say is the view of the lake and the pool area. I did not try the restaurant. The AC worked good, which a great relief in the 100+ degree weather. But the room itself was really in bad shape. The worst part I think was the bedspreads looking like they had stains all over them. YUCK! Come on FINCA, you can do better. Buy better bedding for your hotel!! Also needs some repair on the walls and ceilings. The mirror was all scratched up. Shower just sort of drained the water rather than a good spray. They need to just remodel the rooms and bring things up-to-date. The furniture was all scratched and dirty. Even the art work on the walls was just filthy with old dead bugs in the glass. UGH!!! I would not stay here again unless they updated everything. We ended up staying a couple nights at a different hotel which was nicer and cheaper. When you pay $80 per night, you expect much more in Mexico!! Pictures of our room attached. Would not recommend.

Even if the place is nice. There are more cons than pros. AC has terrible maintenance, very noisy. Impossible to regulate temperature and on-off. Restaurant food is really a health problem. I found an insect (A big one ) in my food. I am disgusted. Never will back again.|

The outside of this hotel was beautiful. Nice pool and bar area. Good restaurant setting. Unfortunately the rooms were really dated. Only had two plug in socket in the whole room. Did have one in the bathroom. The food at the restaurant was not spectacular. The staff was very helpful. I wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel is located at a spectacular location and has overall very nice facilities, especially the pool design is fantastic for families with children. Service overall is friendly and the rooms are nice and clean, but the air conditioner is extremely noisy and some of the bedding could use a renovation, as well as a coffee maker and water in the room would go a long way toward an additional star. It's quite pricy for what you get but you can't beat the location.

The hotel is in a great location affording a wonderful sunrise over the lake. Be sure to get a room on floor 2 or 3 for the best views. ||||Be aware that you are in the hinterlands in this hotel. The night lights attract some sort of nonbiting gnat that is thick, thick. They die at night so in the morning you have drifts of these critters against the exterior walls and doors. For some reason, not many come in the room.||||This hotel does need some work but could easily be upgraded. I suspect COVID interrupted such plans. We'd stay here again, though.

Despite rooms needs cardinal fixes (even door handles disassembles when door opened) - there very clean and cosy. Location on the beach of magic Catemaco is the main reason to highly revommend this hotel for all visitors Have a perfect sunrise!

I took a vacation in December to veracruz With family and decided to take a small trip to a close town in catemaco where i found this nice family hotel... my daughter and i fell in love with it... they guide you thru what is worth watching around the town..usually hotels try to over price activities but this place gives u the moneys worth... One of the activities that we loved was a boat ride where we saw nice islands and went to a forest called nanciyaga the experience was magnificent and was glad i spent it there with my daughter ... The view from the is jaw dropping... What i was most excited about was that their hotel food was not over priced since i was practically eating there most of the time... Customer service was great ..calm environment and great ambience!! A must have trip The hotel has great accommodations but need a tad little detail in the rooms ... overall the rooms were clean and equipped ...
