Pleasant centrally located small hotel. room comfortable; fresh brioche, croissants, lots more at breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Note there is no elevator, but we were able to manage the 70-step staircase up to our room with no problem. Staff cheerfully helped with our bags upon arrival and departure.

This hotel was just not worth the price. It not only was far from many places in Bordeaux, but it was also in a weird & hard-to-get-to part of town. The feeling the owners of the hotel wanted you to have was of a place much nicer than this. The rooms were so-so and the breakfast area was very strange and not inviting. There were random books lying around at each place & i guess we were supposed to read them ( ?). I love books but I found the display a bit off-putting- as well as the breakfast itself.

I made a reservation with Hôtel La Maison du Lierre Bordeaux via booking.com for one night in September. The hotel "initiated a free cancellation" link, without even contacting me to explain why. I reached out and they said "Indeed, we requested cancellation because we no longer have your room available following renovations in our hotel. However, you can book directly in order to offer you other rooms as well as their prices." I asked them to cancel the booking but instead they have now marked my Credit Cards as 'invalid' (twice) instead of cancelling. This is incredibly strange behaviour from a business. They have not responded to my messages asking them to cancel the request instead. Per booking.com's terms of service: "If you’re experiencing unforeseen issues and can’t accommodate your guests, you must report this to our customer service. They’ll support you with the cancellation request and relocation of the guests, if applicable." This hotel has not done any of those things and instead is providing very poor customer service.

A charming hotel within a few minutes walk to the city centre. The room was clean and comfortable and pleasantly quiet at night. We stayed on the top (3rd) floor which was fine for us but there is no lift (as was made clear when we booked) which could be a challenge for some. The breakfast on the terrace was fabulous and all the staff went out of there way to be helpful.

On arrival at the hotel we informed the superior room we had booked was not available . we were given room number 1 . A room which required you to have the lights on at all time as there was only a small window and this looked out on to the guest courtyard and with the curtains open anybody in the courtyard could see in . we thought breakfast was included however it was not . we were charged 24 euros for a tea / coffee and ham and a slice of cheese and another guests left over bread roll . Eloise on reception was charming and helpful . We liked Bordeaux and considered staying another night and asked for a discount on the room for the extra night ( as we were not staying in a superior room ) the manager who we did not speak was totally inflexible and appeared from the staffs perspective to be a difficult person , I emailed him on my return he didnt read the email properly or acknowledged we had been given the wrong room in fact he was very unpleasant and indicated he thought i was telling a lie .and threatening him .

It was difficult to get to this place with a car, I was not happy walking in, but the very kind and helpful receptionist showed us to a lovely room out by the garden, the stress fell away and I was ready to see Bordeaux

This place definitely isn’t a hotel. It’s a large house that rents its rooms out at expensive prices. We were very disappointed with our overnight stay. The house is well located. We felt ripped off. Our room was very small with creaking bare floor boards. Bed was very firm. Their was no one there after 7pm, not impressed. This place I will not be recommending to anyone.

On our arrival, we were welcomed warmly and taken to our room, which was accessed from a beaitiful patio area at the back of the hotel. For somewhere that is so central, we could not believe how quiet it was. All the staff were really helpful, and we were advised where to park our car at a reasonable cost (€43 for 48 hours), which we didn't think was bad for a central secured city centre car park.||||There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there are so many restaurants very near. They serve drinks if you just wish to relax with a beer or a glass of wine; and on a warm sunny day, it was lovely to have our breakfast delivered to a table just outside our room, on a small private terrace.||||It's not a modern city centre hotel, and that's what appealed to us. Quiet, excellent service and a good night's sleep! We shall definitely return.
