Hotel La Malcontenta

This review is made considering this is a 5 stars hotel. If it was a 3 / 4 stars hotel it woud more positive. We were not expecting that in a 5 stars hotel room: two sockets did not work, a lamp didn't work, the tap was leaking, the aircon nearly worked, two shower taps at the swimming pool were broken, etc ... the only aspect which fully met a 5 stars hotel expectation was the high price paid. Dissapointing experience which we'll not repeat again. A pity

Still giddy about the gem of a hotel we got to experience this weekend. Every detail was a delightful discovery - from the doors leading to the back garden, the art pieces on the walls, the silverware, the massive shower, the library full of books in various languages, the beautiful breakfast spread, to my personal favorite - the white slipcover armchair that I wanted to take home and make my own little nap nook. It was the perfect balance between history and charm - that felt both elegant yet extremely inviting and homey. The staff was very warm and helpful from the moment we arrived. Not to mention we had the most gorgeous beaches and coves less than 10 minutes away by car. I saw some reviews about it being outdated, but personally I didn't find anything to be outdated at all. In fact, we wouldn't have loved it so much here if it had been more modern than it was - that is what gave the hotel its charm. As much as I want to keep this place my own little secret, it would be doing such a disservice to this beautiful establishment! I highly recommend staying here, and I will most certainly be back. Thank you so much to Joaquin and the rest of the staff for making our short stay such a pleasant one.

Incredible stay. If you love charm, impeccable style, and an unreal setting — this is your place. The quality and price of the dinner was outstanding and the overall service was fantastic. Very pet friendly , our dog had an incredible time at the beach and fields. Thank you Qin for the wonderful breakfast service and the other staff members for making it memorable for us.

We went for lunch today.|Compared to many local restaurants it was not inexpensive. However having been before, some time ago, it's a good location, not far from home, and the dining room is lovely.|I don't know if there's a new ownership but lunch today was just awful. My husband had two dishes with additional supplements. The first was Burrata with salsa. The Burrata was tough. Maybe past it's best? The mango and tomato salsa not ripe, hard and tasteless.|His steak was served with a few rocket leaves on top a grating of parmesan and nothing else. I gave him half of the potatoes served with my very tiny fish.|Crema Catalana was our dessert of choice. A staple on any menu. This one came from a packet, looked and tasted awful. The caramel crispy layer was almost non existent. We both left it after a spoonful. The waiter offered us something else instead. My husband declined. I chose profiteroles. They had obviously been frozen and microwaved before serving so hot and running in the middle and inedible. |This is such a pity. What a lovely location and such bad food.

We booked a table in the restaurant for dinner with friends on New Years’ Eve! It was great! Everything was wonderful and of high standards; the food (a beautiful set menu inclusive of wine, cava, water), the service, the entourage, and great staff who did everything to make you enjoy the evening! And all of this for a very friendly price, given the high quality. We love this place and will definitely go back there!

Hotel: amazing 5stars boutique with unique pieces of art and furnitures. Service top level, breakfast perfect. Need serious maintenance but still remains of exception. Restaurant: overall not good at all, simply an obvious lower standard than the 5stars hotel it is attached to. It is for nearby camping guests. Sea food clearly not fresh. Cant have such offer of quality products in a 28euros menu.

Perfect service. Great staff, all of them were adorable. I truly recommend you if you're looking for a place calm and nice. Good space to ride bikes, near of very good cities and villages and excellent beaches. I'm very glad I chose this hotel because they are truly friendly and open to requests. Just lovely...

This is a stunningly beautiful hotel and location. The place is something out of a fairytale the buildings furniture and fittings are old but the quality and the beauty is exceptional. Surrounded by nature with meadows and woodland. ||This far exceeds anything with modern fittings and manicured lawns. If that’s what you like this is not your place. For those that enjoy exceedingly good quality and to be surrounded by nature there is no better place.||Expect the best quality linens and towels. Beautiful and comfortable lounges a romantic restaurant with fabulous food and very friendly staff.||Sadly we were only here for one night as we were travelling through spain but I could have happily stayed a week. We are already planning to go back for a longer stay.
